Wow. You guys are awesome. I don't think I will make this challenge. Just couldn't make myself choose books according to the first letter of the title or author.

message 218: by Anetq (last edited Nov 20, 2016 06:22AM) (new)

Anetq | 354 comments Finished the Title Challenge: Did A- Å (so 29 this year) and finished off with national songs for the letter Å, the last letter of the danish alphabet - which I wouldn't have read, if not for this challenge, but they were great - so even though this might be just fun and games, it does make me read great stuff I wouldn't otherwise have.

Some of the best reads have been the nobel winners, and other ladies from the "Century of Women" Challenge:
Karin Michaëlis, Irène Némirovsky, Tove Ditlevsen, Selma Lagerlöf, Jeanette Winterson, Pearl S. Buck, Nella Larsen, Sofi Oksanen, Svetlana Alexievich, Grazia Deledda.

Full list:
A Antwerp Roberto Bolaño
B Bill Bryson's African Diary Bill Bryson
C Cold Granite Stuart MacBride
D The Dangerous Age Karin Michaëlis
E Even Dogs in the Wild Ian Rankin
F Fire in the Blood (aka Feber i Blodet) Irène Némirovsky
G Gift Tove Ditlevsen
H Hr. Arnes penge Selma Lagerlöf (aka The Treasure)
I In Her Absence Antonio Muñoz Molina
J The Jump Doug Johnstone
K Kometen kommer Tove Jansson
L Levende begravet (aka. Buried Alive) Sadeq Hedayat
M Macbeth William Shakespeare
N Not Dead Enough Peter James
O Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit Jeanette Winterson
P Pavilion of Women: A Novel of Life in the Women's Quarters Pearl S. Buck
Q Quicksand Nella Larsen
R Renselse (aka. Purge) Sofi Oksanen
S Spejl, skulder, blink (Mirror, Shoulder, Signal) Dorthe Nors

Pink | 5491 comments Well done to everyone who completed this challenge in 2016! I was 3 books short, so I'll be hoping to improve on this for 2017!

I'll leave this thread here for a few days, to give everyone a chance to update, then I'll move it to the archives folder (where it will still be open for comments)
