I'm not sure I'll manage, but I'd like to try. I'll challenge myself with 10 countries. Update: I have actually managed. I'm disappointed that there's not much diversity though. I feel like I half-a*sed the challenge. Half of the authors are from English speaking countries, the other half are also from English speaking countries (save for two) and just happen to be born elsewhere .

For those of you who are reading books set in different countries for this challenge, I would like to recommend this book. Never Fall Down - Patricia McCormick
Everyone needs to read this. I'm actually shocked by how little we know about Cambodia's fairly recent history. It's a very powerful and heartbreaking true story about a boy who survived in the time of the Khmer Rouge, when a quarter of all Cambodian people lost their lives.
update 6/24 completed1. USA The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
2. Chile Ripper by Isabel Allende
3. UK World Without End by Ken Follett
4. Australia The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham
5. Brazil Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho
6. China Buying a Fishing Rod for My Grandfather by Gao Xingjian

Read books written by authors from as many different countries as you can. The authors can have either been born there or lived there.
Thanks!
Nik wrote: "I didn't even know that was an option. Cassandra, maybe the challenge description that's in the first message can be updated to reflect this?"Officially, this challenge is about authors from as many different countries as possible. But there's always people who bend the rules for their own challenges, so I thought I'd mention this book. Personally, I'm sticking to the country where the author was born, which is why this book doesn't count for my own Around The World challenge.
Willemijn wrote: "But there's always people who bend the rules for their own challenges, so I thought I'd mention this book.."Ah ha! Thank you for clarifying and sorry for the confusion. =)
Sorry I haven't been updating recently - I've been recovering from being under the weather. I hope to catch up with updates tonight!
