Have no idea if any of these books are worth reading. It is quite fun though going through your to-read list and then suddenly think "uhh... That sounds like an ABBA song" and then start to sing it ;-)

Just yesterday I borrowed a book that is like a Christmas calendar, one short story for each day from the beginning of December till Christmas. (This one has 25 stories, though usually the Christmas calendars have 24 something because we celebrate Christmas on the 24th.) And all the stories have got their inspiration from Christmas carols... So I may have to return this and borrow another book like it but just with a different theme.

Too bad the wording of the prompt restricts it to songs; I think titles of instrumental pieces should be included. That would be things like Tolstoy's "Kreuzer Sonata", a short story that is used as part of the title of a collection; Kreuzer Sonata is the name of a piece by Beethoven (his 9th violin sonata, written around 1804). Interestingly enough, the Tolstoy short story gave its name to yet another musical piece: Czech composer Janacek's first string quartet (1923). A great piece by the way.

There are other choices of course: La Symphonie pastorale by André Gide and Radetzkymarsch by Joseph Roth come to mind.

Swedes can keep their cheery disco pop, we have had it tougher and sing from the heart...
