Unless you live off of the grid, like a few of the guys on Live Free or Die show and then 100% produce everything you use by yourself.

Then anything we do in life we are supporting human rights violations and even you using the library computers, your supporting it.

Touche.

I only post this link when someone scores a point on me: Rhapsody of Fire: Dargor, shadowlord of the black mountain lyrics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGCGG... I can't remember if this is one of the ones that features the late great Sir Christopher Lee as either narrator or guest vocalist.

I agree, but that is my problem with my fellow Americans. They will allow a fascist to take over this country, because they feel their vote doesn't matter. Or because they don't trust Hillary.

They don't like Trump and don't trust Hillary. Yet, they will let Trump win. Disgusting. I hold by my decision to want to live on a deserted island. (Preferably with the entire Penguin Classics library and a dog.)

message 8555: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 1191 comments Trump is hardly a fascist. A capitalist yes, however fascists who love centralized government are more clearly in line with Obama and his ruling by executive order a policy Hillary has already said she would follow especially in the area of gun control. I will now retire my degree in political science and someone can explain to me how influence peddling as Secretary of State qualifies Hillary for anything other than a federal prison cell.

But I would still stand a better chance of fighting for survival while I'm there than being able to engineer some super raft to take on the ocean.

Amber Martingale Horn, if you like symphonic power metal, which is the genre Rhapsody of Fire is, you might also like Nightwish which is the same genre though they are more traditional for that genre. In symphonic power metal, it's more traditional to have a female lead vocalist than a male. Two songs I recommend for Rhapsody of Fire are Unholy War Cry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSlOo... and Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness which sports a Flamenco-style intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ALY_... For Nightwish, I recommend their collaboration with John Two Hawks, Creek Mary's Blood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odZN1...

I have a lot of this genre in my three main YouTube playlists.

Oh..yeah...the late great Sir Christopher Lee had a couple symphonic power metal albums with a band of his own. They were about Charlemagne. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvKRb... is from one of them. He's playing Charlemagne. The song is called The Bloody Verdict of Verden which is an archaic form of the name Verdun...which was also one of the bloodiest damned World War I battles.

Amber Martingale Interesting, because the few seconds I heard of the EPICA song you linked reminded me more of Creek Mary's Blood by Nightwish and John Two Hawks than Rhapsody of Fire's Unholy War Cry, Aymen.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) I hope all of you will take a look at my blog today or tomorrow. I am participating in a blog tour for Bethany Chase's new book Results May Vary by Bethany Chase . I know some of you have read it and on the blog there are a couple more things from the author that are not included on my Goodreads review.

Went to work today, then went to see doctors signed off for a week. Have struggled last week on Thursday and Friday.

Muscle tears, in groin, thigh muscles in severe cramps and spasms.

Sitting down, I am fine, moving not so good.

Shame family over staying with us, they will be out most days, then in afternoon enjoying the sun, as beautiful day today, warmer tomorrow.

Do not want to read too much outside, as will go back healthier looking with the sun!

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Rest and heal Sean!!!

No, no more weights enough walking 14-16 miles every day at work, pulling full size shredding bins.

Then tennis 3-4 times a week, and pedal tennis each weekend, and of course gardening.

My muscles are overworked for my age, and do not do enough stretching and warming up.

So now and then they just seize up on my and it's like cramp down both legs, groin and stomach, hardly able to walk straight.

At work they said I was walking like Walter Brennan in Rio Bravo !

Physcio this afternoon, and massage after should help, and rest.

Thanks, rest is hard.

Heather Burnside (goodreadscomheather_burnside) | 385 comments Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around much lately but there has been an awful lot going on in my life, some of it bad, but some of it good too. So, here's the good news:
I've just signed a three book deal with a publisher. I'm thrilled that they've taken me on as they have very good credentials. You can find out more on my blog at: http://goo.gl/9PX5Wl.
I'm looking forward to this exciting venture and would like to thank the group for all your support with hosting me on one of your author threads and reviewing my books.
Have a lovely weekend all.

Thanks Lorrea. It's difficult to say - I've recently come to the end of a 23 year marriage. It's been a very heart-wrenching decision but it was the right one. I'm trying to stay positive and focused now as I enter this new and exciting phase of my life.

Have added another poll on our home page, although it is on the second page.

Your favourite action anti-hero.

Janet do not know how to move to home page or top of the list of polls.

Plus wanted to add a few more names/authors?

Heather, that is difficult to deal with. My husband and I have been together for 10 years, married only for 3 and we are going through some things as well. It's hard when you've been with one person for so long. Sending happy thoughts your way!!

message 8600: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 2434 comments I've been a bit MIA for the last couple of weeks. Our son lost his job a few months ago and we've been supporting him as best we can. A week with all my brothers and their families visiting cut reading and online time severely. Then a continuing medical problem meant more tests, a future MRI and physical therapy. And finally an attempt to rescue a stray cat resulted in a severe bite, ER, tetanus shot, antibiotics, and worry about rabies exposure until 9/11. I want my quiet life back.
