Mae sighed and fed Michael trying to get herself calm again, everything was fine...her son was home. Damon chuckled "she's pretty huh? They didn't quite start out well so let's hope they won't kill eachother tonight!"
James swallowed and grinned "I like this place because I don't need to be a gentleman!"
Liv stood up and pulled him to the outside gazebo, she moved his hair out of his eyes and looked deep into them "I've known you barely a day and I already know that you...Demetri, you're something rare and great...you'll have to see it for yourself to believe it though..."
Torch returned to Mae and sat beside her, an arm around her shoulders. "I'm worried about what will happen when he wakes up." He said honestly. "Taylor was fairly upset with him a while ago..."Taylor paused, tipping her head to the side. "Not a good start?" She asked, curious. "What do you mean?"
Emily chuckled softly. "Well I'm glad you don't get embarrassed easy around me..." She shook her head.
Dem followed her out, wincing as he listened to her. Though it was touching, she sounded like his father, and everyone else. Didn't they understand that he had tried to find himself? Dem leaned in and gently let his lips brush hers, just for a second. "You sound like everyone else I know." He whispered, turning and taking off into the skies.
Mae leaned into his shoulder and frowned "he won't let her be mad for long..." She reminded and sighed "I just can't believe running away would solve anything..."Damon told her about the fight during the waiting room, and then in the cafeteria.
James shrugged "I'm married to you, i don't really over worry anymore. I know you love me and I love you."
Liv opened her eyes and he was gone, just like that. She let the tears fall feeling sick. She didn't put herself out there easily and he just...left. She payed for dinner grateful to have brought her wallet along and headed back to the hospital.
Torch nodded, sighing. "People tend to be impulsive at that age..." he closed his eyes and shook his head. "I just hope he doesn't try that again..."Taylor's eyes widened a little. Finally she huffed. "Well no offence to him, but Dem has always needed someone to humble him a bit and knock some sense into him." she said, shrugging.
Emily smiled. "You got that right." She agreed, shaking her head. "I would love you no matter what. It's more fun when you're not worrying anyways."
Dem had soared away as quickly as possible, feeling only pain and self hatred. Why he bottled up his feelings, he didn't know. But he had had to get away before they sprang free in front of a girl he barely knew. He landed near a lake, immediately diving and swimming to the bottom, where no human nor demon could bother him.
Mae nodded and sighed "I don't think he will, he understands now...doesn't mean he won't do something stupid later."Damon chuckled and nodded "right, I think you and Ash have that covered till Liv showed up."
James nodded and kissed her "want to go for ice cream after? Your favorite is down here after all."
Liv had another doctor take over Ashlynn's care so she didn't have to see him. She dove right into surgery after surgery keeping her mind and hands busy so she wouldn't feel that ache in her heart and feel his lips on hers...she'd never let anyone in again.
Torch nodded, heaving a sigh. "I know. That's what I'm worried about..." He said honestly, chewing at his lip. "I worry that I'll cause him to do something like that again."Taylor rolled her eyes. "Sure... sure." She shook her head. "By the way. You and Mom are slacking. Zach has another sibling, and I don't!" She teased.
Emily smiled and nodded eagerly, trying to finish her meat quickly so they could go get icecream. "Do I? Is that even a question?" she joked.
Dem wrapped his wings around himself and let his shoulders feel the weight of the water on top of him. He needed time to think, to stuff all his emotions back inside him again. She brought them out too easily, something he didn't know he was afraid of. He just wanted to go back to being a protector for his sisters.
Mae nudged him "he's a boy, they do dumb things...we'll be there to pick him back up."Damon nipped at her nose "is that so?...I thought you didn't like when me and mom make love."
James laughed a finished his drink "I know you."
Liv slumped in the supply closet, and threw her scrub cap off and sobbed hating herself. She told him things she never told anyone and he just...left.
Torch nodded, smiling then. "You're right, as usual." He kissed her gently. "What would I do without you?"Taylor smirked, "I'm more mature now Dad." She said, lifting her chin a little.
Emily nodded, swallowing the last piece. "Ok. Let's go!" She grabbed his hand and tugged him from the table and towards the door.
Dem swallowed and nodded a little to himself. That was exactly what he was going to do. Shooting out of the lake, he shook himself to dry off a little and flew back down to the hospital, intent on caring for Ashlynn.
Mae shook her head "let's hope you never have to find out!" She pecked his nose "I love you."Damon smirked "don't grow up too fast...you are still my little girl!"
