What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book) - Part 2
I'm reading Legend of the Condor Heroes: A Hero Bornby Jin Yong. It's a mega-bestselling classic in China. First English translation. It's certainly epic, except I have to skip some of the battle and kungfu scenes. Then again, I only got through War and Peace by skipping most of the war bits! Haha.
I am reading at the moment LADY ALMINA and the real DOWNTON ABBEY THE LOST LEGACY OF HIGHCLERE CASTLE by THE COUNTESS OF CARNARVON

Oh good, I have that sitting in my soon-to-be-read pile
Just started
I've heard it's quite funny with a corgi called Lord Waffles, and I LOVE romances that have both pets and humour in them, so this should tick all my romance boxes.
In two of my current reads To Be A Cat and The Temptation to Be Happy the protagonist muses on what an easy life a cat has, and how nice it would be to be a cat. Another of those eerie coincidences. (one actually finds out. )I was pleased to remember I need a Cat book for the A-Z challenge, so now I have one.
I got the Matt Haig book from the library in CD form and I'm listening in the car, thinking, I wonder how you spell that name (for the review). My flash of brilliance was to look up the book in Google books: if it has a preview, you can generally see enough pages to give the required information, and it even has a search function.
I'm just about to start Graceling by Kristin Cashore. It's gotten some good reviews so I'm really hoping it will be good (I've read a lot of disappointed/generic YA this year so far).
I have just started
Mallee Boys by Charlie Archbold - has been shortlisted for the Older Readers Book of the year by the 2018 Children's Book Council Awards and the author (an Aussie author) won the 2016 Adelaide Festival Unpublished Manuscript Award with this. It is her debut book.So far - considering not much is happening I am engrossed!

I'm back reading about my musketeer friends again with Twenty Years After by Alexandre Dumas. It's my third read and even better!I've also just started Black Sun Light My Way, which is the second in the Black Sun trilogy by Aussie author Jo Spurrier

Just read yesterday afternoon
by Sue McPherson was an interesting format as it was interviews between Sue and the teenage boys (i think it was real?) This is a YA book - and the voice of the boys was very realistic. Was a quick read

Funny you should say that - I may have bought a couple of packets on our way home today.
Purely for research purposes of course

Just started reading "Burke and Wills" by Peter Fitzsimons. I haven't read any of his books before now. His style is quite different to most historians.

I've just finished reading I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer] by Michelle McNamara and it was incredibly compelling. I'm glad her researcher and colleague finished the book after her passing, she had put so much effort into the research and writing. I highly recommend it, especially if you're a fan of true crime
Hi. I just borrowed Winter House by Hugh Mackay from the library. Has anyone read this and what did you think ?

Debbie are you sure on that title or author? I've just searched and nothing is coming up. Can you link it for us - click on "add book/author" and follow the prompts? Thanks :)

I’ve made a start on Real Tigers (Slough House #3) - it’s so easy to slip back into this world *puts feet up and nose into book*
Andrea wrote: "I’ve made a start on Real Tigers (Slough House #3) - it’s so easy to slip back into this world *puts feet up and nose into book*"My DH, who's not a reader much at all, is in the final pages of this. I managed to infect him with Slough House fever :)
