Roll 16: "6"Space: 74 Alternate choice: Author's initials "W"
Book:Red Dirt Heart, N.R. Walker 162 pgs per GR
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review: Charlie has inherited his father's Outback station at a young age, so he's 23 and isolated. Travis is the agronomy exchange student from the US who enters Charlie's life and firmly plants himself. The writing is smooth as always with NR Walker and I enjoyed the story. There wasn't much unexpected and it felt a bit unreal (Travis is just a bit too good to be true and a little too understanding of his feelings for a 21 year old.) But learning a little about the Outback kept me intrigued.
Two teams are currently at spot 74 (teams 2 & 4) if either or both roll a 2 or higher tomorrow could very well be the last roll. If both teams roll a 1 and or if they don't finish before the next roll then the game will go another roll. Here's the winning alternates all of these are under a spoiler tag in post 4.76. purchased
77. Color: Yellow
78. Location: Kansas
79. Location: France
80. May-Read
81. Color: Gray/Silver
Again to win you must roll past 75 and you can read either the number you'd be on or the given alternate. In the event multiple teams roll past 75 then it comes down to who finishes first.

Read: Summer at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs
Date: 6/11/2014
Rating: ******
Review: I decided to save my #7 Jim Butcher book for tomorrow. Olivia Bellamy has moved for the summer to renovate her family's holiday resort to get over her ex-fiance. What looks like a temporary escape, may end up being her calling and a new beginning while she delves into her families secrets. Nice summer beach read!
Final Week: Roll 16: Space 74

Book choice: Allegiance by Sussanah Sandlin (Pentonvillle Legacy, Book 4)
Read: June 11
Rating & Reviewed: ★★★★.
I like this one. While it was Cage Reynolds book, this was really a transition book. The author introduced new supernatural creatures and abilities as well as crossed over with her Omega Forces series, see Storm Force.
In the prior books, Matthias Ludlum (Will's evil father) was the enemy, and in the last book he was captured by the Penton Vamps. Aidan was offered a seat of the Vampire ruling council and Pentonville was considered an allie area.
In this book, someone rescues Matthias before his execution. the same person began sending flyers, troublemakers to disrupt the Pentonville's utopia.
Human residents of Pentonville was promised a peaceful town where they can exist along with vampires as a family. The humans had to be unvaccinated and would feed the vampires, in exchange, they were given jobs, protection and family.
Well the new enemy made it clear that there would be no peaceful existance and human feeders began leaving Pentonville.
Now the pentonville vamps were down to 1 human per 4-5 vampires, and the ratio could get worse if more people kept leaving.
The General in Storm Force sent a couple of Omega Force agents to help 1)find Matthias 2) find the source of the sabotage.
The agents had special abilities. for instance, Nick could read someone's past by touching an item they touched. Robin, was a bird shifter.
So with this new elite counter-terrorism team, the author introduced Shifters to this series.
Anyway, Robin takes an immediate liking to Cage Reynolds. Cage was still trying to resolve issues with Melissa from the last book, but this bold shifter had him intrigued. And at first it seemed like Melissa and Robin might arm-wrestle for the rights to be Cage's bedmate...but the author kept the focus on the sneak attacks on Pentonville by the unknown enemy.
But who was targeting the peaceful Penton residents and why? Also, what's the deal with the new shifters popping up in Pentonville? Herr Frank Geyser, a member of the Vampire council and a known opponent of Aiden, has some new plans in motion that will change the balance of power between humans and supernatural creatures. Matthias Ludlum was just a pawn, and Pentonville is just a small town he plans on crushing as he continues to his ultimate goal.
as you can see, i really liked this one. the author upped the ante by adding shifters, bird, cat and canine. We have a psychic who can read the past coupled with Hannah who can read the future. There is about to be an all out brawl in Alabama. I am excited for the future of this series.

