Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 36 comments I'm in the midst of an EPIC NORA ROBERTS TRILOGY AUDIOBOOK MARATHON!!!

Let's see..... I reread the Bride Quartet at the beginning of May (in about a week), then started on May 30th.... and since then I've read the following trilogies:
*Inn BoonsBoro
*Three Sisters Island (reread)
*Sign of Seven (reread)
*In the Garden
*Cousins O'Dwyer
*Gallaghers of Ardmore
*Born In (reread)
*Key (reread)
*Dream

I finished Finding the Dream two days ago. So that's 27 Nora Roberts audiobooks in 55 days. I have the Chesapeake Bay series ready to go.... but I think I'm a little burned out. Understandable? But then, I'm not REALLY, I just can't get over Dark Witch. I just want to listen to it on repeat forever. Katherine Kellgren is the BEST and I'm totally in love with Boyle. *sigh*

I should probably reread the Circle Trilogy, too. It's fantastic. I'm going to wait for the last Guardians book to come out before I read it. I have the Stars of Mithra series....... Nora has SO MANY BOOKS!!!!!

Boyle is one of my main book boyfriends I think! I LOVE him ! But I don't mind sharing haha ;)
I seriously love that book in particular but the whole trilogy so much! Book one especially :) I have already read it 5 times and counting, I'm glad to know someone else loves it like I do!

Seriously!!!! It's so funny, because he's one of Nora's gruffest heroes.... *tries to think of another that's on the same level* Ryder Montgomery from The Perfect Hope.... anyway, but because Boyle's that way, any tiny sweet thing he says is just SOOOOO romantic! It made me think about what I consider romance.... then I thought about what other people might consider romance... which made me think of Harper Ashby from Red Lily who was just SOOOO SMOOTH OPERATOR... I remember wincing and shaking my head during the hotel scene in that book.... TOO SLICK. If I were the heroine, I'd be too busy wondering how many THOUSANDS of women he had to have seduced before me to have it down to such a science..... And goodness knows THAT'S super-romantic... NOT!

So yeah, I love Boyle too. He's my kind of romantic!

message 656: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments Exactly yes to all that lol! The smallest things with Boyle are so sweet because of how he is, and I loved him getting all flustered over her. Come to think of it Logan in Blue Dalhia is a little like Boyle, and Cian in The Valley of silence is comparable maybe, though he's a lot more talkative than Boyle. Boyle is sort of just one of a kind really, he sticks with you long after you've read the book. And each time it's like falling in love with him all over again. :)

I agree with you about Harper lol. I wasn't impressed with his attempts as much though , I preferred how Mitch was or Logan, probably because Harper's was young and new, so you can still be impressed with a hotel room and wine lol.

Britney | 380 comments I finished Dragon Knight's Axe (Order of the Dragon Knights, #3) by Mary Morgan , the 3rd in the Order of the Dragon Knights series. I loved it, but I loved it least of the 3 so far. Still looking forward to reading the 4th and final brother and excited yet nervous about the new release coming on the 12th. Tying into the Dragon Knights with their sisters story.

I'm taking a break from that one and I am now reading Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1) by Maya Banks by Maya Banks, which several of my goodreads friends have read and given great reviews. I was hooked right from the start.

Only downside of the Banks series is that's she's delayed release of the third book several times. Take your time getting to the second book until the third is out.

I like them better than the Armstrong/Montgomery books. In order, In bed with a Highlander, Seduction if a Highland Lass, and Never Love a Highlander.

Picture Perfect by Fern Michaels Picture Perfect by Fern Michaels. Started in paperback
Just finished:
Picture Perfect Picture Perfect by Fern Michaels in paper back.
WOW!! What an exciting book!! Story of a courageous seven year old boy who's parents are more into themselves than they are him. Davey is a hemophiliac and has been guarded his whole life and treated so strictly by his narcissistic mother. Dr. Lorie Ryan is looking forward to taking her nephew Davey on a camping trip. Lorie loves Davey and is the only one who gives him the freedom to be himself and gives him the love he deserves and aches for. Davey's parents have to go to Florida to testify in a syndicate drug ring. While camping, Davey disappears. The cat and mouse game is so exciting and suspenseful. Throw in a little romance and its the perfect book. the characters are so very strong and well defined. It was a very fast read for me. I just couldn't put it down. Wonderful book!! 5 stars

I think so. She is an excellent story teller and writes extremely well. It's not my usual romantic suspense, but I definitely enjoy her books. I just completed Harbinger and really liked it. It is a series that although the books can stand alone, you are much more vested in the characters if you read the books in order.

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) I had read Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer in early June but just now got to finishing the Lunar Chronicles. Couldn't put it down once I started the series again!

SO GOOD.

I've declared it my new favorite series and I want to read it again now but I'm going to hold off until January and break in the new year with it.

So good.

Did anyone else who has read the series imagine them older? I kept picturing them more early to mid 20s. I'd forget they were teens until it was randomly mentioned again. (Not that it took away from the series or anything like that)

Drawing Close The Fourth Novel in the Rosemont Series by Barbara Hinske Drawing Close: The Fourth Novel in the Rosemont Series Read as a pre-read for review on Kindle.
I was asked to read this as a pre-review. The fourth book in the Rosemont series. It's full of romance, twists and turn, mystery and excitement. Maggie and John return home from their honeymoon to find the pension fund is still missing that her late husband was involved in, Frank Haynes is finding a way to get Rosemont back to him. Her late husband Paul had a child with his mistress and now the child is terribly ill and needs a kidney transplant. Maggie now has to tell her children exactly what kind of man their father was. You have a thug, Delgado, involved with Frank. It is a very deep, involved book with intrigue, mystery and surprises. It was a fast read as I couldn't put it down. The only thing I would say is, read the series in its sequence. I feel it would have made me understand the story line and characters better. Excellent book though! 5 stars

My daughter is the administrator for the English as a Second Language (ESL) program a our local high school. She is always on the look out for books that would appeal to emerging English learners. Would this series fit? YA is not a genre I read and she doesn't have much time between her job, husband and two active children

I'm biased but I say yes. And there isn't "sex" scenes or such that, but not sure how the school will feel about some of the violence in there. (Some schools are a lenient while some are pretty...stiff. That's the nicest word I can come up with right now :D)

It says YA (which was why I took a long time to even read the first book), but once I got started, it hasn't once crossed my mind. In fact, until you mentioned it, I had forgotten this book is tagged as such.

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) Currently reading the Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc series and just started the Mercy Thompson series last night.

Both are intriguing, well done, and highly recommended. Just got the Mercy Thompson volume 1-5 set for Kindle and talk about dangerous. It's hard enough stopping after one book but I had to fight the urge to stay up all night to keep on after I finished the first. Haha.

I've had the first book for the series - Graveyard Shift - sitting in my queue for a long time and was happily surprised at how well done the creation of the reapers' world was.

(Got it free off of Amazon. Just double checked, and it is still for free (at least for the US Amazon) if anyone wants to check it out.)

Here's the link for it: https://www.amazon.com/Graveyard-Shif...
