*song instantly playing inside head*
This prompt fell into my lap at the weekend. I was reading I Still Dream and it was explained that the AI in it was named after the first line of Kate Bush's Cloudbusting: I still dream of Organon. It's such a good book and I recommend it if you're struggling with this prompt or just like books about how technology impacts humanity. It is very relevant to current times.
Crumb wrote: "Would it be okay to use the book Blood Sisters by Jane CorryI found a few songs that have the lyric "blood sister" , the song "Rebel Girl" by the band Bikini kill ..."That seems close enough to me. :-)
Cindy H. wrote: "I’m planning on reading Scar Tissue and last year I read and loved Only Love Can Break Your Heart"This is a great book!

Thank you for these! I've been wanting to read One of Us Is Lying but would never have made that connection!!
I just ordered a copy of the out-of-print Dark Gods by T.E.D. Klein. The black metal band Von has a song of the same name. But yesterday I realized that Chew, Vol. 1: Taster's Choice would qualify for lyrics from two different Schoolhouse Rock songs, "Exercise Your Choppers" and "Chew Your Food" which I find pretty hilarious given the over-the-top gruesomeness of the comic.
I read One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. It was a cute, easy, but not a light read. Several laugh out loud spots. The title are lyrics in the song Blue Suede Shoes written and originally recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955.
Lucy in the Sky. I read this in a couple hours. Quick, but heavy read. It made my heart hurt a little bit.
I think no one mentioned I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou which is also a line from Alicia Keys' song 'Caged Bird' :)
Sarah wrote: "I think I’m going to use Chrissy Metz new book “This is Me” for this prompt. :)"I'm reading this book right now. Great idea. Too bad I've already filled the category and can't find somewhere else to move it.
A Long Way Home fit into this category quite nicely. Such a great novel... now I need to watch "Lion"!
I read Stranger in a Strange Land. Blah. Bashes you over the head with moral and philosophical lecturing in a loose veneer of sci-fi. Yuck.
I'm reading Season of the Witch: Enchantment, Terror and Deliverance in the City of Love, which is the song name "Season of the Witch" by Donovan. So far an interesting history of my city, San Francisco.
I'm reading Nicole Dennis-Benn's here comes the sun for this prompt. It's not a happy or light book, but it's very well done. It follows three local Jamaican women, a mother and her two daughters, and addresses consequences of resorts and tourism for locals. I'm listening on audio, and the narrator does an excellent job.
Totally behind on my updates here, but I recently read The One That Got Away for this prompt, inspired by a lesser-known song from my favourite singer, Pink.
For all the Constant Readers out there: Stephen King's new book The Outsider would qualify I think. Eric Church has a song called The Outsiders and I think there are others with this title.
I picked up Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. The title song is by Nirvana. Overall, I was not impressed with this book, but I did like Joe Hill's writing. I will give him another shot in the future.
Wonderful Tonight I read the Pattie Boyd memoir. It was lovely. Always fun to see inside other people's lives.
Cate wrote: "Breakfast at Tiffany's would count, right?"I would definitely think so! I think I want to read this one too :)
Two I've read lately that would fit this:Green Hell- We're gonna burn in hell/green hell... "Green Hell" by the Misfits
A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier Now I'm a long way gone/down this wild road I'm on... "The Long Way Around" by Jackson Browne
This is perfect, I read The Woman in the Window and just read someone commenting there is a song by Leonard Cohen..Samson in New Orleans..Lucky me!!

Like any hell, but kind of green! I confess I like that song but never knew what the heck he was saying, except of course for the "green hell" part. I just looked up the lyrics.

A Place For Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza. The title of this book is a reference to a song from West Side Story, Somewhere (there is a place for us)
delirium by lauren oliver (song by lacuna coilhere comes the sun by nicole dennis boon (song by the beatles
let it snow by john green
pandemonium by lauren oliver (song by rick ross
perfect ruin by lauren destfano (song by kwabs)
silence by becca fitzpatrick (song by marshmello and Khalid
I read Everything You Want Me to Be for this prompt - lyrics in a song by Coldfront. Highly recommend the book!
I was going to go with Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson (Kelly Clarkson) but I think I’m going to go with Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas) I just like the song better then since you been gone lol!
I really stretched it on this one. I used a book called Two Truths and a Lie: It’s Alive by Ammi-Joan Paquette. Thanks to whoever suggested lyrics.com! I plugged in “it’s alive” and found lyrics by Bastille in a song called Durban Skies. I’m running behind and was desperate to fit this one that I just finished reading to my son into a category I hadn’t filled yet!
I decided to go with Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Can’t remember where it’s from at the moment but I did see it here somewhere.

already read one for published in 2018? or clearly it's recommended by other's doing the challenge :)
I'm going with an unusual choice Last Exit to Brooklyn by Hubert Selby Jr. This book about New York in the 60's, a time I have never read about. This should be fun.

I think that one is better and if you like Kansas you might too! ;)

I chose How to Save a Life by Sara Zarr. The title just makes me think of one of my favorite shows, Grey's Anatomy. The song is sung by The Fray.

That list was very helpful, thanks! Especially since I'm currently reading "Never let me go" anyway.
