I need to get back to my current read also. Plus, there is a storm brewing and I don't want to be on the computer when it hits. Have a great read and a blessed rest of the evening.

Yay to see Jeanne and Debbie adding even more to their list. Mr. Darcy's library, indeed! I can see we need a whole new level next year. :)

And wouldn't that be cool to have a virtual scene pop up with Mr. Darcy sitting there near his fire with a good book and an extra chair?

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments I just arrived home from babysitting two of my grandchildren. Look at all the fun I missed. But I have not had a chance to read all day. How much can I get in before bedtime? I still have 3 reviews to complete but that won't be today.

message 1671: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Lenora, your list is awesome! Several in there are new to me that I'll have to check out.

message 1672: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments OMG - this list wasn't there when I was posting - absolutely undeniably over-the-top amazing. I will have to read it more carefully to see what I missed. Congratulations, Lenora.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Lenora, which were your favorites among all those?

message 1674: by Lenora (new)

Lenora Robinson | 173 comments I really liked A Fire at Netherfeild, The Strange Inheritance of Mary Bennet, and The Angel of Grove Street. there are many more i liked and a few i didn't like.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Lenora, OMG!!! We are so happy for you. You have earned your own seat in the library. Take that comfy chair near the cardboard cutout of Mr. Darcy. Welcome and celebration all around. Cheers and confetti!!! Woohoo!! I've got to check that list and see what I can add to my TBR pile. Yeah!! More books. JWG

message 1676: by Lenora (new)

Lenora Robinson | 173 comments thank you thank you . i am always looking for new books, I don't particular like the modern versions but i guess i just like the quiet of the country and the way they relate to each other that catches my eye.

message 1677: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments You are among friends here and will find more books than you can shake a stick at. Once I got started my TBR [to be read] pile out numbered what I have read. So, when I'm snowed in this winter, I can read myself silly. Enjoy adding books to your challenger.

message 1678: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Mr. Bennet's library is getting snug. I think for next year we do need to add the Pemberley library at a lower level, i.e., 151 books. What so others think? But we will just push some chairs closer together for now and forbid all that dancing on tables that went on a few weeks ago. Welcome in, Lenora.

And it leads into so much more. I almost died with laughter at some of this but didn't even watch it all. Great find Debbie.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Ahnya wrote: "I always feel like such a time waster when I look in this section. I think it is AMAZING you all read so much."

No, no, Ahnya. Everyone's in a different season in their life, and everybody's personality is different. No intent to shame anybody just because some of us read a bunch more than others. Whatever you're comfortable reading, that's what you should read with no reason to feel guilty or that you have to apologize.

I've posted before that, until about 5 years ago, I was lucky if I read 2 books in an entire year. Too busy with marriage, parenting and working full-time. I'm still married, but now we're empty nesters and retired. I'd rather read than watch TV, and I'm not that outgoing in person so I prefer staying home to getting out with others. I would probably be mentally healthier if I read LESS!

And I can say "ditto" to all of that. I do have grandchildren I babysit from time to time but I would rather read than just about anything else. I do force myself to have some other interests but love to escape into a good romance or even a mystery or spy novel...like Denial of Conscience, etc.

Lenora, that is consistent with all of us...one step forward and two steps back. My to be read pile has doubled this summer. Every time someone give a great review...there I go. I've accepted it and just go with the flow. It is more fun that way. Enjoy...

I used to feel like that too when I joined first but now I just go with the flow. I'm at home all day but I've been looking after my daughter and do alot of driving to appointments. So the weekend is my real reading time. You just enjoy the fun here Ahnya and read at your own pace. It really is a great group and keeps me going.

message 1700: by Ahnya (new)

Ahnya I totally could read more, and I seriously do waste time. My husband likes to tell me that I am piddling. I don't feel bad I actually see it more of a challenge than anything.
