I'd agree March was a great cozy month for you. It looks like the German titles are only available in German, so most of us couldn't read them anyway. How do they compare to the English ones? I like to think that different areas, especially countries, have a different flavor to them, even it's its minor.

I think the German titles aren't available in English. Imagine all the titles we talk about that members in other countries can't easily get hold of - I know books can be really expensive in Australia.

I'm working my way through the Phryne Fisher series. They're so quick and easy to read.

That's a very difficult question! I think there a three types: 1. the english-styled books (copied the classic english cozy mysteries, some german Authors use english pen names to pretend they are english, like Rebecca Michele and Arthur Escroyne), the romance cozy mysteries (they are more light and easy read, like Gitta Edelmann and Marie Pellissier) and the (I think) real "german" cozys (they are a little bit cold and hard, I don't know how to describe, they have more profanities, a little bit more sex or violence, but a dry and black sense of humor). Cozy Mysteries are a very unknown subject in Germany and there are a few available. So most title this group mentioned are difficult and expensive to order.

I love this series!! I ended up buying all of them for my library and I just ordered her Scrapbooking Series and the Cackleberry Club series. Laura Childs is a good author. I love her characters.

Susan Webb I am reading Corpse in the crystal Ball by Kari Lee Townsend ( A Fortune Teller Mystery ) I read the first one and it was okay, kinda funny but didn't like how she was thrown in with the police chief. still, a good book. hope this one is just as entertaining.

Christopher Hunter (goodreadscomchrishunter) | 20 comments I am getting back into the swing of reading my cozies. One cozy I put down and will be reading is "Murder on the rocks." The main character has an interesting condition that I can't pronounce but it helps her perceive smells in waves of energy. Strange, huh? So far I love it. Also pick up a copy of "Engaged To be Murdered" when you can by yours truly.

Thanks, I wondered if there was a slightly harder edge to them. I feel like a lot of the US ones have too much focus on fashions for me, and are getting too 'sweet'.

Really loved her Seaside Knitters series but I've read them all. So far I'm enjoying it. Similar idea only quilters instead of knitters. However, she only wrote three of these.

Gary Sundell | 794 comments Because one can never read too many books at one time, I am reading Rosolio Red by Traci Andrighetti in addition to Marshmallow S'More Murder (Merry Wrath, #3) by Leslie Langtry . I am trying to get caught up on Traci Andrighetti's series before the next book comes out later this year.
