I very clearly remember that blissful feeling of completing my exams and knowing that I could finally read all I wanted! Have fun!

I wasn't doing much reading during my college exam years (after binging the first 6 Wheel of Time books my Freshman year, anyway)... but I do remember being glad when exams were over... I was the consummate crammer... I could memorize anything for 24-48hrs...

There were a couple gen ed science courses so easily crammed that I only went to class for the tests...

message 205: by [deleted user] (new)

I don’t like to cram. You see, I am in 8th grade. My dad says that till 10th grade, that is your sophomore year, you can get marks but after +1 and +2, that is your junior and senior year, we get competitive exams which are extremely difficult to pass and that’s the deciding factor for which college we get into. So, there is no use of cramming.

Yea... I learned the "regular way" throughout high school... classes are designed to build on each other... but college has these general sciences/language/math classes that everyone is expected to take that don't really factor into your field of study... THOSE were the classes I crammed for:

Human Physiology, Geography, Health & Nutrition, etc..

Hey everyone! Thought I'd check in and see how everyone's challenge is going. :) First of all, we are doing a great job as far as points go.
What is your favourite book you have read since the challenge started?
And out of curiosity, what was the book that has gotten you the highest amount of points so far?

message 235: by Brian (new)

Brian | 1681 comments Hey peeps! I just crossed over 200 points today!!!!! Sorry been a slow month for me with the new baby. My favorite books so far is “The Way of Kings” by Brandon Sanderson. That’s also the book with the most points.

Nice! And 200 points even without having a newborn is impressive :)

Well done Brian.

My favourite book was Reaper's Gale and it gave me the most points 19.2!

message 238: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries | 2948 comments 11.4 Queen of Fire. One star read. That one was for the team. :D

message 239: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments I can't decide and will pick 3 favourites :)
The Neverending Story, wich is an all-time favourite of mine, loved it as a kid and it doesn't loose its magic for me, many things in there that makes you womderimg what's right and important as an adult too. Nevernight, the beginning was a little strange, but I enjoyed reading it very much and that's the most important point :)
And The Dragonbone Chair, I had this book on my shelf for far too long and I'm glad I finally read it. It's a slow-paced story feeling classic and I loved it right from the start!

I got the most Points (17.4) for The Hero of Ages, but I'm still reading The Way of Kings and I guess this will be even more points.

message 241: by RuinEleint (new)

RuinEleint Back reading after a bit of a slowdown. Should be done with Best Served Cold soon.

Lots of Buddy Reads lined up for this month

message 242: by Chris (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2348 comments My highest point book is Iron Gold, with 10.7 points.

Tower Lord would have tied it, but I've been struggling to make any progress at all. It's shaping up as a potential DNF.

Favorite has probably been the duology of The Power of the Dog & The Cartel

Just had a look and my highest point book was The Way of Kings, 17.8 I think. My next highest ones are around 11 points.

I don't think I can choose a favourite yet, I've had so many awesome reads!!
