I think I had so many new to me authors because of NetGalley reads. I know I had a few debut authors, four excellent ones that I can think of off the top of my head, but there were probably more.

Wow, Lisa! 126! But is that the number of books or the number of authors? If I read 3 books by a new-to-me author, I only counted that as one author.

message 7553: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 2434 comments I just looked at my 2014 reads. I had 17 new-to-me authors, 2 of whom had debut books. What I did differently in 2014 was to stick with an author, reading most if not all their books in order. 67 of the 103 books I read were by these 17 new authors.

That is the number of authors. I did find some good new authors and yes I did end up reading more of their books:) but I didn't count those.

Did you go into each book to find out of it was a debut for the author?

BTW, I am starting our book today:) I need a break from "real" life horrors in my reading.

Sean, I went looking to see how long I've been a member of A Good Thriller. I thought Goodreads must have this noted somewhere. Sure enough, I found it. I joined on March 28, 2014. Thank you to you, Janet, and Autumn for this awesome experience!

Kirsten (kmcripn) Good morning, Thriller-ites!

Congratulations, Brenda. I'm new to these groups things. I originally used goodreads to keep track of what books I've read and what the next book in a series was.

So glad I took a chance on these groups. Some great people out there!

Nearly 50 members joined this year !

Pleased to say after my health problem in September and getting over bronchitis and pneumonia, today I played my first singles, in 5 months.

Have been playing doubles and mixed, but first singles.

Also played the number one lady in Jersey, and 22 years younger than me, and after 3 hours, she just won.

3-6 7-6 (11-9) 6-3 but I am happy a great game.

Two of the greats, Anne, with unique voices. I enjoyed the clip. I agree about the Lazarus video - it's quite disturbing.

Message received today

Free book offer to the group! On Amazon Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th.

You read it right. To say thank you to Goodreads for featuring One Man Two Votes, my publisher has agreed to offer the Kindle e-book on amazon for free Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th.

My novel is being featured now on Goodreads. I’m thrilled to have the honor. This group is dedicated to the authors I like best. I have several reviews and readers that think I follow an “early Clancy” kind of styling.

See the book and reviews for yourself at: http://amzn.to/1EtMPPn

I hope lots of you pick up the free book, read it, and enjoy it.

I want to thank those of you who have read the book. The reviews have been exciting reaching 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon. Lots of reviewers have stated—well let me just copy a couple instead of paraphrasing.

I thought it was well done and cannot wait until the next installment. The story line and characters were great. I highly recommend this book, it reminded me of a Tom Clancy Novel. Keep it up Russ.
-Mike Miller-

What a great read! J. Russ Briley can really write, and he keeps you on the edge of your seat with this political suspense thriller. You'll like the characters; you'll race from one chapter to the next; you'll wish the book was longer; and you'll be ready to read more as soon as the next book comes out. If you like reading John Grisham, you'll love reading Briley's One Man Two Votes.
-Kath-

My thanks again, and happy reading!
J Russ
