I'm only a couple chapters in, but so far the main characters from the previous books are present. I get a sense, and I'll know more once I've read a bit further, that the author is more comfortabke with this one - less forced.

This book made my Top 10 list for the year when I read it in 2014. Excellent!

I've been debating whether to continue with this series after A Root Awakening. It was ok but (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>

I'm reading Read and Buried and enjoying it. Unfortunately I've had to put it aside for some other books, but hope to finish it this weekend.
Now I'm onto
A Second Chance at Murder by Diana Orgain
I'm enjoying it more than the first book in the series.

Somehow when mention and historical mystery series that I enjoy, a clerk at the bookshop stuck this on my pile
The Christie Curse by Victoria Abbott. I hadn't had an opportunity to try it until now. Here's hoping one needn't have read or know a great deal about Agatha Christie or her stories.

I've read this series and love it. You don't need to know much about Christie's works. It's explained in the book. Happy reading!

I was afraid this book would let me down after all the great things I'd heard about it, but I loved it. If I remember correctly, somebody said another author was going to take over writing the series??

You might try requesting your library to get it, if you have access to one. Or Amazon. I know there are buy/sell/trade sites, but I've never used one.

No, not this one. Someone else finished another series she used to write under a different name.

I was a bit worried too. Was pleasantly surprised, and looking forward to reading the next one.

I've only read one book in this series, the 5th one, and I liked it, but haven't felt compelled to read any more. I also really like the Charmed Pie Shoppe books and this series seems okay. I had heard from others that the main character in this series was very unlikeable early on, so that's why I picked a later book to start with. Maybe that's what you're having a problem with? I also REALLY dislike her Book Retreat series. Got on my last nerve!

Next up: Shards of Murder, the second in the Webb's Glass Shop series. I liked the first one, so I hope this one is just as good.