by Kristen CallihanRating: 4 Stars
Finished: 6/11/14
There are a lot of secrets in this series and in this book in particular. Even though we’ve seen Jack Talent and Mary Chase in previous books, we never really learned much about them. For pages and pages, Kristen Callihan keeps us guessing about each of their secrets. Even with those mysteries hanging between them, the chemistry is palpable; the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. They hate each other, they tolerate each other, yet they are definitely more than hot for each other.
I really love this series. There are so many crazy ups and downs in every book. Twists and turns that I don’t see coming. And then the couples…the romance, the sexual tension, it’s all so unbelievably captivating. From beginning to end, I never want to put the books down and I’m always looking to see when the next one comes out.
~hovering...Ezi you will be happy to know I read my 2 and 3 parts so if we get France I can read #4 of Dangerous Ground and not have to read a series out of order!
So the final roll is a 6 ladies!! We are on space 80. Read book 8 in a series, read a stand alone book or read a book off of the May-Read Shelf

by Emily SnowRating: 5 stars
Finished: 6/12/14
I've had Tidal on my Kindle for a year and a half, always meaning to read it and always putting it off for something else. Finally I got the chance to read it and of course I'm pissed that I put it off for so long. It was a really great story. I loved Willow and Cooper...especially Cooper.
There were so many layers to this story and so many things that brought tears to my eyes both happy and sad. I kind of wish it had been longer only because I didn't want to say goodbye to Willow, Cooper, Eric, Paige and Miller. I felt like I was a part of their family. I would love to get a peek at what they're all up to now. While ridiculous sweet, the epilogue only made me want even more.
Totally recommend this to anyone and everyone. I am a fan of Emily Snow's work for sure and I look forward to getting to meet her this Saturday.
Paris,
Gratitude for service given in these weeks as we laid SSS Bartiatus Ludus to ruin. You honor me as you lead us in this final conflict. This one is for Spartacus, Mira, Varro, Agron & Nasir, Gannicus, Naevia & Crixus.
Ezi will read The Darkest Surrender (Lords of the Underworld, Book 8)

Book:The Distance Between Us from Page 10 of May-Read List
Rating: 3 stars
Review: Rhett and Ethan are a couple of ten years who are broken up but still live together. They take a roommate, Kieran, to help defray costs until they can sell their house and move on. They are both attracted to Kieran and he gets it on with each of them, making the other jealous. Eventually they all 3 go at it and through this Rhett and Ethan rediscover their attraction to each other. It is sort of a weird setup because most ménage books I have read are about the three, not leaving one behind. It is mostly sex, not much actually happens. I have had this book on my TBR for awhile because I wanted to save it, thinking it would be a "favorite", but frankly I thought it was a bit of a letdown. There is a sequel about Kieran but I don't know if I will bother.

Book choice: The Darkest Surrender by Gena Showalter (LotU, Book 8)
Read: June 12
Rating & Reviewed: ★★★★.
I'm not sure why I've been forcing myself to continue this series when I clearly stopped enjoying it a while ago. I'm a little hopeful again since this book was better. It wasn't quite a 4-star but I rounded up.
This is Stryker and Kaia's book. If you remember at the end of the last book, Kaia told Stryker that she was his consort but he rejected her. See, Stryker's demon is defeat, so he has to win at all things. First, Stryker had a crush on Haidee and Kaia had slept Paris--whose demon is promiscuity. Who wants to follow an act Paris when it comes to sex? Not Mr. I-MUST-WIN, so Stryker was not trying to hear it, but Kaia pulls out the stops to get her man. She begins by calling in her marker for his assistance in The Harpy Games.
The Harpy Games is a win-win because Kaia can demonstrate how great she was (this gal has got a big ego) and Stryker can look for one of the relics the Lords are looking in their quest to get those artifacts.
This was was entertaining because Stryker obviously wants her but he is fighting it. Their banter is entertaining as they are both wise guys. I chuckled a bit and I admit I savored the inner dialogue Stryker was having with himself. I do like them together. They were good together.
Part of me thinks I liked this book because it was similar to IAD which I have been back reading because the Harpies were like the Valkyries, the Valkyries also also have a tournament, and the sarcasm reminded me of the demon Hs like Cadeon. I still prefer IAD. I now see that I enjoy this series better when I read it whereas I love IAD via audio. I will read Paris book maybe next month because we got snippets in this book, but as an ebook.

Review: Wow, first off I was an idiot to listen to this book at work. I had to go take a break in the bathroom for awhile to get myself back under control. It was so good I should've read this a long time ago but in the privacy of my own home so I could cry when I wanted to. This book was probably the best book I've read in a long time, definitely this year.
I've posted our reviews.
It was an honor Jamie, Paris and Suzanne!
Suzanne... We need to see that movie. I loved Gus
