Oh, how disappointing. I think it's because they haven't gone into production. When I learned that, I feared the timeline would be pretty late into 2015.
I'm thankful for the On Demand feature. I'll just watch the episodes when I start to get itchy. I've already watched The Wedding six times now....

DG announced yesterday that production just finished for this season...it is about 6 months away, a little more so maybe they are going by that instead of the beginning of the season.
Do you mean, when you say season, the segments beginning in April? Also, does production complete mean in the can?
That whole process is pretty lengthy, given the director's eye for detail. And, we are headed towards the holidays.
*sigh* I prefer they get it right but six months is a LONG time:)

I know...I will just have to listen to the series between now and then. And I am committed to In Death all through as well guess it is a good thing I am retired. Lol
Okay Ladies...I've been at the beach so haven't been here to talk about Jamie's mighty fine...ummmm...body. That wedding night - actually the wedding included - was so fine! Loved it. I just kept on wanting Claire to MOVE & stop hiding Jamie's "assets". ;) Wonder if Sam has a wife? Wonder if he wants one?!! lol

GREAT idea! I'll proceed with the book series.

LOL! Yeah, the director made certain Claire stayed put:) And, no, Sam is not married.

Well dang! I am happily married - but even married women can look. ;) Oh man - Sam/Jamie is HOT!
Fir a while I thought she was the costume designer, but that is Ron Moore's wife, so maybe I just got it all backwards.
Lol, I was actually wondering what his wife thought about the wedding scenes lol. Good to know there is no issue there.
There's no way I could do those scenes and not feel something. They were incredibly intimate. I kept thinking about the two actors...how did they feel when that was over.
I'm used to seeing love scenes, etc. but that one was so...sensual.

I completely agree. Those scenes were sooo intense. According to People's five things to know about him...
1) He grew up in converted stables at a Scottish castle (how freaking cool is that?)
2) He is naturally a blond (and I thought he was a brunette).
3) He is a fan of Munro-bagging...have to look that up.
4) He auditioned, and was turned down 7 times, for Game of Thrones (thank the blessed acting gods).
5) He is SINGLE!
Glad we cleared up that muddle of mine.
When we were talking to my daughter in law the other night telling her about Outlander and I said "oh wait until you see my Jamie in the wedding episode", hubby looked at me and standing laughing...

I was thinking the same thing, Jonetta. Those scenes were intense! So much so that it's easy to forget that there is a whole filming crew, etc., surrounding them. I guess that helps kill any "natural response" they might have! haha

I'm envisioning a new career - working on that film crew!! Even if it's just fetching coffee! ;)
When they do these type scenes, the crew is at a minimum. It was so dimly lit, I'll bet there were probably only two cameras in there and one from the lighting crew.
And, the second love scene didn't have a lot of breaks...maybe one or two.

Yeah, I've heard they film these scenes with a minimum crew. A crew of one or two would be one too many if I had to strip & do a scene like that. Cannot imagine...but they're professionals - that's why they make the big bucks.

WhooHoo Karen...yeah!

I think this one time I might have been able to be distracted by Sam:)

I wonder why six months if they are done with the filming, even with the holidays inbetween. and where does that leave us for the second season? if we finish this one mid june, do we still get the second one in september or other six months? this sucks!
Post production work often takes as long or longer than the filming. Consider how long it takes a movie to be released after production wraps (typically a year). So that's why I'm not surprised.
STARZ took a risk with this series and that commitment to the second season probably has opened up the budget more for that one. It's a fickle business with lots of elements in play. I'm just happy to see it being aired so wonderfully.

April 4th - circled on my calendar!! And one thing - I thought each "season" was one book but obviously not as that wasn't the end of the first book. But I loved it! So well done - I even felt a little sorry for Frank. And Jamie - *sigh* And it's beginning to feel like Claire stays half naked more than clothed!
Oh, April is the beginning of the second half of this season. I thought a few months, but not 6. I hate Starz right about now
Yeah...my dilemma is whether to keep starz the entire time or drop it and pick it up again in April. I don't watch anything else on it but my hubby has been watching a couple of other shows since I got it back for Outlander.
Yea, I am probably dropping it. I really don't watch anything else. The show about the missing boy could pull me in, but I am resisting
My deal is for a year at no extra charge, which will expire before the beginning of the second season. Think STARZ planned it this way?
I'm a bit bummed.
Yes, Claire's pretty naked from here on it seems.

It was close in the book as well, but he looked like it. But then they went all slow motion on it so maybe it just seemed like it wa a really long time
Here's an interview Ron did with Variety where he called it a near rape:
Ron, the episode is one of the most brutal so far, with two instances of Claire almost being raped. Obviously, both are pivotal moments in the book, but coming so close together they really highlight the danger and cruelty of the world she’s still trapped in, and it makes for a fairly dark episode. Was there any hesitation about including both in the same hour, or was it just a case of trying to be faithful to the flow of the book?
Moore: We never seriously considered taking either one out because they were both important to the storyline as laid out, because the deserters’ near rape in the meadow is a key component to the relationship between Claire and Jamie and it plays into the next episode, 109, on top of the second half, so that was an important element. Obviously, Jamie coming in when Randall’s about to rape her was also a key thing that had to happen, so yeah. The fact that they’re both in the same episode is just the way the story was given to us and so we wanted to keep going down that path.
