Which new releases are you most looking forward to?
Freaking out mode - on:I just saw that The Doors of Eden by Adrian Tchaikovsky already is available from August 20th on as audiobook - and that Sophie Aldred is narrating! I ADORED her reading of the Skyward series. I AM HAPPY!

Thank you for listening :D
Good news for Penric fans. The Physicians of Vilnoc will also be out on audio in just a couple of weeks! It doesn't have a cover yet, so I don't know if it's an Audible exclusive, but since The Orphans of Raspay is, I'm guessing probably. Raspay is already out for two weeks or so.Raspay on Audible
Vilnoc on Audible
I'm looking forward to the next installment of Juliet E. McKenna's Green Man series that will be coming out in September. Rural Fantasy set in the Cotswold where the protagonist is the half-human son of a dryad. I really enjoyed the first two, The Green Man's Heir and The Green Man's Foe.
I don't know if this one has already been mentioned, but Rebecca Roanhorse has a new book coming in October: Black Sun.
Even though I felt pretty lukewarm about Trail of Lightning I'm super excited for this one because I loved her short story Welcome to Your Authentic Indian Experience. I thought it was brilliant. I have super high hopes for it.

I'm curious because two of you have said this - was the second book much better than the first? Because the first didn't do much for me. Just wondering if I should give book two a shot.

Stephenie Meyer - Midnight Sun. Yes, I'd like to read it. Sounds like fun. Seriously, all the bashing for the previous, just so much sour grapes. :-)

I really enjoyed both books. The second shows more of the world outside the Dine nation.
Mmmm the second book in Roanhorse‘s SIXTH WORLD trilogy wasn’t that much better than the first but I am very curious to find out how the story ends/continues.
Is anyone else hanging out for The Saints of Salvation?? I read the first two books last year and I've been keen for the conclusion ever since! It's made me want to read all of Peter F. Hamilton's books.

Yes for me SAINTS OF SALVATION is huge. But I knew it was coming so I expected it. The new Tana French THE SEARCHER was a surprise, even if she’s been pretty consistently releasing new books every other year for about a decade now...

I've been waiting keenly for it since I finished the second book XD So very glad we're nice and close to the release date now!
I just learned about the The New Wilderness, to be released this month.
It's about the group of people living in a dystopian city and volunteering to go and try to live in the only place of wilderness left on earth (or the continent maybe?).
I'm usually not very excited about dystopian stories in general, but this sounds right up my alley! I would expect lots of interpersonal relations, obstacles to survival and 'people vs. environment' turning into 'people vs. people'.
I just started two books, though, so I won't read it right now.

thanks! I am looking for more female-female pairing in SFF (e.g. travel buddies) so this book looks great.

I wonder if he will have references from the 1990s this time? I'm tired of the 1980s, but I could get up for some grunge.

A little late, but I'm excited for this one! Well, not really, since it's not coming out for six months. Guess I'd better read the third one in the meantime.
Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend is supposed to be out next week. Looks like we'll be waiting until the end of September now.
Jacqueline wrote: "Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend is supposed to be out next week. This particular book has had so many date changes my head is spinning.
Hollowpox is making me crazy and I’m not even the most excited for it, so I can only imagine those poor kids who’ve been waiting for it!

I'm looking forward to Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith, but it's 900 pages. Rowling is a windbag. Still, I'm looking forward to it. The characters are good. I was going to order the hard cover but maybe not. It would probably weigh five pounds.
Sarah wrote: "I’m baffled at the thought of a 900 page mystery/thriller. It just seems.... wrong."C.J. Sansom's Shardlake series are all pretty long but they're excellent but a bit of a slow read.
Agreed. I couldn’t commit to reading Book 4 in the Cormorant Strike series which was ~600 pages so seeing Book 5 is ~900 pages is just madness.

Wyatt, is there a release date for The Thorn of Emberlain yet? I know that it's been changed about a gazillion times! It's going the way of Doors of Stone it seems.
I’m looking forwards to The Galaxy, and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers. According to the story from the publisher on Insta it’s coming in February 2021.
It was just announced on Book Smugglers this morning - I get all their posts emailed to me because I like their reviews and they get some awesome book/cover reveals.
I'm looking forward to:To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
Piranesi
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
The Burning God

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of To Sleep in a Sea of Stars and very keen to get into it! It's HUGE though XD
Kaa wrote: "Anna! Alert! Alert! New Zen Cho book next May: Black Water Sister"Yay! Ooo, good release day = happy birthday to me! :-)
This year, I'm really looking forward to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue; it's been on my to-read since it was first announced! VE Schwab usually doesn't disappoint so I'm hoping it's good. And of course The Burning God in November. I have a feeling that one will break my heart (in a good way).

In the same vein, the second audio in Emma Newman's Industrial Magic also came out a little while ago, last month I think. I don't know if the series will eventually continue, but two novellas are out, and both now also on audio, read by herself as always. First one is Brother’s Ruin.