James laughed dumping the cash and rushing after her.
Ashlynn was upset her arms folded "I don't like the new doctor...he's mean..."
Torch smiled softly, tucking her bangs behind her ear. "You know I love you." he whispered, kissing her gently. "And always will."Taylor smiled, leaning back against him. "Yeah. I know. But seriously. I want another sibling." She said, smiling softly and closing her eyes. "Then we would have an even number."
Emily let her wings out and tried her hardest to get off the ground. She managed to soar up a little bit, before she started to sink down to the ground again.
Dem frowned a little as he walked in, raising an eyebrow. "New doctor?" he repeated, coming beside her. "What about the old one?"
Mae nodded and kissed him back "good...cause I'm keeping you forever."Damon chuckled "ill work on it ok? But after all of you are well and good. Your mom doesn't like being pregnant."
James smiled "you're trying too hard, just let go...like this." He showed in slow motion.
Ashlynn sighed "I don't know...he just said she's off the case...he poked with needles and won't let me eat!"
Torch laughed softly. "You've got my heart in chains." He agreed, kissing her cheek. "Irony if you think of where we started." He smiled. Taylor nodded, satisfied. "I can live with that." She kissed his cheek. "Thanks for talking with me. I'm going downstairs to get a snack." She said, skipping away.
Emily nodded, following his instructions and let the air lift her wings. She giggled in excitement, thrilled that she was soaring higher.
Dem chewed his lip, suddenly realizing that Liz might have taken his departure personally. He swore softly and shook his head. "Did he say where she can be found?" he asked hopefully.
Mae laughed and nodded "my shoulder is healed though...I'm covered in scars and I couldn't be happier!"Damon smiled and followed her grabbing the rest of the Mac and cheese "Zach did a good job!"
James laughed and followed her "there you go honey..."
Ashlynn sniffed looking at him "I don't know...surgery probably...I liked her..."
Torch laughed then, shaking his head. He let his fingers trace over her shoulder. "Quite the battle wound." he mused, smiling. Taylor nodded weakly, sighing to herself. "he still hasn't come back yet..." She commented, grabbing some of the food for herself.
Emily grinned, laughing in delight. "Thank you! For teaching me! This is so cool!"
Dem nodded. "I might be able to get her back again." He promised, kissing her forehead. "Only the best for you, angel." He smiled and got up, wandering out into the halls to try and find Liz. He started asking nurses, hoping they could direct him to her.
Mae shivered and smiled "you would have one too if you didn't heal." She reminded and nuzzled his chest.Damon sighed "I think he's asleep, he was sick when he was here..."
James smiled "it comes in handy! Don't get tired..." he warned looking back at her.
The nurse sighed and hitched her thumb to the supply closet "she's in there...I don't think she wants to be bothered."
Torch nodded and smiled. "That I would." he agreed, running his fingers through her hair. "But unfortunately. I do heal." He smiled. Taylor nodded slowly, sighing. "Alright. I hope he wakes up soon..." She murmured, eating her pasta.
Emily nodded, able to keep her wings strong, for now. "I'm doing ok." She promised.
Dem nodded, walking over. He leaned his forehead on the door and sighed. "Liz? It's me. I just wanted to say sorry for leaving like that. I didn't mean it as any personal offence to you. I just had to..." He paused, shoving his emotions back deep again. "I'm sorry." He sighed. "Ashlynn says you're a great doctor and she wants you back again." He stood up from the door once more. "I'll... I'll stop bothering you now." He said, walking back towards Ash's room.
Mae smiled and sighed in relief "thank goodness you do...or else i wouldn't have a husband."Damon smiled "are you going to yell at him?"
James landed and grabbed her hand "little shop of ice cream...pick your doom!"
Liv dried her tears and shook her head going after him "wait...what did I do? I thought we were having an ok time...I don't open up to anyone and you left me to pay the bloody bill and cry in the supply closet!"
Torch laughed softly. "I suppose that's one way to think of it. I kind of feel like a zombie though."Taylor thought for a moment. "I want to. But I want to hug him too. Do you think he deserves it?"
Emily giggled with excitement and ran inside, gasping when she saw all the flavors. "Oh my... well brimstone ripple for sure... but all these others.... they look so good!"
Dem winced, and then winced again as she fired blow after blow. He fished into his pocket and managed to pull out a few bills. "That should cover dinner." He said, handing them to her. "But you did nothing wrong. I was serious when I said I wasn't trying to hurt you or anything by leaving.... I... I just needed a breather." He said honestly, not looking her in the eye.
