Mr. Bennet's Library 101+ Books
Ahnya, don't stress over it. Reading spurts come and go. You will find your groove. Just let it happen naturally. We all go through reading jags and times when we need to do something else.

Perfect summary!!!
OK... I found another funny youtube video clip that I must share. This is a 2-minute summation of the entire plot of Pride and Prejudice. Enjoy...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkm5X...
My favorite is the proposal: "I hate your family. Will you marry me?"
Has anyone read Fair Stands the Wind by Maxine http://meryton.com/aha/index.php?show...? We may not be able to post a review but I am wondering if anyone could give me a hint as to whether this is a good story or not? Maxine has written other stories I have enjoyed.
I think I read it in the past but can't see that I wrote a review or a synopsis for myself.
J. W. wrote: "Lenora, woohoo!!! Those numbers keep climbing."Yep. Look at her go! You're rocking those books, Lenora!

Thank you for that. I will plan to reread it as the details are now fuzzy. Darcy is a Captain in this tale.
FYI - Part of why you keep seeing youtube links from me recently is because I was auditioning to sing with a Doo-Wop group and I was hunting down songs to practice (and allowing myself to get distracted by P&P youtube posts). They hired me! Unfortunately, that means my reading and GR time is going to be cut way back for a while. Once I learn this song repertoire, I'll be back to my beloved JAFF, but I have a LOT of music to learn in the next couple of weeks!
Congratulations. I have heard you sing on the links you sent me and the group has gained a gem. Best of luck. You can do it...you work so steadily when reading and reviewing so we know your work ethnic. Let us hear how it goes with that...Please.

We will miss your regular presence, but I hope you have tons of joy from your new project! Congratulations.

I think it's particularly hilarious that they flash The One Ring as he's proposing. Heh. Good stuff.
Congrats on the singing gig!

LOL! I love that anytime someone proposed they used the One Ring from LOTR
I was just rereading parts of that over the two evenings before getting into bed! I have the paperback...but the font is so tiny - it does tax my eyes.

Naughty video - such language and the cameras seem to focus on bosoms and **** - tsk! tsk! So funny - I must watch it again.

My stars, Sheila! Looking good. I think you're going to hit 250 this year. And you are getting to read so many fantastic books. Glad to see strong ratings for several that I want to read. :)
Sheila wrote: "I do think Debbie is there waiting for me."Not quite. You and I are running neck and neck. I'm up to 196 books for the year right now (including non-JAFF), but I predict you'll beat me to 200. I have a lot of non-reading activity that'll keep me pretty busy for the next couple of weeks or so. Along with my music cramming, I've got my first grandbaby coming due around the middle of the month!
Yes, I did remember you have those two VERY important events/interests coming up but I also know you read faster than I do. But your first grandchild...if the family is near you will totally rock your world or send you into traveling mode. I am sure we will hear from you about that...good luck to the mother...and the father with all that. So exciting.
Debbie...blessing and joy on the much anticipated arrival of your first grand-baby. We shall rejoice with you and are waiting with streamers and confetti.
Debbie-very best wishes to the mother and father to be!!!! Hope everything goes to plan and that you and your hubby will be the proud grandparents of a bundle of joy in a couple of weeks' time!!!
Sheila wrote: "Yes, I did remember you have those two VERY important events/interests coming up but I also know you read faster than I do. But your first grandchild...if the family is near you will totally rock y..."We're in Myrtle Beach and our son and daughter-in-law are in North Charleston, which is a little less than 2 hours away. The hospital is closer to an hour-and-a-half. So we're not quite as close as we'd like, but close enough to visit frequently. My daughter-in-law is very petite and has been really uncomfortable through most of her pregnancy, but it sounds like health-wise, everything is going well. Due date is September 19.
And the doo-wop group wants me to start performing with them THIS Saturday! AAARRRGGGHHH!! I'll be faking my way through most of it with the background vocals. At least I'll be prepared with the 9 songs or so they'll have me singing lead on. I still haven't seen the set list yet, so I'm trying to work my way through their entire repertoire on my own in between rehearsals.
Wow, lead for 9 songs - I am so impressed. Good luck with that. Wish you were closer so I could take in a performance. I do hope all goes well for the labor and delivery - each is different even with the same woman. Are they considering a C-section with her being petite?
Well, their repertoire has 22 songs that the previous woman sang lead on, so I've still got a ways to go! I wouldn't be singing that many in a single performance, of course, but we do about 45 songs per show and I think I'll always be singing about a fifth of that, which is 9! I recognize most of them, though they've got a few stumpers in the batch that I'm learning from scratch. Background vocals are easier - I just fade in when I figure out which note I'm supposed to sing and one of the guys will cue me as to whether it's supposed to be an "oooo" or an "ahhhhhh" or a "bop- bowwwww!" I do need to listen to the songs well enough to know where they're going, but at least I generally don't have to worry about those lyrics! As for a C-section, there's been no mention of that, but I'm not certain that's something our daughter-in-law would share with us. I imagine it will depend on what the OB thinks as the day gets closer. We'll be going to the hospital when she starts labor, though.
Debbie - congratulations and best wishes on this busy and exciting time in your life. Wow! How can you find time to read! LOL
I'm sooo jealous of you all with grand children. I've been informed by my eldest that she's not having them. EVER!! My youngest said 'not if you paid him'!! My middle one would probably like them at some stage but her illness will not make it easy. They're in their late twenties and early thirties so I've kinda given up on the idea now. Oh well!!!
Teresa, no worries, if it is meant to be, it will. Your kiddos are still young. There is time. I didn't have grand children and I'm sure there are a few people out there that join me in that category. I don't necessarily feel left out because I don't have a fist full of photos to show, nor numerous links to albums on Facebook that chronicles the life of a little one.
I may not have had grand children, I did have a few students that wanted to call me grandma. I thought about it and decided that if that child needed to call me grandma to get through the day...I was OK with it. So, I became a surrogate grandma to a few of my students who didn't have a grandma. Blessings to you my dear.
Thank you Sheila; we had a lot of fun with it. They'd occasionally forget and call me grandma in class. We'd get strange looks from other students; however, it gave us an occasion to laugh. It was good.
Teresa- it may be that one if your children will change their minds in the not too distant future!!! If they do,I'm sure you'll be a great granny!! Sheila-I agree,I'm sure Jeanne made each day a little easier to get through.
Jeanne-so sweet to see you recall that the kids called you such an endearing term. I take it you're a teacher? Can just imagine their happy smiles with you as a role model!!

I'm fairly sure I laughed far more at those videos than I should have. Despite the quality, I think I liked the 1995 one the best, mostly because I knew the songs. ;-)
