I think the German titles aren't available in English. Imagine all the titles we talk about that members in other countries can't easily get hold of - I know books can be really expensive in Australia.

That's a very difficult question! I think there a three types: 1. the english-styled books (copied the classic english cozy mysteries, some german Authors use english pen names to pretend they are english, like Rebecca Michele and Arthur Escroyne), the romance cozy mysteries (they are more light and easy read, like Gitta Edelmann and Marie Pellissier) and the (I think) real "german" cozys (they are a little bit cold and hard, I don't know how to describe, they have more profanities, a little bit more sex or violence, but a dry and black sense of humor). Cozy Mysteries are a very unknown subject in Germany and there are a few available. So most title this group mentioned are difficult and expensive to order.

I love this series!! I ended up buying all of them for my library and I just ordered her Scrapbooking Series and the Cackleberry Club series. Laura Childs is a good author. I love her characters.

Synesthesia?
That interests me. Christopher, do you have the name of the author handy? There are a few cozies with that title.

The author is Allyson K. Abbott.
Thanks Melodie, I'll be looking around for it.

I really liked that one, too. Have #2 coming up this weekend!

GREAT SERIES!!!
With so many people saying good things about the series I ordered it, but it appears out of print. Thankfully my favourite used book site had copies of each.

You are ahead of me on that, I need to buy the e-book version of it, but will likely wait until my Nook is back from repairland.

Haven't received the corrected shipping label yet, so I still have it in hand.

That book is in my tbr.

Thanks, I wondered if there was a slightly harder edge to them. I feel like a lot of the US ones have too much focus on fashions for me, and are getting too 'sweet'.

Try www.betterworldbooks.com used books, in great condition

Really loved her Seaside Knitters series but I've read them all. So far I'm enjoying it. Similar idea only quilters instead of knitters. However, she only wrote three of these.

I'd agree March was a great cozy month for you. It looks like the German titles are only available in German, so most of us couldn't read them anyway. How do they compare to the English ones? I like to think that different areas, especially countries, have a different flavor to them, even it's its minor.
