I had fun looking through your shelves, although I had to stretch myself a bit to find some new recommendations for you. I hope you like them.

1. Best Picture: Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews is amazing. There is a twist on all the paranormal creatures and you'll want to be an innkeeper by the time you finish. Shifting Dreams by Elizabeth Hunter is set in a small town of shifters in California who hire a human sheriff and don't tell him the town secret so he is at a disadvantage when murder happens. I loved the characters in the town.

Clean Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles, #1) by Ilona Andrews Shifting Dreams (Cambio Springs, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter

2. Best Director: Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase sounds pretty interesting, I like plucky heroines. Or check out Mistress by Amanda Quick where the heroine believes the hero dead so decides to pose as his mistress to figure out who is blackmailing her family.

Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase Mistress by Amanda Quick

3. Lead Actor/Actress: Well I'm pretty sure the MC is named Jack in this book - You Don't Know Jack by Erin McCarthy. Since you grew up in the 80s, this book might be like a stroll down memory lane because even though it takes place in the dystopian future, much of the plot is about an interactive VR world with memories of the past as the MC becomes famous the closer he gets to winning the big contest in Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

You Don't Know Jack (Sexy in NYC, #2) by Erin McCarthy Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

4. Adapted Screenplay: Ok, I took the easy way out and went for square shaped objects on the cover. First from your TBR is Dog Collar Crime by Adrienne Giordano which was a fun romp with a family "connected" to the mob. Or check out Truly, Madly by Heather Webber where the MC's family have a "gift" for matchmaking but hers was twisted to being able to find objects which isn't that helpful when you have to temporarily take over the family matchmaking business. Fun and kooky families in both these books.

Dog Collar Crime (Lucie Rizzo Mystery, #1) by Adrienne Giordano Truly, Madly (Lucy Valentine, #1) by Heather Webber

5. Foreign Language: Show No Mercy by Cindy Gerard sounding interesting. Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff has the MC and her cat familiar taking over a boarding house that has a hole to hell in the basement.

Show No Mercy (Black Ops, #1) by Cindy Gerard Summon the Keeper (Keeper Chronicles #1) by Tanya Huff

6. Red Carpet: Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder is an awesome read where the MC is let out of jail and given the choice of being executed or becoming the king's new poison tester. It is an intriguing world and learning about poison was interesting. Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie the MC is a Fury who is investigating a dead sister Fury. I like the mythological twists to some of the standard paranormal creatures.

Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Red Hot Fury (Shades of Fury, #1) by Kasey MacKenzie

7. Jimmy Kimmel Hosts: This book is both 1st in series and humorous as the bunny shifter works for Furry United Coalition and is sent to protect a bear shifter in Bunny and the Bear by Eve Langlais. Semi-Charmed by Isabel Jordan can't stop predicting vampire attacks even though the agency has been discredited so she needs to find a partner/slayer to help her save people even though it is outside the law now.

Bunny and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #1) by Eve Langlais Semi-Charmed (Harper Hall Investigations #1) by Isabel Jordan

8. The Razzie Awards (Golden Raspberry Awards): We've got a couple bad boys in She's Gotta Be Mine by Jennifer Skully - after all what could be more bad than possibly being a serial killer? Surprisingly this book is a humorous romance. Or check out the UF James Bond type with Eddie Drood being thrown out of his powerful family and being chased by everyone in The Man With the Golden Torc by Simon R. Green.

She's Gotta Be Mine (Cottonmouth #1) by Jennifer Skully The Man With the Golden Torc (Secret Histories, #1) by Simon R. Green
