Yes! I really liked it! I even shelved it as a favorite. Have you seen the movie? I was a little leery about starting another John Green book. The Fault in Our Stars got so much hype and was just bored with that one.

Wow!!!!So much happened!! I haven't been able to check multiple times a day so this is what happens! Today I have a important medical exam so I don't know if I'll be much online today either, but I'm reading quite a lot, just not finished another book yet.
I saw that the goal was already fulfilled but for future reverences (with small spoiler), Armada is basically set on Earth, but it do has some actions occurring in other parts of our Solar System, it just isn't the main location.
Nice job everyone on finishing so many books! And so many books for goals! :-D
MARGUERITE! TODAY is the day!! :-) Fingers crossed that all will go well! Happy signing and happy moving! :-)

Masks was published on March 18th 2014. I could read that one for the March goal unless someone else finishes something first.

- Written in Red
- The Wise Man's Fear
- My Life With The Walter Boys
- Prudence
- The Assassin's Blade
- American Psycho
- Lover Eternal
- Croak
- Beautiful Disaster

I have a couple of those books you listed on my eReader, but I have three books on the go at the moment so probably couldn't start one until Monday.
Nothing I'm reading right now fits any of our active goals, and being in 4 other group reading challenges besides this one and another to start in 2 days, my reading is not very flexible, lol.I should finish up Heartless and Station Eleven in the next day or so, and by Saturday I will have picked at least 3 more books to read for next week. I'll keep you all posted on what I'm reading and keep checking if something can fit a goal.
Since the book depository goal has multiple options, I can start Binding Ties for the March goal. Should finish my current book today and can start the March book this evening or tomorrow.
Sounds good, Stacey!
Joanne, are you enjoying the Parasol Protectorate? :-) I should really get to the last book in that series at some point. Not sure why I've been putting it off.

I have to take my daughter to soccer practice tonight - so I should get a good 1.5 hours of reading Across the Universe in. It's starting to pick up so hopefully I'll be finished tomorrow. That is the plan at least! Sorry it's taking me so long!

You just don't want it to end ;)
I do that all the time lol

How do you read so many books so quick? Do you listen to audio books?
Melissa wrote: "How do you read so many books so quick? Do you listen to audio books?"lol I'm a fast reader, for one thing. I always have been. It takes me 2-5 hours to read the average book. Also, I'm a widow who lives alone, my kids are married and live away from here, I have insomnia and only a part-time job. And I don't watch TV. So there's lots of time to read.
But, yes, I do listen to audio books, also. DH and my parents died within 3 weeks of each other and my last child at home got married 3 months later; I went from a home full of people to one that is too quiet for my taste. So I have audio books going a lot - at home and while I drive. Sometimes I listen to books while I walk or work in the yard, via mp3 players. And I find by having several books going at once that I can always find something to fit my mood. Fortunately I have access to OverDrive so I can easily feed my book appetite. :)

I always think when my children grow up and move out that I will have so much more time to read - but I don't want that to happen too quickly :)
At least you have something to keep yourself occupied with. Although I am sorry for all the loss you experienced - especially so close together. It must have been so difficult - you must be a very strong person.
I should get some audio books to listen to while I drive - maybe ones both my daughters would appreciate too. That's a good idea. I've listened to books here and there but find it is not the same (obviously) as reading them myself. Maybe I should try it out as an in between book.

Thanks. Honestly, I'd be happy to have less time to read because I was spending it with family. :) But you live the life you have... DH was 50 when he died. I'll admit I wasn't emotionally prepared.
Audiobooks in the car are great. They help keep the kids from squabbling. Not that yours would do that, I'm sure. ;)

Sometimes that is ALL they do lol ;)
I understand, it's best to appreciate life each day. That is a shame he was so young. My boyfriend lost his father last year very suddenly to liver cancer. He was fine one day and 6 weeks later he had passed. It is not easy but we coupe and find comfort where we can.
Lots of reading time is a wonderful thing! But agreed, sometimes it would be nice to be able to fill those hours with other things.
I'm sorry to hear that you have to suffer such loss in such a short interval, Teri, and your husband was quite young. But as Melissa said, you seem to be a strong person and that's good :-)
Audiobooks while walking or doing housework is such a great way to get some reading done without neglecting chores! A lot of books I wouldn't want to listen to though as I cannot immerse myself quite as fully into the story when I'm listening instead of reading. But of course, it also depends on the story. The Dresden Files on audio have been a blast!

Very true. I'm not sure the loss ever goes away, but it does lessen. And to be there for others gives our trials some value, I've found. In the Western world we have this idea that we control our destiny, yet so much really isn't in our hands. I believe in the God of the Bible, but it doesn't mean I get a free pass to avoid trouble. So I try to find ways to accept my situation and use where I've been to help others. And while I'm trying to figure out what's next I get a lot of reading done. :)

I'm loving it. Planning on reading books 4 and 5 this month if I can squeeze them in. Last month I got through 2 and 3.
Sorry to make a bit of trouble here, but at the 50% mark I find I can't bring myself to finish A Beauty So Rare. Even if it was published in March. It just makes no sense and the MCs are driving me crazy. I'll see if I can find something else...
Haha no worries, that happens to the best of us!
I have this thing about not wanting to leave books unfinished, but sometimes it takes me months to finish one of those more annoying ones.

That's where I'm headed now as well. Maybe I'll even manage to read a few pages before I fall asleep, though I'm not counting on that tonight hehe.

I totally agree Teri-k, on all points. Life is always throwing up the unexpected, and faith is what keeps me going.
I hope that there will always be books though! ;)
Thanks for sharing your story Teri-k
When I was a late teenager my father had a massive heart attack and died soon after and he was only 44 (and my mum 43). Mum had already lost her parents so your story sounded a little familiar to me. That will be twenty years next month, and although the pain does fade it never really leaves.
After several years my mum started online dating and then found a widow her age that became quite serious and she got married again about 7 years ago. It is so strange to look back at the person she was then compared to now, and I guess that is what 20 years does anyway.... But tragedy certainly shapes us all differently and I know for me and my sister it gave us an understanding of how fleeting life is. The closer I get to 44 the more I realise how young he was and how much life he would have expected to still be able to enjoy. That may sound morbid, but it really gives me an appreciation of the here-and-now as you just don't know what is around the corner.