Mae smiled and nudged her nose against his "you are a sexy zombie..."Zach had flown out the window and into her bedroom "firefly?..."
James laughed "no one said you had to have just one flavor!"
Liv chucked the bills at his face "don't! Just don't Demetri, I don't want to see you. I don't want your excuses, you know how I can't trust men or anybody and you leave."
Torch smiled slowly, pecking her lips, his forehead against hers. "You think so? I though you were scared of zombies."Taylor turned, looking more surprised than anything. She had not been expecting to see him so soon. She ran over and threw her arms around him, "You're alive!" She cried. Then she pulled away and punched his arms as hard as she could. "And that's for lying to me!"
Emily grinned and rubbed her hands together. "In that case..." She wiggled her eyebrows at him.
That struck a nerve and Dem swallowed, nodding numbly. He had tried to apologize, and explain that he really hadn't meant to hurt her. He opened his mouth to say something, and then remembered what she said two seconds before 'I don't want to see you. I don't want your excuses'. So he just shook his head and turned, walking away again. Dem had retreated far into himself, too hurt to surface again in a long time.
Mae shook her head "dolls and clowns but zombies are easy to defeat!"Zach hugged her and then gasped "ow!" He rubbed his arm he looked at her and sighed "ok I deserved that..."
James ordered a huge cone with every flavor and passed it to her "enjoy it!"
Liv slammed her fist into the wall, and winced as she felt her bones break and swore because now she couldn't operate. She was chipping away till nothing was left but a sad little girl
Torch raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying that I'm easy to defeat?" He challenged, grinning. Taylor nodded as tears flooded her eyes again. "Yes you did." She mumbled, burying her face in his neck as she dissolved against him.
Emily grinned, "Look. Its a sugary leaning tower of Pisa. Now... help me eat it before it melts!" She said, biting off a bit from the top scoop.
Dem headed back to Ashley's room, his eyes sort of dull and glassy. "I need to head home for a bit Ash, I promise I'll be back soon." He said softly, kissing her cheek before taking off again. The second he was air born the long pent up tears sprang free and he found himself crying.
Mae nodded and nipped his neck "very easy..."Zach held her close and sat on her bed letting her cry "I love you firefly...I'm going to marry you when we are older ok?"
James laughed and bit into the medium scoop, it was like a French kiss in ice cream.
Ashlynn sat by herself, she didn't know what to do. Dem left and Liv wasn't her doctor.
Liv erased her name from the hospital board and left going home. A place she didn't even recognize.
Torch shook his head, trying to resist her charm, but failing miserably. "You shall not defeat me..." He mumbled. Taylor nodded, crying into his shirt. "Yes. That sounds good." she whispered, sniffling as she tried to stop crying again.
Emily grinned at him over the cone, trying flavor after flavor. She couldn't get enough! If hell got one thing right, it was their icecream.
Finding that he couldn't fly with his eyes all watery, Dem was forced to crash land who knows where, still in hell. He didn't care where he was right right now, he could only feel the shards of pain in his heart. Her words, they tore him, tore at his protective nature, tore what little confidence he had had before. Dem wrapped himself in his wings and let himself cry.
Mae nipped his sweet spots over and over "I think I will..."Zach lay next to her and held her close "I was going to come back...I never was going to leave you..."
James laughed and kissed her deeply "that adds flavor..."
Liv went up to earth, she was trying to find him. She needed to make this right, reading the address she followed it. All of the sudden a car came out of nowhere and she was hit pinned against a tree.
Torch moaned and slacked, sighing. "You win..." he muttured, closing his eyes and smiling.Taylor bit her lip, looking over at him then. "I thought you were. I thought you were gone forever." She said honestly, tucking herself closer beside him.
Emily grinned, kissing his nose which got icecream on it. "It sure does." She agreed, slurping down some more icecream as she giggled.
Lexi had been walking by when she saw a car swerve and actually his someone on the sidewalk. Gasping, she ran over and tried to push the car away to free her. "Damon!" She called, not being strong enough. "I need help over here!"
Mae smiled "it's very unfortunate that I just had a baby..."Zach kissed her head "never...I'd go insane without my firefly..."
James laughed "you look cute with ice cream on your face!"
Damon ran out and swore "it's dr Olivia!" He tried to push the car with help from the driver of the car.
