Which new releases are you most looking forward to?

I'm still in the middle of Harrow, but she already won me over with Gideon and some interviews she's done. I will pretty much be down for anything she writes, and cyberpunk gunslingers sounds perfect to me.
[The book] isn't simply under the sea, it's about cyberpunk lesbian gunslingers at the end of the world. So I’ve got my heroine, who is a gunslinger retiree in her 40s who is completely done with that sh*t.🤩😍🥰
Take my 💰💰💰, Tamsyn! 😄
Nghi Vo's full-length novel The Chosen and the Beautiful now has a cover! Its initial announcement back in June passed me by, but now that I've read "The Empress of Salt and Fortune" I'm excited to read more of Vo's work. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
Anna wrote: "I'm looking forward to what she can do when she's not writing for her 17yo self!"*snort*
I'd have to say "The Fires of Vengeance" by Evan Winter, after reading his incredible debut "The Rage of Dragons". The sequel promises to be unputdownable!
Silvana :D That wasn't actually meant as snark! :P Just that I completely understand why she needed and wanted to write the Gideon books for her 17yo self, but I'm not a 17yo drunk lesbian eating McDonald's in the street in the middle of the night (her words, not mine), so it's only natural that style doesn't 100% resonate with me. I like the bones of it though, which is why I can't wait to see what she can do when she's got that out of her system.
Beth wrote: "Nghi Vo's full-length novel The Chosen and the Beautiful now has a cover!"I saw that in the Tor newsletter, and I could've sworn I've seen that cover MONTHS ago! But maybe it just feels like months, and was actually a couple of days? Who knows.

Hm. I didn't *think* I was a 17 year old drunk lesbian in the middle of the street eating McDonalds...I guess I gotta do some soul searching! haha Or maybe there's some sort of middle aged person equivalent. Either way, am excite about underwater steampunk middle aged heroines.

I mean, I didn't eat McD when I got home drunk at 17, I ate a veggie burger from the shabby grill kiosk :P It apparently makes ALL the difference XDedit: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I know I'm a mod and this is the new releases thread. I'll go hide in the corner with my off topic shame.
PL wrote: "I'd have to say "The Fires of Vengeance" by Evan Winter, after reading his incredible debut "The Rage of Dragons". It's really great to see how it went from an unknown self published book to being picked up by a big publisher with a highly anticipated sequel on the way.
Glad to hear this. I have RAGE OF DRAGONS in my overflowing Kindle TBR so maybe this will move it up the list.
MadProfessah wrote: "Glad to hear this. It gives just enough pauses from the non-stop, absolutely thrilling fighting, and enough engaging plot, with lots of complex and very well done worldbuilding, to make it a real winner. I was hooked. Hope you enjoy it, whenever you get to it!
Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells. Or more accurately Murderbot 6. We have to wait until April but I’m sure I’ll handle it. Just. I love Murderbot 💜
Right now, I'm waiting for the new Alex Verus novel by Benedict Jacka, mainly because after kind of a drag, the previous installment was kind of a gamechanger and I'm really curious now how the series will conclude. And the new Stephen King already sounds cool, but will sadly only be released early next year.
Speaking of "Through assassinations and massacres, in bedrooms and war rooms, Touraine and Luca will haggle over the price of a nation. But some things aren't for sale." Color me intrigued.
Emmett wrote: "Speaking of 17 yr old drunk lesbians eating McDonalds on the street, I am looking forward to The Unbroken. I know, I know... don't judge a book by its cover, but it just looks cool!..."Thanks for mentioning it, that looks pretty good. The cover is very cool, but as usual the blurb hooked me in and it's on my TBR now.
Immunity Index by Sue Burke coming in May 2021, sounds like non-fiction with all the plagues and fascist governments. I'll check it out, but I'd rather have more in the Semiosis universe.I'm also adding The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey (Feb 2021) to my list, let's see if I enjoy her scifi more than her fantasy.
I don't remember if I've already mentioned it, but I'm also excited for We Are Satellites by Sarah Pinsker, also scheduled for May 2021.
There's an excerpt from The Unbroken available to whet your appetite with before March: https://www.orbitbooks.net/orbit-exce...
Well, I'm definitely excited about this!"Tor.com Publishing is thrilled to announce that Lindsey Hall and Ruoxi Chen have acquired World English rights to The Way Spring Arrives and Other Stories, a new anthology of Chinese science fiction and fantasy, written, edited, and translated by women and nonbinary creators, from Regina Kanyu Wang, Zhang Yiwen, and Emily Xueni Jin at Storycom. The collection will be available in hardcover and ebook in Spring 2022."

