Which one do you mean? The one with the X author? If so, the book is still being read."

Sorry. I meant for the first published on the 29th book. From post 280.

Oh nice! There are lots more options - we should try and remember all of those! This isn't the first time that goal popped up so I'm sure we'll need those options again! Thanks ladies!

The next goal is "Read a book that was originally published between 2000 and 2005".

As per usual, I'll start hunting again ;-)

Anyway, the new goal is "Read a book which has the main location (setting) as outer space".

I reported back in post 280, which may have become lost in the shuffle, that I'd finished The Texan's Wager First published Oct 29, 2002, for goal 1. But I don't believe it's been updated. Is there something I missed?

message 314: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13784 comments Mod
Juliana's Armada takes place on earth, right? Despite the alien ships appearing in the synopsis. At least that's the impression I get from the blurb here on GR.

What do you say, Juliana? Do you think it might fit the goal or is it really just set on earth?

Such a shame I finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy before this round ;-)

message 317: by Melissa (new)

You've got Sapphire Blue for that one (unless you want to keep it for a repeat goal of the Europe filmed book/movie), or there's High Fidelity.

Not sure if there's something else? The Maze Runner isn't out yet, I think?

Edit: Forgot Sapphire Blue was already used for a goal, nevermind :-)

Teri-K | 4 comments I can read A Gift of Dragons: Illustrated Stories, which takes place on another planet, if that counts for the outer space goal. If someone else gets an outer space book before me, that's fine, of course. :)

It doesn't have children as a genre, but I checked the word count anyway and it's over the minimum.

Thanks Teri!
I wrote those goals and in my mind it was an alternative to the goal "Read a book which has the main location (setting) as a known planet other than Earth" which had to be a known planet. That is, in my mind, "outer space" could be any other planet or just set in space.
I checked the word count too and the subgenre which is "Science Fiction-Other Worlds" So therefore your book looks good! :)

Teri-K | 4 comments I finished A Gift Of Dragons, which took place in outer space, goal #6.

I've also finished The Gemel Ring, not for a goal.

I can read Earthly Delights, which has RADISH in it. "Opening the oven to see if a cake is rising is like pulling up radishes to see if they are growing." location 3261

ETA - I'm going to read it even if we don't need radish. I've been wanting to start this series over again.
