1. On shelf longest: Heat and Dust by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala
2. Series started but not finished: Beyond the Edge of the Map by A.L. Tait - The Mapmaker Chronicles #4 - AA
3. Bought book: Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green
4. Old publication (not oldest, but old enough I reckon. I have a lot of classics on my shelf and I'm not currently in the mood for Cervantes or Tolstoy): Three Men on the Bummel by Jerome K. Jerome - originally published 1900

Minimum of 4
TASKS
1) Read the book which has been on your TBR shelf the longest.
I am a late starter to Goodreads, so my TBR shelf dates back only to September when I added In the Woods by Tana French.
2) Read a book from a series you have started but not finished.
Force of Nature is the second in a series by Jane Harper. Enjoyed the first The Dry, so am looking forward to the next. Ms Harper is also Australian.
3) Read a book you bought but have not got round to reading yet.
Cupcakes at Carrington's by Alexandra Brown. This is the book before Christmas at Carrington's. I bought it a few months ago specifically to read in November in preparation for Christmas at Carrington's, which will be part of my Christmas marathon of reads in December!
4) Read the book with the oldest publication date on your shelf. The Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie. First published in 1923. I started this book yonks (years) ago and never finished! Hoping November will be the finishing date!
Enjoy your reads everyone! Loving these challenges and looking at everyone's lists.

I have chosen the word FLATS. The connection with the Melbourne Cup is the Flemington Racecourse where the race is held. The racecourse is situated on the 'flats' of the Marybrynong River. According to its history, the first race meeting at Flemington was held on the rough river 'flats' in March 1840.

Oh that is awesome!!! It's lovely to have a boy first so your following children always have a big brother to look up to :) My daughter told me that and was thrilled when she had her first born as a boy! Glad you're going to stick around for the challenges - at least until the birth ;) You mightn't have a lot of time to read after ;)

I have to admit when I heard that the baby was a boy, I felt a little of the same :).
hahaha now you're scaring me...

LOL. I have George bagged for my granddaughter though I’ll have to stop mucking around as Lily now says that’s my Prince whenever George appears on the TV. It’s kind of a family joke that got out of hand :)
Once the morning sickness passes you’ll enjoy the whole experience.

Thanks Ace, that's very kind :D

Sorry, I guess I/ we got a little excited lol <3

xxx"
Thank you Li'l Owl, it is wonderful news <3. My husband is so excited he's shopping for baby things already - i think the baby is going to have a bigger wardrobe than me by the time he's born lol
