2016 May Pick-It-For-Me-Challenge

Wow! You have a tons of books on your shelves, it is very impressive! It did make is a bit more of a challenge to find new books for you, but it was fun. I hope you enjoy your picks!

1. Luke Skywalker: Check out an amazing book by Ilona Andrews with Clean Sweep where there is a lot more to being an innkeeper and certain heroes are going to learn there is a lot more to this world than they realized. The MC in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evie by Marianne Stillings is a passionate about her beliefs as she works to figure out if her employer was killed and if so by whom, with the help of a cop.



2. R2D2/C3PO: Definitely check out Ready Player One by Ernest Cline as it is a pretty unique story set in a dystopian future where people spend most their lives in a virtual world. Or look into this funny parody of Star Trek with Redshirts by John Scalzi



3. Princess Leia: Siblings are covered with Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey. This was a fun read where an ex is bribed into attending a family trip and much humor follows. Or follow a Fury as she looks into the death of a sister with Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie



4. Han Solo: I'm pretty sure a hitman qualifies as a bad boy hero and and this book is chock full of quirky characters - Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie. Huntress by Nicole Hamlett, Grace could medal in snarky. Interesting premise of finding out you're supposed to protect Earth when you are a newly, single mother and out of shape on top of it.



5. Obi-Wan Kenobi: Lots of characters who are basically immortal as they are the descendants of gods, but the groups have differing values and Nikki must chose her way in Dark Descendant by Jenna Black. Mortimer and Roderick have raised Mortimer's grandsons and are now determined to see them settled as they interfere in their lives, starting with Max in Here Comes Trouble by Leslie Kelly



6. Yoda: Sheltered Louisa is ready to live and looks to Sam to show her the way in Double Dare by Rhonda Nelson. Morgan ends up working at the Magical Beings Rehabilitation Center helping the beings learn how to fit in with humans in My Life at the M.B.R.C. by K.M. Shea



7. Chewbecaa/Ewoks: An excellent UF series starts with Tempting Danger by Eileen Wilks in which cop Lily is looking for a killer werewolf and local werewolf "prince" Rule is her prime suspect. Or take a lighthearted stroll into shapeshifters with Ready to Were by Robyn Peterman were Essie is sent back home to investigate some missing were's and must deal with "mean girl" shifters and an unresolved romantic relationship.



8. Darth Vadar: Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs has a very evil character as Mercy learns a lot more about the fae. Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff is good vs evil as Claire and her familiar Austin end up at a guest house to keep an evil Keeper from waking and the hole to Hell in the basement from growing.



Bonus: The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is a great fantasy book which continues to switch between the past and current time as the story unfolds. Or head out with the Space Marines with Phule's Company by Robert Asprin as Phule is the new officer of the dregs of the dregs company and builds them up by making them believe in themselves (and having tons of money to spend doesn't hurt)

NEW: The Secret by Julie Garwood - I'm not a fan of Garwood historicals but this one was exeptional good and includes an almost-sister and some real siblings

Hi fleurette, thanks for the picks...they look great! Sorry about the preferred shelf, I normally have more on it than I did this month, but things kind of got away from me. You did a fantastic job though, even with my pathetic offerings! [TBR] All I Want -- looks like a nice clean cut boy on the cover, plus he's in law enforcement. So, I think it fits the bill.
[NEW] Second Chance Summer -- this is a new series by Jill Shalvis. I just recently read it and the hero is a pretty great guy. Plus both main characters experience personal growth here.

[TBR] The Mistake -- heroine is shy and kind of geeky. I really liked this one, but really liked the first one too.
[NEW] Attachments -- Very cute story with a geeky character as well as having email play a very important role to the story.

[TBR] Servicing the Target -- Being a Domme is certainly kick ass. Enjoy reading about Mistress Anne.
[NEW] On the Edge -- The writing duo that makes up Ilona Andrews certainly knows how to write a kick ass heroine. You haven't read this series, but if you like their writing, you will like this one.

[TBR] Wicked Ride -- this hero certainly sounds like a bad boy
[NEW] The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel -- hero is a deliciously bad boy :)


Obi-Wan Kenobi
[TBR] Almost a Goddess -- according to the book description, she's over 100 years old
[NEW] Lucky Charm -- this was cute and it features (secondarily at least) the older generation of Corwin men who are at least older if not wise. LOL

[TBR] No Promises Required -- looks the virgin heroine learns...well you know. LOL
[NEW] Under the Lights -- very cute start to a series featuring a heroine who is a teacher


Chewbacca/Ewoks
[TBR] Croc and the Fox --I've liked what I've read so far of this series. Very funny.
[NEW] Written in Red AWESOME series about shifters/humans

[TBR] Hard as You Can -- definitely has a good vs evil storyline; great series
[NEW] Cinder -- this is a YA/Sci-fi retelling of Cinderella, so definitely another good vs evil plot line. Great series.

[TBR] Daring Miss Danvers -- love that bodice ripper cover on this one
[NEW] Dangerous -- this was a great regency romance with a strong heroine, humor, mystery, and it was pretty spicy.

Hi AvidReader1987 - These are such wonderful suggestions that it's going to be hard to pick which one to start with. Luckily I have a long haul flight coming up in May so I'll have plenty of time to get one or two read. The picks are great. We will see how many I can get into. But I'm sure that most of the ones I won't been able to read in May will end up on my tbr shelf. :)

I was toying with the idea of reading The Darkest Hour for a while but the time was never right. Maybe it's now. The same with Hard as It Gets, I have heard so many good things about it. And I have skipped Blaze of Memory because I was more interested in the couples from the next books but promised myself to come back to this one one day. Maybe I should do it now, thanks for the push.

The ones I've been postponing since the beginning of time (Outlander is #1 of this postponing list LOL I Robot is probably #2, even though I love Asimov's writing).
