McKensie and Lara

Mae held him close and sighed resting her head on his chest "it's just so soon...I know it says it only takes 8 days for it to work, but..." She trailed off, she was scared and she wasn't sure how this would affect her test with the Elders.

Torch nodded, stroking a hand through her hair. "It's ok. You'll be ok. We'll work through this, ok?" He said, hugging her against him.

Mae sighed and nodded snuggling against him "will the Elders be upset?..." She asked looking up into his eyes and running her fingers through his hair.

Torch sighed softly, nodding reluctantly. "Yes they will. But don't worry. You wont be in trouble." He assured. "I probably will, for doing it with you. But they wont blame you." He assured her.

Mae gripped onto him tightly "no! I won't let them..." She was terrified to lose him "you need to be junior's daddy..."

Torch hugged her against him, his hand resting on her head. "Hey. It's ok. I'll still be the father." He said softly, running his hand over her head slowly. "They wont kill me Mae. But they wont let it go unnoticed. It's a strict rule not to well... impregnate anyone before the month is up. It creates complications." he explained. "I'll be ok, alright? I regenerate, remember?"

Mae sniffed tears streaming down her cheeks "isn't there anything I can do to clear your name? I don't want them to hurt you...I love you, there is no complications...everything is still going as planned!"

Torch shook his head. "I'm afraid not. Unless you aren't really pregnant, there isn't anything you can do." He kissed her forehead gently. "I have to tell them that you're with child Mae. They will kill me if we hide it. They will kill both of us. I'd rather they punish me, than kill us both." He said softly, begging her to understand. "I'll be ok." He promised again, more worried about her than himself.

Mae sighed and caressed his cheek knowing there wasn't anyway around it. She nodded slowly and more tears streamed down. "I understand...but I want to come with you when you tell them..."

Torch leaned into her touch, but he paled at her request. "No Mae." He whispered, shaking his head a little. "I don't want you to watch." He said softly, looking down at her, his eyes filling with pain.

Just then a note whizzed through the air, it was black parchment with red writing. Mae took it and paled "they want to meet with us both...and I have to get a doctor's exam." She gave him the note.

Torch swore, his hands clenching into fists. "I really don't agree with them sometimes." He growled. "Ok. Well. I guess we have to go to hell." He said, shaking his head. "Hold on." he told her, his wings spreading. he dove at the floor, but passed right through it, as if falling into a deep dark well with Mae in his arms. he pumped his wings, leveling out as an orangey red glow grew up ahead. He landed right in front of the massive black cast iron gates.

Mae blinked amazed, her eyes glowed so she could see in the dark. The gates opened and a tall dark overt attractive guy glowered at them "they are waiting for you in the main hall."

"Right." Torch said, marching past. He was rather stiff, his eyes glowing with a certain fire that only showed when he was frustrated or angry. He made sure to walk at a pace Mae could keep up with however, as he guided her towards the large, black marble building and into the cavernous main hall.

Mae couldn't take it all in, it was intimidating but beautiful. She glanced at Torch he was practically sizzling with anger she squeezed his hand lightly trying to help. The main hall had a long table with many types of people a woman stood when they entered. She looked at a woman in a white doctor's coat "Doctor, will you escort Mae to the exam room?"

The woman walked over, hands in the pockets of her white coat. She smiled at Mae gesturing for her to follow.
Torch sighed softly, resigning to their fate. He kissed her cheek. "See you after this is all over, ok?" He asked, watching as the doctor pulled Mae into another room. Then he turned back and faced the remaining people in the room. "Let's get this over with shall we?" He asked, walking over slowly, but staying a few paces away.

Mae sighed and followed the woman into a typical looking doctors exam room, except the walls were black and the table. She looked at the doctor nervously, she hated any doctor and now it literally was He'll.
The woman sat down and glanced at the leader in the center as he stood up. "Torch, we expected more from you. Deliberately disobeying out rules...causing your turned to be in pain and burdened with a child. We cannot do anything until the Doctor confirms she is carrying."

The doctor smiled at her gently. "This will only take a minute darling. Put this on please." She said, handing Mae a thin hospital gown. Once the girl was changed, the doctor motioned to the bed, asking her to hop up. "Feet here please." She said, pointing to the stirrups. "Relax honey." She said, before pulling out a couple instruments. She inserted them one by one into Mae, nodding the whole time. Then she went to the door. "You can put your clothes on." She said, before leaving to join everyone in the main hall. "She's pregnant." She announced.
Torch ignored their comments, just glaring darkly. Yeah sure. He was disobeying. But it was for the women he loved. And he didn't regret his actions. However, he had been hoping that Mae might not be pregnant. The doctor's words shattered that hope.

Mae just stared at the ceiling after she left, they would hurt him now...there was no doubt about it she was going to be a mom. She sat up and got dressed heading back out to Torch and looked at him with tearful eyes as she held onto his side.
The leader nodded at the doctor and glared at Torch "Take him to the torture room...do regular prodical and then send them back up. There will be no test now because of her condition, but she will deliver the baby here."
Mae shook her head refusing to let him go as the guards tried to take him "No!"

