Yes Sally906, it's the first book of her MaddAdam trilogy. Books 2 and 3 are The Year of the Flood and MaddAddam. Dystopian and about genetic engineering.

Oh, good to hear you found the rest of the series intriguing Phrynne. I'd read some mixed reviews so wasn't sure if I'd read more, but they're highly rated. And I enjoyed the genetic engineering twist more than the fertility and patriarchal twists of The Handmaid's Tale.

If I remember it gets very involved as the series progresses. It is very thought provoking. I five starred the third book so I must have really liked it:)

R - Rating higher than 4: Have a Little Faith: a True Story by Mitch Albom. A solid 5 ★ I admit that I have loved all of Albom's books that I have read & this was no exception. He has such a gift for saying profound things in a seemingly simple way.

Last week I finished my 20th for this challenge: Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, which I give 3★.
Now to read 6 books in just under 2 months. Easily done!

A friend from my book club told me I had to read it and loaned it to me. Figured it was time to find out what all the fuss was about. Not sure that I've figured it out.
