Thanks for the sympathy guys. Who knows what lies ahead. Right now I'm just thankful my daughter is well on the road to recovery and ready to join the world again!! There's always a silver lining.

I was, I retired last year. I worked with students with learning disabilities who needed just a little extra work with their basic math or a little bit of encouragement. I tried to make something they didn't want to do fun. And with my quirky sense of humor...we did. The down side to that...I've worked with teenagers too long and am trying to learn how to be in company with adults again. So far, I have not been very successful. LOL!!!
Whoa...are we not adults in this community? I do believe, my dear friend, that your acceptance and your contributions to all of us here have been noticed, appreciated and applauded. Do pat yourself on the back and...even, blush with modesty. We love you. Hugs.
Teresa, I'm from the country...that fresh air depends on which direction it is coming from...just saying.
Ha ha!! Know what you mean. I live in the country too. When the wind blows a certain way we get the smell from the local piggery!! Lovely :( But I meant you're the nice clean country air :)
Do cows count? However, I do believed you've trumped me. My uncle raised pigs and yes they are fragrant.
Jeanne-I echo what Sheila and Teresa have said!! Have said this countless times but just to remind you-your quirky sense of humour and direct 'no nonsense' approach are what this works needs!!! Yes,a welcome breath of fresh air is what you offer☺️.Personally speaking, you never fail to put a big fat grin on my face when I read your responses and reviews!! So yes, take a bow, raise a glass, drink a toast to YOU. We all love appreciate you and are ever so grateful for the day you graced us with your presence!!
Do Teresa...raise one for me too as I'll be driving in the morning and can't risk meeting the guards!!
Man...you guys know how to lift up a person. I love you all for your comments. I am really enjoying this experience and learning to write reviews and to be in community with people who love books. I certainly feel my luck or blessings to be with people that speak the same language that I love... books and reviews. Regardless of the native language... it's the language of books and JAFF specifically. Of course there are other genres that we visit occasionally.
Now you are talking...reality check...glad you are on board with us...cause we do love having you here.

There... I am caught up and now it is back to the TBR pile. Did anyone ever find my forklift? The last time I saw it...I believe Sheila and Debbie were looking at it. I am not accusing anyone of anything. Just saying.
Jeanne-that forklift is going to get you into a while pile of trouble, you do know that, don't you??! Your list of books is quite remarkable!!!! I the you deserve a star!!!
LOL, Jeanne! You are not the only one who requires a forklift to move their TBR piles.
But wow, you hefted quite a few off the pile this time. Nicely done! I do like the sound of the title Caroline's Fate.

Congratulations on your achievements to date, Jeanne - well done. My Wish List (which is the same as TBR IMO) is 187 books long...I don't think a forklift would be adequate at this point. In fact: stand clear if it begins to wobble! That doesn't count the unread books on my Kindle which are technically part of my TBR list.

Lotsa good ones in that "recently read" pile! Love your review of Caroline's Fate!
Guys, even though I just off loaded a few books, I still have 213 in my TBR pile. Every time y'all review a book that sounds good, I have to add it to my list. Part of the list I own, and part are a wish-list which means I have not bought it or borrowed it from the library yet...or I am still on the fence whether I want to read it or not. Sheila, I think you are right about that forklift. I think I need a man-lift instead. I promise... no pun intended so no snarky remarks from the gallery.

(Added a few from the last bit of your list, Jeanne, naturally!)
Eliza, I am so sorry to add to your distress. I'm sure I will grab a few when you post. That is why I love this site. I've found the most awesome books and everyone is so good with reviews. That way I get to avoid the bad ones and only pick the good ones. Yeah, it is a win-win situation. My Kindle app [on my NOOK] is full of books. When I'm snowed in this winter...I can read to my hearts content. I just need to pray for no power outages so I can keep my battery charged. Sounds like a plan. Thanks for responding. You can borrow my forklift as soon as whoever borrowed it returns it. We can build a scaffold if necessary to scale the heights.
138 The Falmouth Connection re read it was just a good this time around 139 Darcy's Deal: A Pride & Prejudice Variation
Lenora...way to go, we are neck and neck. Come on girl, I'll wait for you and we can cross that finish line together...wait, there isn't a finish line in Mr. Bennet's Library. Well then, let's relax with a cup of tea and enjoy a spot of reading. Yeah!!!
You both entered Mr. Bennet's Library at 101 books so you are now on your way to The Pemberley Library...yet, no one has put a crossing line ribbon in place. Are we there yet????
Voters: Would you think that 150 books is the ribbon or are we holding our for 175? 150: yes (4 votes from me, J. W., Mary & Debbie)
175: yes ( vote from )
You can enter your vote and our librarian can decide if we can influence the reading levels this late in the year.
Lenora wants to rename the 150 book level as The Darcy House Library and The Pemberley Library as 200...Maybe I should mark those as 151 and 201 as that is the traditional numbering system.
What does everyone think? I do know that there are a couple of readers nearing the 201 level so it would not be unreachable.
150 - yes from JWI think all libraries should be in increments of 50 books. That gives everyone an opportunity to celebrate 'movin' on up' with each other.
Thanks Sheila for bring it up.
I'm good with 150. Don't know about your idea of ALL libraries being in increments of 50, though, Jeanne. I think it's fair for the lowest levels to stay low - For folks with a lot going on in their lives, getting to 6 books in a year is an accomplishment to celebrate.
Of course...Debbie, yes that is correct. I guess I was thinking of the higher levels. I love to encourage all levels and those that can manage 6 books need to be applauded and celebrated as much as a 10 book achievement. Actually, when I joined I was already nearly at Mr. Bennet's Library so didn't give it much thought. Sheila tempted me in our early acquaintance by telling me she was in Mr. Bennet's Library and so I took it as a challenge and make it my quest to enjoy the benefits of said Library. I agree to leave the lower levels alone and create new quests for those of us trying to keep up with you and Sheila. Just saying.
Debby, I had the same thought but the lower levels are not "libraries" per se. So, yes, those should remain as is so as to allow busy moms, working ladies or gentlemen and even those with other interests to participate at their leisure.
150 sounds fair,in my humble opinion.......not that I'll get into Mr B's library let alone the vast and impressive Pemberley!!! But one can hope, can't one?!
Mary, I think we still have those visitor's passes so we can enjoy the company of any who would like to take a turn about the room with us. You know... to show ourselves to best advantage. To enjoy good conversation and to rest in a comfy chair with a good cup of tea. Yes, life is good in the Goodreads Libraries.
Jeanne!!! You're so kind!!!! Would be absolutely honoured and delighted to accept such an invitation!!! Name the time and I'll free up my calendar and meet you and all the rest of the gang for an afternoon of friendship, generously peppered with tea, conversation and a chapter or two of a good book!!
Mary dear, how delightful you are able to join us. With the time difference between us, we will leave it as an open invitation so you can join us at your convenience.
Debbie-thank you for your kind invitation!! Am so looking forward to meeting up in this distinguished library amid such likeminded people.
Dear Jeanne, the first rounds of celebratory drinks are on you!!! And I'm not talking of cups of sweet tea!!!! Cheers!!!