OMG! I love Regina Kanyu Wang.
I just realised that tomorrow a Stormlight Archive novella set between Oathbringer and Rhythm of War will be released: "Dawnshard" - how perfect is this? I'll probably finish my third read of Oathbringer this evening, so I know what I'll be downloading tomorrow.

Ooh, added The Unbroken to my TBR. I'm intrigued indeed. And despite the adage, it's hard not to be tempted by that cover.
Did we know that The Outside (on group shelf) was getting a sequel? I don't remember seeing The Fallen before, and it wasn't on my GR shelves. If you didn't know either, there you go.
Waiting on Ready Player Two. Went wandering around my local actual bookshop this afternoon and the lady asked me what I was looking for. I told her Ready Player Two but I don’t think it’s been released yet. She had never heard of Ready Player One let alone had any idea about RPT. Got to wait until at least the 24th.
Just found there is an expanded version of Spirits Abroad set to come out early next year with 9 new stories! I hope they use the original cover, I love it so much.
@Allison: yup, because of that I seem to don't get the book here at the moment. I have to wait till the new release.

Pushing towards the end of the first draft of Children of Memory (working title). Going to need a very thorough editing pass, though, so a ways off completion.

That is probably why I could't do my normal library borrow and have to read it right in the library app. *light bulb comes on in my head*

Not too early for Empire of the Vampire at all. Lots of people have already preordered it and Jay Kristoff is always on about it on Insta.

I spent months trying to find a physical copy for my mom. It's nice that they're bringing the physical book back! I did eventually get the copy, because my brother flew to Malaysia and bought the book from a KL bookstore :D
I wonder what the four new stories are, I'm assuming the other five are the ones in the ebook. I hope they're brand new ones I haven't read, so I have an excuse to buy it! (Looks like at least one will be a reprint, probably two, but I'm still hoping there will be two new ones!)
edit: I added the new edition to GR, for those who want to track it: Spirits Abroad
From Subterranean pressWe've just posted the beginning scence from Connie Willis' new holiday novella, Take a Look at the Five and Ten . Feel free to give it a read and be reminded of the screwball-comedy tone that has made many of Connie's novellas so popular.
and I'm not the one that misspelled that word, they did in their email

it sounds like it'll be a hoot
I'm going to do my best not to look at that, so I can experience the whole thing in one sitting when it's out! Here's a link to the thing on GR: Take a Look at the Five and Ten
Aliette de Bodard's new Xuya universe novella, Seven of Infinities, is out. There are more details and an excerpt here:https://subterraneanpress.com/seven-o...
I don't know if anyone on here uses NetGalley, but for those of you that were interested in reading The Unbroken, I saw it up for request today :)
We can all get excited for a "Shards of" book in 2021! No, not *that one*, but this one: Shards of Earth. It's not news, but I gasped hearing "Shards of" this morning, and realized I hadn't noticed that before :D
I just found out there's an upcoming novella sequel to The Goblin Emperor, The Witness for the Dead.
Yeah I've been waiting for Goblin2 for a couple of years now, and sad to hear it's novella length, not a full novel :(
Some books I’ve marked in my TBR, seen in SFF 180 in Youtube: Shards of.. Earth! Adrian Tchaikovsky
Persephone Station Stila Leicht
Remote Control Nnedi Okorafor
Project Hail Mary Andy Weir
Light Chaser Peter Hamilton
Remote Control is on my pre-order list, I've been waiting for it for so long!edit: I checked and I've shelved it in June 2017! 2017!!
