Sorry off line for so much this week, busy and lots of overtime/work
Dear Sean:
Hello. We wanted to share how much we enjoy following the threads/posts/comments on A Good Thriller. We've said before but will again: What a Great Group! So dedicated.
Since we last spoke and emailed, we are in the midst of data collection and in the beginning stages of data analysis. After interviewing a number of online book club members who participate in the Mystery/Thriller genre, we created questions targeted at Mystery/Thriller readers. Sean, we would love your input. The questions are below listed.
Of course, to support you and A Good Thriller, we want to post more questions. It's hard coming up with new thread questions. Our hats off to you. We may post the Question #3 to see what the other members think.
Thanks again Sean for being such a great support to our research! A Good Thriller has such a devoted and loyal membership. Amazing job at creating and maintaining this type of environment. We've studied a great many clubs. A Good Thriller stands out. Please feel free to quote us!
Best regards,
Grace & Amanda

What are the biggest misconceptions about mystery/thriller readers?
What is being discussed and shared in your online mystery/thriller book club that contributes to the sense of community?
Several interviewees have described their participation in an online mystery and thriller book club as a bar/pub hangout with your friends. Do you agree with this? And, if so please describe your mental image of your online mystery/thriller book club’s hangout in terms of location, party decorations, food, drink, etc. (Feel free to have fun with this one.)

You should feel that compliment everyday, Sean! It's in the top three groups on GR. #1 for most members! ;) Great feedback from people who study them specifically.
What are the biggest misconceptions of thrillers readers ? Well , I for one do not like gratuitous violence at all but love a good thriller/ mystery........ Is it impossible to write one without ?

Happy Halloween (almost)! I just noticed that one of the scariest books I've ever read is on sale at the Kindle store for $2.99
Ghost Storyhttp://amzn.to/2eoOsm3
Stuart Neville's Belfast series books 1 thru 4 are part of a amazon.com gold box deal here in the States, they are $2.99 & $1.99. Not bad, when you consider the 5th books $14.99.
Hey Thriller Fans, today is the last day to sign up for BookPals if you are interested. Please sign up using this thread https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... and I will post Pals at the end of the day today(for me that will be about 11PM Eastern US Time)HAPPY READING!!!
OH NO!!! I have a reading injury. I thought I just had a little crick in my neck, but it didn't get better after a couple of days. So, today I went to the doctor and while I was waiting I was reading my Kindle and she said, that is probably how you got your injury. I can barely lift my arm to put my shirt on, I'm in so much pain. The doc gave me some muscle relaxers and an anti-inflammatory Hopefully, I'll be better, but not giving up the reading.
I disagree, Amber. Whether it's my tablet or a book on my lap, my neck is in the same position. I'm looking down. That is, unless I'm laying on the couch to read. :-)
A REAL book forces you to move around once in a while to exercise your arm and neck, thereby keeping it from freezing in place. When it freezes in place, that's what causes the pain Lorrea described.

Amber wrote: "A REAL book forces you to move around once in a while to exercise your arm and neck, thereby keeping it from freezing in place. When it freezes in place, that's what causes the pain Lorrea described."You can get the same exercise while reading a traditional book or from a tablet/kindle e-reader. I even find it easier to read while I'm cooking, hands free verse having to hold a book to turn pages.
It's all in the way e person reads. Doesn't matter what they are reading. Book, Kindle, Newspaper. Need proper reading posture. She be able to fit your first or an apple between your chin and chest. Staying in any one position for to long will eventually have negative effects Change things up some how.
I concede a point to Horn about how useful an e reader's hands free possibilities might be as an advantage when cooking. And I agree that it should be easier to clean if there are any splatters, especially if you're making a sauce... .Diane: That's good advice.
Thanks for the advice everyone. Right now the only place I have to read is my bed. It will be another few months before that changes. Hopefully I can find a better position.
I recently won these two books from St. Martin's Press and got them in the mail this past week So Excited, but just makes my reading list so much longer.
Which is on sale today on Amazon for $2.99 for the Kindle version or you can get the first 5 chapters for free.
Lorrea, I'm so sorry. Hope you heal soon!I've had a knitting injury before. It's probably similar to a knitting injury.
Watching the Chicago Cubs World Series victory parade on TV. Holy cow! I wonder how many million people are in thos crowd! Watched most of all 7 games. Game 7 was intense! Cleveland - what a tough team! So much heart! But there was no way I couldn't root for the Cubs. 108 years since they won a championship. History! It's such a fun diversion from politics and all the troubling news in the world.
You can bet that Jim Butcher's probably gonna include reference to this year's World Series in his next Dresden Files novel, tentatively titled Peace Talks, especially given that his wizard PI/Winter Knight/Warden of Demonreach Island, Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden and Harry's older brother, Thomas Raith, are based in Chicago,
You might start feeling better with a distraction, Janet. I offer a little over a half hour of Disney princesses in their native languages: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADj7x...
