I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A cute, fun cozy mystery with recipes for making your own healthy pet treats. I think this will be even better once Kristan finally gets her organic pet treat shop up and running. There were no surprises with the murder aspect but the story is entertaining enough and fans of cozies will want to read this. Enjoyable and I plan on reading the next one.

I have always enjoyed my visits with Stan Conner's animal family and friends, this book did not disappoint. The books keep getting better. The engagement party for Patricia and Tony is in full swing when Stan's group arrive. Stan is startled to discover several of her co-workers present along with her x-boyfriend, Richard. Patricia is unhappy as Tony is not around. A murdered body is found in the master bathroom. An immediate clamp is out on the incident. Richard is arrested as the guilty party. ...more

This is how you write a cozy series. All aspiring cozy writers and some 'professionals' (I'm talking to you, Joanne Fluke) take note of a master and how it is done. You have to read this series in order because there are references to past situations that you don't want to miss. Each book has gotten better than the last and Ms. Mugavero really hits it out of the park with this one. She has created a town and characters that ring as authentic, people and places with lives that take a few steps fo ...more

Stan’s mother is engaged to Frog Ledge’s new mayor, and the pair are throwing a big engagement party. However, the groom to be isn’t there. Instead, Stan is running into several people she is less than happy to see again from her days in the corporate world, including her ex-boyfriend. The night gets worse when a body is found upstairs. The police quickly make an arrest, but something seems off. Are they trying to cover something up?

I finished Custom Baked Murder by Liz Mugavero, last night. This is a really great story and I loved the mystery. Not at all how I thought this would turn out and a mystery I believe you will all love. Two cats, 4 dogs, a great boyfriend, an overbearing and well meaning mother, unexpected house guests and a cast if characters to get to know and love this book has great charm. Another humdinger of a book by Liz Mugavero, Stan is now living with Jake (4 dogs and 2 cats), the plans for the new shop are going well (although as an investor Stan's mother seems to think that she should have input a LOT of input into the planning), oh and as it is the time for the official engagement party for Patricia and Tony Stan's sister and niece have turned up.  There are a lot of people at the party, some of them Stan is happy to see others not so much, ex co workers and her ex boyfri ...more

It was great to get back to the small town and even nicer that Stan's sister and niece show up and start repairing that relationship. Stan seems to have the perfect life with a great boyfriend, great pets, great friends and an expanding business but at her mother's engagement party and old co-worker is killed. Stan needs to get to the bottom of this to make sure her family is safe.

From the very beginning of the book, this fast-paced mystery is full of charming pets and an entertaining protagonist, Kristan “Stan” Connor. Stan is preparing to open her Pawsitively Organic Patisserie and Cafe in Frog Ledge, Connecticut and has three short months to put it together. She’s also struggling to juggle her overbearing mother, Patricia, (who is also one of her investors), along with her flaky, spoiled sister who decides to move herself and her six-year-old daughter in with Stan. I loved this book! It was a nice change to read about a family trying to learn how to get along. The mystery itself was really good, although I did figure it out pretty easily. Courtney and Kyle were absolutely hilarious. I was laughing during every scene they were in.

What a great cozy mystery this was. I started to read the book thinking I would read a few chapters and come back later to read more. To my surprise I really tried to put the book down but it was so good I had to keep reading. I loved the name of the town called Frog Ledge, Connecticut. What a cute little town it is with shops that are welcoming and people who are like family. Well maybe not everyone seemed like family but you will see who I'm talking about as you devour this incredible book.

I seem to be saying this frequently but it is true, Custom Baked Murder is my favorite book of the series. I loved that Stan has really settled in to the community and connected with her small town neighbors. Between that and her relationship with Jake, she is much more balanced and better able to handle the chaos that surrounds her. We also see changes,in her sister Caitlyn who seems to have calmed down dramatically. I find myself totally buying into the chaos and the calms; it works. I love wh ...more

This is the first book I've read in the Pawsitively Organic series, but it won't be the last - I'm definitely going to check out the previous ones. Stan lives with her boyfriend in a small town and is working on starting up an organic pet food/treat store. When a murder occurs at her mother's engagement party, Stan and her friends investigate. This has all of the good elements of a typical cozy - delicious sounding treats, a fun set of relatives and friends, and cute pets. But I enjoyed it more ...more

A fifth outing with Stan and her posse of dogs, cats, friends, and family, proves that too much togetherness can lead to craziness. With her mother's engagement party in shambles, and an unexpected visit from her sister, Stan's life is turned upside down. To top it all off there is the imminent opening of her shop with which she has to deal. Oh, yeah..the dead ex-coworker and arrested ex-boyfriend add an extra bit of cray-cray for Stan to cope with. Yet despite all of this this delightful series ...more

It is a delight to visit Frog Ledge in late summer with Nutty, Scruffy, their purrson Stan, and friends! Fifth in the Pawsitively Organic Mystery series, it is a not-to-be missed novel in the series!

Stan’s life overflows as she works new recipes, delivers to customers, and prepares to open her pet patisserie. Her boyfriend, Jake, owner of the local pub, moved in with her and they are gently feeling their way through the relationship change. His younger sister, Brenna, is one of Stan’s employees.

Stan is dedicated to getting her new business up and ready for the grand opening but she recognizes the need to make time for her personal life. I love a good mystery novel. This wasn't it.
With a long list of characters and pets to remember, along with nicknames for people, this book was very slow to start and weighed down from the beginning. The characters are wooden with little character development. The "cops are stupid and can't solve anything" attitude was disgusting to see. The main character "Stan" is trying to multitask to the point of being ineffective at everything.

The plot is filled with improbable scenarios, in an attempt t
