Claudine - the list is amazing - WTG! I know I am going slower this year as I am writing longer reviews for my blog, which takes time away from the reading. I am betting you are finding that to be true as well, with your blog. I have no worries you will reach the 101 by the end of the year!Anji - you are still in my thoughts and I am sending warm, healing vibes your way - hope you are right and this "kicks in".

Anji, I'm praying that your patience will be rewarded with freedom from the pain. I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel - as well as tired and cranky with the whole situation. Keep the faith, girl! We're all pulling for you here.
Claudine, how did you feel about 1876: A Pride & Prejudice Reimagining? I haven't read that one yet, though I did read The Wit & Wisdom of Wilde and enjoyed it. The only posted review was a DNF because of editing errors.

Thanks Ceri and Debbie, you're both making a blush!! I appreciate your really kind and supportive words. Debbie, I have tried to read all of her books, and some I just had to abandon. 1876 would be 3.5-4 star read for me. I liked it because the history with women's rights is interesting, and the study between Darcy and Elizabeth remains as the main focus almost from start to finish, which I enjoyed too. The book starts with them as a much older couple, sitting with their adult children, ready to listen to an important news story? So it was nice seeing them from thy perspective too.
However, the author even admits in the endnotes that she added characters from history that may have impeded the flow/progress of the book as bit, which I think is true, but I still enjoyed the story. If you decide to read it, I'd love to know what you thought of the book!

You know Lenora we are so glad to have you. I hope you found the softest most comfortable chair. Mr. Bennet's Library has the best furniture and we have it arranged so we can fellowship together. We want everyone to feel right at home and are so glad you are here.

Wow, Lenora and Sheila you are all setting the bar so high! But, I am going to make it. Up to 57 now. But, I will be out of the country for the month of October - visiting Poland and England. I think I may have to hit 101 before I go...I am very excited to read some of the titles you have listed that are not yet on my list. Wait - I thought the point was to whittle the list down!
Oh no - looks like I will be ready with a nice long list for 2017, too, Sophia!
Oh, enjoy your trip to Poland and England. That's better than sitting at home reading. Even though we can visit all over the universe in our stories, nothing beats the real deal.

You guys are so funny! Thanks for the warm thoughts about my trip. I am so looking forward to it. I will be speaking in English to Polish school children that may have never spoken with a native English speaker. I am nervous, but so looking forward to it! And, England is just a fun few days on my way back home.BTW My TBR pile would not keep growing if there were just fewer interesting books written! What's with the authors? ;-)

Sophia, I agree there's something about the TBR stack. I keep reading, but the stack keeps growing exponentially to what's been read. Bought 3 new books today while I need to finish the one I'm reading. Either I need to read faster or the many writers need to slow down. Haha!

Had to look up the word 'exponential'. That's what comes of leaving school early. Thank God I'm a reader or I'd be completely thick :)
Oh and I must be one of those, what ever they are cos my TBR pile is growing by the day. And getting worse since I joined GR!!!
OK guys no worries. The exponential gene is not contagious to humans. It is like a virus for our TBR pile. We remove one book and two takes it place...and so on and so on. All joking aside...the TBR pile of every single one of us continues to grow. That is where I got the exponential idea. It is 2 to the second power. It doubles and then doubles again.
Did you know that my TBR pile had the audacity to grow larger than the books I have read this year? Yeah, nefarious little buggers those genes.

I just finished reading an unpublished story by Lucy S., Mr. Darcy: The man with a plan. It is a short story of a little over 100 pages. After Hunsford and the harsh words exchanged with his proposal and his letter to Elizabeth Mr. Darcy decides he needs a plan to prove to Elizabeth why they are best suited for each other.http://meryton.com/aha/index.php?show...
