Just Another Group Hurling Under The Strain
Ah, that is so incredibly sweet of you, but seriously, I'd feel I'm jeopardising the whole group. So, I'll just cheer for you, instead. :D
I don't read that much either and it seems to be perfectly fine.
Mayim wrote: "I decided not to sign up for next year. I will be reading less, I expect and I don't want to hold the team down."Mayim you have rocked all year, so if you read much less that's Ok.
I have been thinking of not doing next year either, because I have this problem with competing with myself, I push too much, and I do enjoy breaks with other genres at times, then go back hot and heavy again with Fantasy/Sci-fi.
Also, all the reading this year has taken me away from contributing to the discussions the I enjoyed so much previously. So I am on the fence as well.
Oh no, if you don't participate next year, I claim you as honorary member for whichever team I'm on next year 😜
Frank, I totally get what you mean. Counter argument! - Let what you've said to Mayim apply to you too! XD
I think next year will be much more chilled. We've done the crazy competitive thing now. The new rules are going to reduce the pressure for everything to be a buddy read, so we will feel more able to read outside the genre. Also, you have completely rocked it this year! Give yourself some slack and enjoy the conversations. :D
Choko wrote: "It doesn't matter how much you read! Just be part of the gang and enjoy 😀❤💙💚"And yes, this!! :D
That's all for the kind works. Just don't want to bog the group down. It's true it may be more relaxed next year with the new rules. I may give it a try again.
No one is letting the team down <3
This is all just for fun and I, for one, think that even though we aren't winning, we definitely have the best, most encouraging team.
There were definitely people who got really into it (and that's good for them, lots of fun), but no one needs to feel pressured into reading more than they'd like (or reading books they aren't interested in) just to get points.

I just wanted to say to all, we are quite a resilent group, we are now 28 points from second place.Wow incredible, even though we are all worn out!!
Congrats to every one of you.
I am one of the low contributors to the points and I'm a mod, so I take a pretty chilled approach and read what I want. Maybe I'm just not very competitive. Except at board games! I think we've done so well.
I only do 1-2 buddy reads a month in the group and that gives me time to read the other genres I enjoy.

I haven't contributed that many points either - I don't want worrying about points to make reading stressful. I hope no one feels pressure to read things they aren't interested in or feel like they have to speed read to keep up with Choko.

I'm almost done two books I've been reading so I'll pop those points in soon :)

If we hadn't changed the end date to October you guys might have had a shot to catch us. Great job rallying and passing the Bloody Beagles. But.........you're still the hurlers. :)

Been a very poor week for me. Insane work pressure. But I think I will be able to pull off a late surge in October.
Wow well done, Anni!! :DHope things ease off at work, Arkadeb. Don't worry about a poor week though. Your poor weeks are still better than my good ones XD
In October, I'll have a few schools finished in addition to my regular reading
I have been feeling rather whimsical this weekend. Instead of reading and finishing my fantasy, I have been indulging my love for military history and tackling those instead. I think I will be a bit irregular this last month, but will try to stick to the Buddy Reads that I have committed to.
We are doing great as a group! When some of us are dealing with real life, others pick up the load... Perfect balance 😊

Woohoo! Go team!
Jenna I wrote the exact same as you without seeing your message! I had the tab open on my phone and didn't reload until now! 😂