Torch smiled wider then. "Yes. Yes it is. You have stitches in your stomach miss magoo, you need to rest."Taylor smiled then, squeezing his hand. "I love you, Zach. I don't know if I have said that yet..."
Emily laughed softly and wiped it off quickly. "So do you." She teased.
Lexi scooped up the doctor when the boys moved the car far enough away that she could be moved. "We need to get her to a hospital." Lexi said, taking off and flying to the nearest hospital on earth.
Mae nuzzled him and rubbed her stomach "it hurts..." Zach grinned and nuzzled her nose "you haven't! It's just so perfect! I'm so happy!"
James finished it off and kissed her lovingly and ran his fingers through her hair.
Damon swallowed and called Demetri "you need to get to the hospital here."
Torch nodded, feeling badly for her. "Can I help in any way? " he asked hopefully.Taylor giggled and shook her head. "You are so optomistic." She teased.
Emily closed her eyes and melted against him, sighing softly. "Thanks. For everything." She whispered.
Dem curled his wings tighter around himself. He didnt want to see anyone right now. He felt dead on the inside. 'Im afraid thats not a possibility. ' he replied hollowly.
Lexi got Liv checked in at the hospital and made sure the doctors had started working on her before she allowed herself to relax.
Mae guided his hand over the incision and sighed "rub softly?...please?" Zach nudged her nose with his "just because yours is so contagious, and I'm happy that you love me!"
James nodded and held her close kissing her hair "want to head back?"
Damon swallowed hearing the pain in his voice and thoughts "it's Dr. Olivia...she's in critical care at the hospital. She was hit by a car right outside the house..."
Torch nodded, "Of course." He whispered, rubbing very gently. "Anything for you."Taylor laughed and shook her head. "You're a hopeless romantic, you know that?" She teased, resting her forehead against his collar bone.
Emily nodded, smiling. "Yes. That might be a good idea." She agreed, squeezing his hand gently.
Dem tensed and he moaned softly to himself. Could this day get any worse? "I'm on my way." He thought back softly, taking off and flying towards the hospital.
Lexi walked back out into the waiting room once Liv was admitted and she sighed softly. "Is Dem coming?" She asked.
Mae sighed happily "I love you...you hands are magical..."Zach smiled and rubbed her back "yeah for being nine I'm not too shabby..."
James smiled "do you want to move in with me Emily?"
Damon nodded and looked up at her "he seems really depressed."
Torch chuckled softly. "Their hardly magical, but I'm glad I could help." He said, smiling down at her. "Are you feeling ok?" He asked, forever worried about how she was doing, especially after the pregnancy. Taylor shook her head. "Mhm." Then she smiled mischeiviously. "We can change out age now... now that we're older than eight." She said. She thought hard and made herself shrink down to a toddler. "See?"
Emily thought about that for a moment, tapping her finger against her chin. "I'd love to!" She exclaimed. "But I have to sell my apartment then, and get that all finalized. Then I could move in." Then she had a thought. "But what about your sister, London? Doesn't she live with you?"
Lexi bit her lip, not liking the sound of that. "Depressed depressed?" She asked softly. "Or just having a bad day?"
Dem flew into the hospital and asked a nurse to direct him to her room. When he saw her he paled a little, his heart clenching. "Liv... I just came to say I'm sorry." He whispered. "And... I know you probably can't hear me right now... but I just hope you don't hate me..." He sighed. "I... I guess I'll be going now..."
Mae shook her head and kissed him "I love you...and I'm.fine, I can't have you worrying about me all my life."Zach shook his head "I still want to go to school and age the right way!"
James shook his head "she moved in with Mark and Vallee. Ill help you move it will be fun!"
Damon sighed "I don't know...he seems like a shell though."
Liv grabbed his hand "don't...stay please..." she whispered turning to look at him.
Torch smiled, kissing her back. "Oh baby, I will always worry about you. I love you, remember?" he asked, taking her hand in his. Taylor laughed softly. "I know silly, I'll age with you. But its fun to play around when we're at home..." She said, switching back to her regular self.
Emily nodded, grinning. "Then yes, I'd love to move in with you." She kissed him quickly and wrapped her arm around him as they walked out again.
Lexi frowned a little. "A shell..." She looking up at him. "Damon... do you think that is our fault? Did we do something wrong that would make him that way?"
Dem stopped, watching her turn over. He didn't move, but he didn't smile either. He wasn't sure he was capable of smiling anymore. He felt so hollow... empty. She had torn at his nature, and he was too weak to pull back.
