I think only 1 of your books will count for that detour Lauri. You can always use it for one of the spell-it-outs!

Just one book p/p for the detour if we want maximum points. You can read it just for a book to be read for the week though :)

--edit-- or as Cathy suggested, a spell-it-out!

Totally right! It's funny though how in the first book I liked Cassie more because she was just so funny to me, but I have to say I liked Ethan more in the 2nd one because of the whole role reversal (though you saw it in the 1st one as well). Ethan...imagine if he was like that from the beginning *sigh* But then there wouldn't have been much of a story!

Okey dokey. Just checking. I just finished The Aloha Quilt (Elm Creek Quilts, #16) by Jennifer Chiaverini
It doesn't count for this challenge, though. It was pretty sweet & the author did a good job with the Hawaiian Pidgin and the cultural stuff. Still working on Werewolf book #1....

I've been wanting to start that series I just haven't gotten around to it yet hoping to get to The Quilter's Apprentice (Elm Creek Quilts, #1) by Jennifer Chiaverini sometime soon.

message 307: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments This was my 1st one of the series. I liked it all right. I mainly picked it up because it was prominently displayed and I needed a book set in my home state for the Pop Sugar challenge ;)

A short trip for us now though - USA to Canada!

Accidentally Dead (Accidentals, #2) by Dakota Cassidy

Marty is a werewolf character.

Now I will attempt to add it to our spreadsheet.

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments And... no go! I'm so sorry for being backward! Could somebody please add it in for me?

So which letters are still needed for us to spell out Canada?

message 327: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I'm ready for Canada! I've never been there, but have gotten close a couple of times. I volunteer to read
The Dark and Hollow Places (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #3) by Carrie Ryan
The Dark and Hollow Places which should cover the D in Canada.

message 328: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments So what is everyone up to this fine weekend? It's cold & rainy here in Hawaii tonite (it's still Friday here) & I'm looking forward to sleeping in, reading in bed and making up a big vat of ham & bean soup! Lots of BOTM reading to catch up on.

message 329: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Hi Lauri! We had quite a cold and rainy day here, too, so I spent my morning in bed with what else, a book. ;) It was a busy week at work so unfortunately the afternoon was filled with cleaning all those things that must be done. But now that it's night again - bed! Books! Bwahaha. :)

message 330: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Karen, I just started Hounded! Page four and I'm already charmed. It's the perfect thing to read this weekend - thanks for the rec!

message 331: by Jess (new)

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments Send the rain my way, Lauri and Kazen!

Kazen, I'm reading Hounded too right now! Thanks to Karen for putting it on my radar :) I'm about 100 pages in.

I'm not doing anything this weekend but yesterday afternoon I went to the hairdressers to get my regrowth bleached, pink dye redone, and hair cut. Felt so luxurious getting the colour done there for once! But, too expensive, lol.

Drishti (drishti_ohri) | 1047 comments For most people, weekends are relaxing time and me, well.... it's the busiest time of the week for me! (Am I even normal?) I'm studying as usual. Exams start March 8! *groans*

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments I've got 5 days off including this weekend. All I've done so far is read and bake and read and bake. My perfect weekend =)

message 334: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments I finished This Shattered World (Starbound, #2) by Amie Kaufman which has a rebellion. Adding it to the spreadsheet

Oh I'm so glad you are both enjoying Hounded :)

So I made a very quick and dirty spell-it-out tracker on our spreadsheet. Once Lauri reads her D book we have all our letters done... Then we just need to all make sure we have read a book for the week to get maximum points. Laila Jane and Kazen have already got that, so now it is just Delitealex, Cathy M, Drishti, Jess and I who just need to read 'anything' for the time we are at this stop. :)

Weekends are busy busy for me too. I'll have more time to relax and read on Monday!

message 336: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I checked my ever-growing pile and have books for living in a castle, rebellion and an A book which should help out with the last one we're spelling (which I can't recall at the moment, but I know it has 3 As...)
Waaay too much fun here! And tomorrow is library day!!

Laila Jane, I forgot to ask you -- what did you bake? I was seriously considering baking, but my laziness kicked in & I just bought chocolate muffins from the store... I just did a navy bean soup with ham & bacon. Now I'm thinking of peanut butter cookies. Sigh*

On it! I'm in the middle of reading 4 different books right now so I'll add one when I'm done :) It's funny how before I could only read 1 at a time but after starting challenges and trying out audiobooks, I now "read" at least 2 at a time (1 book/1 audio). It's craziness.

I've been having horrible cravings for brownies, so I've been making chocolate brownies with a caramel swirl. I've made 2 separate batches this weekend alone. And I'm still having cravings!

message 344: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Oooh brownies sound so good!!!! I wish I could bake or cook but I'm really bad in the kitchen :( And it always takes me forever!

Finished Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1) by Wendy Higgins today. It also happened to have a MC named Anna (A) in case we need it. But where/how should it be added to the spreadsheet?

message 345: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I LOVE brownies! Well, actually chocolate in any form... Laila Jane, caramel swirl brownies sound divine! Now I'm thinking cream cheese, cherry or maybe double chocolate brownies. Yum!

Oh, and I went to the library again today. But, seriously, just yum.
AND Walking Dead Tonight!

I love my life!

We have the As for Canada covered, so I think just add it to the "tracking" sheet and we can use it for our next spell it out :)

mmmm brownies

We made tiramisu and a nectarine/apple crumble this weekend as we had visitors both nights. Still loads of leftovers :o

message 348: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments I've never tried nectarine/apple crumble. That sounds sooo good! Right now I'm eating sweet potato pie while I'm updating my challenges. I swear all I ever do when I'm not at work is eat and read =D

Cathy - I love to bake, but cooking was never my thing. I've made it my resolution this year though to finally learn to cook. I'm getting married this summer and I put all this cooking stuff on our wedding registry, so now I have to learn how to use it all to justify their need to my fiance.
