My favorite novel ever! I try to read it once every two years or so. And the movie is definitely a classic, but of course there are a few differences from the book.

This audiobook is amazing. Cissy Spacek is the narrator. It was on sale recently so I picked it up. Really glad I did. Probably a good thing I haven't seen the movie in over 20 years though, so I didn't get too hung up. However, I did still picture the actors when I listened lol

No way you could picture anyone other than Gregory Peck as Atticus:)

I read this years ago - either in high school or college. I don't remember which but I know I loved it. I also loved the movie which is rare for me. I usually think the books are better than the movies but the movie based on To Kill a Mockingbird is outstanding.

Thanks for telling me, Jonetta. This is the first and last book I'll be reading by her then. It drove me crazy! Between the wishy-washy characters who didn't really grow and the somewhat juvenile writing style - this was a painful read for me. I admit I wound up skimming the end because I couldn't stand it any longer.

I'm going to start Kiss Me (Fool's Gold, #17) by Susan Mallery . I love the Fool's Gold series. I want a book I'm practically guaranteed to love after the last one. :)

Understand completely. I just don't enjoy her style or story premises.

Britney | 380 comments Finished Ashes of Midnight by Lara Adrian, book 6 in the midnight breed series and I really enjoyed it! It was definitely an interesting story getting to know the real Andreas.

Started Sins of the Night (Dark-Hunter #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon by Sherriyln Kenyon, number 8 of the Dark Hunter series, and I'm learning so much about Ash that I didn't know before just in the first three chapters! Which makes me very happy lol. Then it got me wondering if every book gives a little bit more away of Ash so that by the time I get to his book will I already know most everything there is to know about him? Or will it only give away details in certain books? Dawn? Jonetta?

message 564: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 199 comments You will definitely NOT know everything about Ash by the time you get to his book. In fact you won't know everything there is to know about Ash when you finish his book. Damn complex man/God/whatever he really is lol. You are kicking butt on the series girl! It took me two years to get there.

I always like to read the book then watch the movie. Most of the time the books really are better than the movie. But I can see from all the comments, the movie is a classic.

I can't read the book if I watch the movie first. This story is one of the rare examples where the movie might just be better than the book. At a minimum, it's just as good.

Thank you lol, I'm enjoying them a lot! Tortured hero, alpha male, love, action and suspense, mystery pretty much right where I want to be book wise :)).

Should of known about Ash, that is completely frustrating, lol but so smart of the Author. I think that every time I finish a book, she's very smart the way she makes everyone want to know more about him, and then giving away just enough to keep you satisfied at the time but still craving more!

Nevermind , I saw that your up to date on those. My review of Ashes of Midnight differed from yours about the ending and the over the top lol, it just goes to show everyone feels differently about certain books. Sometimes I rely a lot on reviews and I just never really know if I will end up on the good or the bad side :)

Britney | 380 comments Currently reading Born in Ice, book two of born in series. Couldn't wait. I'll read it again next month.

Started In Flight (Up in the Air, #1) by R.K. Lilley by RK Lilley, recommended by a goodreads friend that says it's her favorite series ever. I'm very interested so far.

And started A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter by Elizabeth Hunter. It's free on Amazon and sounded good so I'm going to see which one takes hold between this and In Flight.
