Britney | 380 comments I started Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost a couple days ago, and I have been so hooked! I am about halfway through and I hope it continues to be this way. Where have these books been all my life? Oh, that's right, I was wrapped up in my Nora cocoon for years to afraid to venture out. ;)

Jonetta- I went back and looked because I thought it sounded familiar, this is one of the first couple series you recommended to me back in March when I didn't know what to read lol. It was this or start the midnight breed series, which I love thanks to you. Then I went with dark Hunter series recommended by dawn and I equally love those , this one got lost in the mix somewhere but you ladies are giving me some amazing stories to read and I can't thank you enough!

Dawn | 199 comments I took advantage of a weird Audible sale and picked up a few classics. I am now listening to A Diary of a Young Girl, The Definitive Edition, by Anne Frank. If you have read the book as an assignment for some stupid class and forgot it...please think about listening to this version. The narrator kicks butt and really makes you see this girl as a pubescent child trying to navigate life and the insanity of early WWII. Narrator is Selma Blair. It has been decades since I read this book (oh and I probably read the edited version) and I am enjoying this young girls wit more than I remember.

I read this on my own when I was very young, maybe about ten (I always read above my maturity level) and loved it then. The story has haunted me for life.

Britney | 380 comments Finished Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and I loved it. Would of preferred not to have my heart torn out at the end but I'm letting it slide in hopes that it makes book two that much better.

can someone let me know if it takes a long time for bones to find cat? Because if it takes more than half the next book I'm seriously considering backing out . My emotions can't handle these things lol.

started reading Stars of Fortune (The Guardians Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts finally. I am halfway through and been hooked since the first page of this one. definately reminding me of the circle trilogy, which I loved, but does that continue or split off into more of its own? Is the discussion for this one still going on?

Oh! And make certain you're following the Night Huntress Universe Series listing for the proper reading order. You don't necessarily have to read the novellas (I didn't) but you need to read the full length books from the spinoff series in the proper order or you will encounter spoilers.

Blood Magick (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts Blood Magickin paper back by Nora Roberts.
The final in the Cousins O'Dwyer series. Branna O'Dwyer and Finbar Burke dreamed of a life together years ago, until Sorcha, the dark witch, cursed him with the mark that signifies that Fin is a descendant from Cabhan. Branna knew they could not be together when the evil that is Cabhan continues to stalk her family. They have had to work together to destroy Cabhan even with the forbidding love they have for each other. Fin is not evil and wants nothing more than to destroy him and find a way to break the curse. Cabhan is getting more daring and bold and the three of the three know the time is near for the battle of all battles.
I was very disappointed in this last book. I got so absorbed in this series and the characters and was so worked up to the finale'. It was so drawn out with Branna and Fin's saga and the ending was nothing like I had expected or hoped for. I felt very let down at the end. It was like the author just wanted to get the series done and over with. It's really a shame, as it was such a strong and powerful story. I love Nora Roberts, and this will in no way change my thinking of reading her books. 2 stars

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) Recently finished Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer and plan to continue on with the series. It's sci-fi and an adaptation of fairy tells, which usually isn't my thing but this turned out so good. LOVE this book and heroine.

Also reading the Grayslake series ( No Ifs, Ands, or Bears About It (Grayslake, #1) by Celia Kyle )
It's not "great" and the erotic scenes can be awkward at times or a little repetitive in the series but if you're looking for an easy read or looking for a new shifter's paranormal romance type book...I'd recommend.

It does have just a little lol. Dragon knights who are brothers and each have a special ability. And the heroine time traveled 800 years back in time. But I am proud of myself for even continuing. A friend of mine tricked me into reading this by not telling me it was historical because she loved the series so much.

So I guess it worked lol, I'm branching out. I couldn't get through Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon when I tried to read it once, but maybe I can give it a try in the future with some success.

Dawn | 199 comments Britney, Outlander (and all 8 subsequent epic novels) are kind of hard to get through reading. It is like Gone with the Wind...EPIC...and they just keep getting longer. If you are into audiobooks AT ALL listen to the book. Davina Porter kicks butt on this series and really makes you feel the characters. I think I can loan you mine, but have to figure that whole thing out. Let me know if you think you want to try it

COMPLETELY agree with Dawn. I switched to audio after the second book and will never go back.

message 500: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments It was the historical part of it the made me not want to keep going. I was pretty far into the book when I stopped, but I have a hard time reading about the barbaric ways of the past, is all I can think of as to why I couldn't keep going. I want to try a book on audio at least once to see if I like it. If you figure it out and have the time down the road I will give it a try :) thanks!