Mae nodded and yawned "Can you watch Michael tonight? I'm just so tired..."Zach made himself look like early twenties "I want to kiss you...really kiss you."
Damon sighed "I don't know...maybe it's just everything with Ash abd...i don't know."
Liv was struggling, when she didn't see him smile she felt sick. She had broke him, she wanted him back...she collapsed her hand dropping
Torch nodded. "Of course honey. Get some rest." He urged, tucking her in again. "You need it." He said softly, smiling. Taylor looked up at him and smiled softly, shifting herself so she matched his age. "I think that can be arranged..." She whispered, looking up into his eyes.
Lexi bit her lip, shaking her head. "What..." She hugged Damon. "What do we do about it?"
Dem immediately pressed the emergency button and doctors and nurses flooded the room, ushering him out. He didn't resist. he just plopped down tiredly in the hospital chairs that he once hated so much.
Mae sighed and nuzzled the pillow "my milk is in the fridge...he gets hungry around 2..."Zach cupped her face "wow...you are beautiful..."
Damon sighed and looked up to see him "Demetri come here please..."
Torch nodded. "Got it." He said. "Milk in the fridge, I feed him at 2. Anything else I need to know?"Taylor flushed deeply and shook her head. "I'm not that amazing Zach. You on the other hand..." She smiled a little.
Dem looked up slowly and nodded, pulling himself back out of the chair. He walked over and stood near him, waiting for what his father wanted.
Lexi couldn't stand how Dem looked right now. The look in his eyes scared her and she had to stifle a gasp. She quickly excused herself and ran to the washroom before anyone could see her start crying.
Mae sighed "he likes to cuddle on the shoulder more then laying down in my arms..."Zach kissed her deeply and curled his fingers in her curls "I love you..."
Damon sat down with him "what's going on? I feel like your slipping away from me right in front of my eyes..." he said scared.
Torch nodded, kissing her forehead and rubbing her bangs back with his thumb. "Get some rest. I've got this. I promise." He said, smiling. He flicked out the light and quietly left her room, going to get Michael for his feeding. Taylor closed her eyes and let herself enjoy this strange new feeling. She inched a little closer and smiled. "I... love you too..." she whispered.
Dem looked at his hands. "I..." he swallowed. I'm fine... "Liv and I fought. It's ok now. I said sorry." He promised, sighing softly.
Zach pulled her closer around her waist and kissed down her jaw and neck. He felt out of control and it felt so great! Damon sighed and took his hand and squeezed it "what happened? Come on I used to think that we had a bond that we could talk about anything. I love you."
Taylor moaned softly pulling herself closer. Her heart was pounding out of control, and though this was new and scary, it was thrilling. She raked her fingers through his hair. Dem looked up then, no emotion on his features. "I was telling the truth." he said softly. "Liv and I fought. That's all that happened. It's nothing time wont heal."
Zach pulled back biting his lip "your sister...I don't want that to happen to you..." he was scared, he was still a little boy.Damon frowned "you like her?...Dem, I've never seen you like this...what did she do?!"
Taylor had frowned at first, then she nodded, chewing on her lip. "You're right." She whispered, sighing. "We should wait... wait till we're older..."Dem didn't know how to explain it. He didn't know how to say what she had done to his confidence, to his identity, when he had so little of one in the first place. So he just closed his eyes and opened up his mind to his father, so he could see everything for himself.
Zach formed back to his nine year old self and sighed "I'm still this boy, but kissing you was the best thing ever!" Damon gasped and hugged his boy "I'm sorry Dem...but I think that she really was just trying to help..." He shook his head "she was looking for you when she got hit...she likes you."
Taylor shrank back as well, tucking herself against him. "I still love you." she whispered, kissing him gently. "Waiting wont be so bad, if we're waiting together."Dem sighed softly. "Regardless... I need to go home." he huffed. "I'm tired Dad, and cold inside. I need time to myself." He said softly. He really just felt like lying in bed and going to sleep for a long time. He was so tired.
Zach nodded and nudged her "I love you...yeah, we'll do it right. But I still want to morph and kiss you every now and then."Damon nodded "do you want me to keep you updated?...or not."
Taylor took a good long look and then nodded, satisfied. "Ok. I approve." She said, nodding.
Emily laughed, shaking her head in amusement. "Don't forget to swallow." She teased, taking another bite of her own meal.
Dem sighed, deflating a little. "Yeah... that's pretty spot on actually." he said, huffing.
