J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Yes, I always read the reviews. I've watched reviews by you, Debbie, Meredith and others for sometime when I was cruising Amazon. Now, when I look at reviews, I see other names I've noticed in GR. It is a good feeling. Like encountering friends in the mall or something.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments J. W. wrote: "Debbie, I doubt I will ever be in the league with you or Sheila. You guys are in a level of your own. In fact I am surprised there isn't additional levels to shoot for. After Bennet...where to next?"

Mr. Darcy's Library, of course! Or maybe we should call it the Pemberley Library?

message 1503: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Oh, yes, with the massive collections and the additional spaces and furnishings and even the view from the windows...my, goodness, yes!

I like the analogy, Jeanne!

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Thanks Debbie...as I wave across the mall.

We could even have Longbourn Library, Netherfield Library, Rosings Park Library and then Pemberley Library. Notice I graded them according to how well they were supplied.

I noticed several gaps in the number of books read so these libraries could fill in the gaps. That way someone doesn't have to wait so long before advancing into the next library. Keeps up the excitement. Just a thought.

message 1506: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Oh, I do believe the Longbourn Library has more books than the Netherfield Library, Jeanne! *waving back*

message 1507: by J. W. (last edited Aug 09, 2016 02:33PM) (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments You're probably right...because we never saw Mr. Bennet traipsing the three miles to get to the Netherfield Library...now that I think about it. Good catch!! ** waving fingers, as I look over my shoulder, while heading toward the book store**

message 1508: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Correct

message 1509: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Debbie-164?...Jeanne-127? I'm seriously impressed!!
I think it's a great idea for other libraries to be available to those of us who need to sit in a beautiful space filled with leather bound books, comfy armchairs and an unlimited supply of tea!!!!

message 1510: by Sheila (last edited Aug 09, 2016 03:19PM) (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments I have three very long unpublished books I have been wanting to read so you many not see me posting any reviews for a while. I am first reading A Pinch of Salt by Lucy S. It is a modern mashup of Top Chef and P&P...it at least uses some of our beloved characters. It have over 500 pages so see you around. I don't know if she will allow me to post a review but I can at least tell you all if I liked it or not. It is MA rated.
http://meryton.com/aha/index.php?show...

I have posted 167 reviews this year but that doesn't count all those very short ones a week or two ago.

message 1511: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Lucy S? Did she write Being Mrs Darcy or have I gotten the wrong author?
I like the premise,it sounds good,so I hope you enjoy it Sheila.

message 1512: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 224 comments I think it's the same Lucy.

message 1513: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Thanks,Ceri

message 1514: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Yes, It is the same one and she has other stories which I have read - all good/excellent.

message 1515: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Barton Sasser (bartonsasser) | 134 comments Sheila wrote: "I have three very long unpublished books I have been wanting to read so you many not see me posting any reviews for a while. I am first reading A Pinch of Salt by Lucy S. It is a modern mashup of T..."

Per author note on that story, cannot be added to GR.

message 1516: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments I was going to ask her and that's OK. I am about 100 pages into it. That doesn't stop me from reading it or even from mentioning it and how I did or didn't like it. I just can't post a review.

message 1517: by Nicole (last edited Aug 10, 2016 07:49AM) (new)

Nicole Barton Sasser (bartonsasser) | 134 comments I am not real excited about bringing up some issues with AHA after the last fiasco. A handful of authors there are adding "(cannot) discuss it at other websites” to their notes about not wanting stories to be added to GR. I do not believe they can dictate that. But are considering that "sharing," just like adding it to GR?

Also, her particular note says you can contact her to discuss options. But this new AHA policy was not put into affect so an author can control good/bad reviews. If she lets one, then has to let all. The policy was put into affect for privacy reasons.

Still some issues to be ironed out. We shall see.

message 1518: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Thank you for letting me know. Her story seems to be a very good one and I have loved others by her so my review would not be a poor review at all. So maybe I will just mention it to her anyway.

message 1519: by Mary (new)

Anji | 283 comments Bowing down in awe to all of you in here. It's not likely that I'll get to join such august company but could you keep a cushion free on the floor in a corner somewhere, just in case?

message 1526: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Anji, you are such a sweet friend to all of us and we know you are busy and have had some physical difficulties so I am shoving the pillows out of the way so there is room at leisure on the divan...when ever you arrive.

message 1527: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Anji-did you read Sheila's comment? You're guaranteed a fab welcome, when, not if,you gain entry into the library. Perhaps you could spare a cushion for both Barb and I,who have read 51 books?!

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments You know all you dear people are eagerly awaited. It would not be the same without you. The doors are ajar and the butler will guide you in.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments And Anji and Barb, you can come in and hang with us whenever you want. Some of us may be residents, but we enjoy having guests share the library with us!

message 1534: by Anji (last edited Aug 11, 2016 02:01PM) (new)

Anji | 283 comments Thanks friends! I had my nerve block this morning, and although having needles stuck in my spine wasn't the best of experiences, I was actually quite comfortable lying on my front on the table of the CT scanner, as it was padded with some very soft pillows, which made me think of Mr. Bennet's Library and all my friends here. I was also thinking about The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen, which I finished just last night and thought was just wonderful.

message 1535: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 277 comments Good luck with the treatment Anji. My brother suffers terribly with his back and I know the agony he's been in. Not nice for anyone.

message 1538: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Good Luck Anji.

message 1539: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments I just finished reading A Pinch of Salt by Lucy S. She has a sequel in the works. I am not allowed to post a review but this story would get 5 stars from me. It is a modern day mash-up of Top Chef and P&P. I found the characteristics of the people taken from canon to be very well portrayed. I loved it. Stayed up late last night to reach a certain climax point. About 500 pages in all.

Thanks for the good wishes, folks. Three days down the line and not noticed any difference yet. Still got everything crossed that the treatment will kick in eventually. Apparently it's one of these things that might take a while.

message 1549: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 277 comments Hang in there Anji. My brother had a big operation on his back. His doctor told him he'd be three months out of work. A guy he knew told him not to expect to be back at work for six months. It took eleven. At first he was sorry he had the surgery but now two years on he's great. He can't do all the things he used to love. Gardening is a big no no, but at least he has no pain and he says it's worth it for that alone. Sorry to go on a bit but it might give you some hope.

message 1550: by Claudine (new)

Claudine DiMuzio / Just Jane 1813 | 224 comments Yes, Anji... Take good care of yourself. You can only take one day at a time.
