Verra Nice, Debbie! I see several that have my curiosity. I think you're going to surpass the big 2-0-0.

I read the first 10 pages: modern, Darcy refuses to use the word "love" due to his parents' separation and divorce. Having an affair with Elizabeth in secret. Jane, divorced after a 12 year, not to Bingley.

I hadn't posted in a while and wanted to catch up. I was out of my mind when I set a reading challenge of 200 books. What was I thinking? I think next year I'll give myself a break and lower that amount so I can have a life. I am determined. Also, I want to thank my GR friends who keep reading these awesome books that I can add to my TBR pile and read toward my goal. I probably would have run out of books if not for you guys. Thanks...I think :-)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Great Jeanne. I have read most of these but...I have not read #133 and as I see Debbie's and your 5 star rating it is going to be high on the list of next to read.

I am so glad I had one for you. You always have books for me and this pleases me to have one for you. Yeah!!! Hope you like it. She is a pistol and I would love a book on her.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed Chaos Comes to Longbourn. I had the privilege of a sneak peak at this as one of Victoria's betas and there were quite a few occasions where I spluttered cups of tea down my front when I was reading it. She did such a good job of keeping all of the POVs (all EIGHT of them) consistent, didn't she?

message 1624: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Anji, I know...I love those times...unless I snort my coffee through my nose, then it isn't so funny.

message 1626: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Wow!!! Debbie, you are heading for that big number. Way to go...cheering you on.

message 1627: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Well, when I add my non-JAFF books, I'm up to 192 so far this year. Won't come close to my 2015 total, but I didn't write reviews for many of them.

message 1628: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Wow, that is a lot of books. Congratulations.

message 1629: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments One has to ask-when (not if!!) I reach the magical 200 books, where will I be joining ye,in Pemberley's Library??? Or did we agree somewhere else,a few weeks ago???

message 1630: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Well, in keeping with the theme of this group, it must be Mr. Darcy's Library, but it IS in Pemberley (... much as Mr. Bennet's Library is in Longbourn, etc., etc) I think the discussion was all of us hoping that Mr. Darcy would himself be IN Mr. Darcy's Library!

message 1631: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Debbie, you always blow the rest of us out of the water. Well done.

message 1632: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Debbie-I have a faint recollection of that conversation........so we're agreed,Darcy's library it is then!!

message 1633: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments I'd like 30 minutes in the library with Mr. Darcy...oh, did I say that out loud?

It's OK honey, I was just kidding.

message 1634: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments To talk of estate business, the newest edition to his book collection and the whereabouts of the guest list to the ball he and Elizabeth are hosting in your honour..... have I left anything out,Jeanne??

message 1635: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Oh, I am sure there are abstracts and briefs we could discuss. Although I'd probably never make it into a Mr. Darcy's library, I would sure like the opportunity to try. I'm imagine the numbers would be pretty high.

message 1636: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments 'Abstracts and briefs'!! Yes,I'm sure you could make a conversation based on these topics so engrossing that he'd simply forget that anybody else was present in his library.....

message 1637: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Totally!!! :-)

message 1638: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Then again,if you,Sheila,Debbie and the rest of our 100+ group got an opportunity to set foot in his library, you'd probably all make a beeline for the poor man,and given his dislike of crowds and strangers in general,he might very well disappear through that secret panel behind that rich, red, velvet curtain and you'd never get a chance to speak of abstracts and briefs!!
Can't say that I'd blame the man for fleeing!!!!;)

message 1639: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments There is that....poor man. I guess I'll leave him alone so he can read in peace. It is the least I can do. I'll be nice.

message 1640: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments You do that Jeanne!!!!

message 1643: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Debbie-you certainly have your moments....if memory serves!!!! You gotta laugh!!!

message 1644: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments We love you too [and we will share Darcy with you}. Although we have to be very very quiet. Mr. Darcy's Library is a very quiet and respectful place.

message 1645: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments 'A quiet and respectful place'.......with you in it,Jeanne?? Not a chance!!!!
Debbie-we love you too. Join in-you're guaranteed to have a laugh and feel a whole lot better! :)

message 1646: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Sorry, ladies. My TBR pile is calling to me, so I'm off to do some more reading! (How do you think I made it into Darcy's Library, anyway?)

message 1647: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments A very good point,Debbie!! Talk tomorrow!!! Enjoy your book.

message 1648: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Actually, I'm incognito and trying to make a good impression in front of Mr. Darcy. Don't blow my cover. I'd hate to be kicked out of the library. :-(

message 1649: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 277 comments Love all the comments here. Always gives me a good laugh :) I should be off reading Mansfield Park right now. Preparing for the Bath visit and this is the only novel my daughter hasn't read. So we're doing it together for encouragement. And I'll have another to add to my Anne Eliott challenge!! Whoohoo.

message 1650: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Enough said!! Although curiosity is getting the better of me....you're incognito??? What or who are you pretending to be? I'm am lost afraid to ask!!!!:)