Torch pulled Mae away from his side, knowing fighting would just make everything harder. "Hey. Shhh. Shhhh. I'll be alright. I shouldn't be gone more than an hour." He promised. "I'll see you soon." He promised, letting the others hold Mae as he was pulled away from her.

Mae burst into tears and sank to the floor as the demons took her into a waiting room where they got her everything she would need for the pregnancy. She didn't care, all she wanted was Torch. An hour went by and she looked up as the door opened "Torch?..."

Torch was assisted to Mae as it was hard for him to walk at the moment. With his shirt back on, he almost looked normal, but if he were to take it off, it would be easy to see that he was not. He stumbled to a chair near her, panting. "Hey lovely." He whispered.

Mae went to him and cupped his face wincing at what she saw "Oh Torch..." She wanted to hug him but she knew that would hurt him even more. She took his hand and kissed it gently "I'm so sorry...I love you, let's go home...and get you in bed..."

Torch nodded weakly, too tired and in pain to resist. "love you too." He whispered. He looked up at her in worry. "Think you can get us out of here? I don't think I can fly." he admitted softly.

Mae nodded and supported him carefully as she slowly unfurled her wings. She slowly managed to carry them back to their home and led him to the bedroom as she took off his shirt and cried out looking at the marks "Torch..."
Damon looked up "They are back, and at home. Let's get this to go." He said urgently.

Lexi nodded, sharing his urgency. "Ok." She agreed, waiting for the waiter to bring their food. She asked for boxes for it and packed it away, quickly getting up and leaving with Damon.

Damon drove to the house and used the side key to get in "Mae? Torch?" He could hear crying and froze worriedly.

Lexi raced towards the crying. "Mae!" She called. "Mae are you alright?" She asked.

Mae sniffed and looked up at her friends "I'm fine..." She assured drying her eyes. And trying to smile at Lexi since she looked so panicked.

Lexi hugged her friend. "What happened?" She asked softly, worried about her. She had not seen Torch's back yet, so she had no idea what was going on. No idea what was wrong.

Damon blinked shocked by the news, he carefully wiped healing cooling ointment on his back and wrapped it up "it's a black whip...you won't heal automatically...I'd say congrats but...I'm sorry you had to go through that."

torch sighed and relaxed as the burning pain on his back lessened. "Thanks." He said softly, once his back was wrapped. "It's ok. It was bearable." He assured him. "Not fun. But bearable."

Lexi grinned. "That sounds amazing!" She hugged her. "You have to let me know how things are going all the time, ok? I want a full report." she said seriously, smiling.

-the week of testing-
Mae had a noticeable bump now and was laying with Torch watching a movie, she smiled up at him very glad they didn't have to stress about testing.
Damon and Lex on the other hand were working as hard as marathon runners. Practicing every skill over and over, hand to hand combat and flying techniques she was going to have to be perfect!

Lexi was panting by the time she finally landed, and she stumbled a bit as she touched down her legs were so weak. "How much longer?" She asked.

Damon sighed and held her to steady her "we are done...let's get you a snack and some water. Sorry for pushing you so hard baby..."

Lexi relaxed thankfully, her whole body feeling shaky and tight from the strain. But she definitely was stronger. There was no doubt about that. "No its ok. I understand. That's your job. Stop apologizing." she said, smiling a little as she wobbled into the house.

Damon followed her in and made her a snack and got her a water bottle. He kissed her head "you are going to blow them away tomorrow!"

"Thanks." Lexi said, smiling up at him. She twisted open the bottle quickly and took two long gulps before putting it down and starting on the apple he had gotten her.

Damon nodded and ate his sandwich, he watched her and smiled about how far she had come and how he fell more in love with her everyday. "So I was thinking we take it easy tonight"

Lexi looked up from her food and smiled. "Sounds lovely." She agreed, eager to spend a nice evening with him. "Haven't had some quiet time with you in a while." she mused, drinking some more. "Have anything particular you want to do?"

Damon smiled "cuddle up and watch a scary movie with dipped strawberries and popcorn."

Lexi grinned. "Sounds fun. But I might scream. Is that ok with you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Then she let her playful smile show.

Damon chuckled "you can hold onto me...I'll protect you, though seriously what's more scary then what you have already seen?"

Lexi shoved him playfully. "That's different. I love you. But I certainly don't love the monsters on tv. Nor do I relate to them." She said, wrinkling up her nose and shaking her head.

Damon smiled and poked her nose "I'll protect you, or we can watch a sappy chick flick and you'll cry and I'll think of how unrealistic it is."

Lexi laughed. "That is actually what I would do." She agreed. "We can watch whatever you want." She offered, smiling a little. "I want to see something you like." She smiled.
Torch froze. Already!? They did it, once... and she was already pregnant? His heart started to hammer. This meant a lot of changes had to happen to prepare for the child. He swallowed slowly, walking over to her and pulling her into his arms. He kissed her head gently. "You'll make an amazing mother." he assured.
