Right? Real life always gets in the way of reading.. Nasty habit of real life that is!

I love Midsummer Night's Dream! I have an audio lying around for that somewhere as well. Hmm... Maybe that's a project for next weekend. Just take an afternoon and indulge in some Shakespeare. Yess... I'm liking that idea! Will go nicely with baking cookies next Saturday for a bbq in the evening...

Could've sworn I had Macbeth on audio as well but it's Hamlet.

The Library Where Life Checks Out by Carmen DeSousa

I snatched that up for free on kindle at some point. Not sure if it's still available.

Edit: as suggestion for someone else. I read it last month - not long enough for a reread.

Hey Teri, The Apothecary Rose (Owen Archer, #1) by Candace Robb looks like it has a book on the cover. Is that correct? Then we could possibly use that for the book on cover goal, if you're up for finishing that book?

Yes, it's a book, not a scroll. I checked. :) I only have about 12% left, so let me go finish it right now...

It was so good I think I'll go pull the next one off the shelf and reread it...

I will, since you said to. :) But first I want to finish Magic Shifts. There's something really decadent about reading while my neighbor mows my grass. I have really nice neighbors. lol

message 112: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13783 comments Mod
Hahaha! :-p Nice neighbours indeed though!

I'm going to read Onyx (Lux, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and High Fidelity by Nick Hornby next.

And after putting those on the spreadsheet, I'm going to head off to bed. I need to make up for some lost sleep ;-)

Ok, New Goal

Read a book with the word tumble in the text

message 116: by Teri-K (last edited Aug 16, 2015 03:16PM) (new)

Teri-K | 4 comments Magic Shifts, which I just finished has "rough-and-tumble" as well as "tumbled".

ETA- If we need it: "He stood out among the rough-and-tumble mercs..." location 831
"I tumbled back down the stairs and fell against the wall." location 2297

It is Monday morning here so I am off to work and I have parent-teacher interviews tonight so I won't be online much for the next 11-ish hours. I'll try and check in through the day if any books need to be marked as read for the goals

NEW GOAL
Read a book where a character is a tradesperson

message 119: by Teri-K (new)

Teri-K | 4 comments I'm reading one where a character runs the general store. If no one else has already finished one or has one first. Doctor in Petticoats

I expect I can have it finished tomorrow, if we need it.

Thanks Teri!
Otherwise we may be able to use Cinder (from memory she is a mechanic of sorts) and then use paper towns or maze runner for the book depository goal

message 121: by Teri-K (new)

Teri-K | 4 comments I went ahead and finished Doctor in Petticoats. It had a tradesman - the couple who owned the general store.

What do you teach? I teach preschool, but I have taught third grade as well.

Teri-K | 4 comments Karrie wrote: "My daughter was in Midsummer nights dream. She was cobweb the fairy!"

Sweet. How old was she? Did you have to make a fairy costume for her?

My Dad used to talk about being taken to a play when he was little. It was MND, and probably the first play he'd ever seen. This was before TV, etc., and he grew up on a farm in rural Colorado, so it all would have been strange to him. When Bottom ends up with a donkey's head it scared Dad so much he said he couldn't sleep. He used to joke about how scary Shakespeare was because of that. Dad's gone but I have fond memories of his chuckle as he told the story. :)

Yep book withdrawal!!!!rofl

Let's see the two libraries are packed, the spare bedroom which was a storage room is packed, the laundry room is packed, the garage is packed. The living room is 98% packed, all left to pack is the papers we are going to need for closing on Thursday. The kitchen I am doing some more packing tonight and after tonight only thing left to pack is what we have to have out for the next 3 days, so I will say it is now 98% packed. The master bedroom and master bathroom I will finish packing tomorrow night (Monday night) and leave out the clothes needed for the next 3 days, by Monday night they will both be 98% packed. I hate this stage of packing because it is hunt and look for the odd things to pack.rofl smile

Wow! Nice work already! Not much left to do then before the weekend, that's awesome! :-)
Of course, there's the unpacking but at least you don't necessarily have to rush quite so much with that. More reading time ;-)

Still more to do, they have us coming and a going.rofl Wednesday we have a meeting at the house. Thursday is closing. As soon as we close we will take the stuff from the both frigs/freezers over to the new house. Friday we will take down our sleep number bed and put it back up in the house the same as well as take all the pets over and their stuff. Then on Saturday is the move from old house to new house.

There is no taking it easy after we get all moved into the new house. In the first 2 to 3 weeks I want to have the master bedroom, kitchen, living room, laundry room unpacked and put away. Once this is done I will unpack and put everything on all the bookcases in 2 libraries the following 2 to weeks. Then I have the guest bedroom with all the storage boxes to unpacked this will take me another 2 to 6 weeks. I want everything done as fast as I can do it, so it will be done and over with so we can enjoy our new home. Hubby will be unpacking all the boxes in the garage during this time as well and he will also help me with unpacking the master bedroom (clothes in closets and dressers.lol

I will try to read at least 4 to 6 chapter a day though.smile

Lots of work but sounds like you've got it all figured out! Very organised! :-)

And yes, reading a bit in between might be a nice distraction or rather a nice way to just relax a bit.

Good plan! :-)

Thank you!!!!

Lots of practice where moving, packing and unpacking is concerned, I can practically do it in my sleep. since 1997 when I met Hubby to now we have moved 11 times.

Hubby is a manufacturing engineer which means a lot of moving around. But we are finally back to the Tampa Bay area where we want to be, because we lived here in the area from 2001 to 2007 and consider this area home. Even though Hubby is originally from Texas and I from Missouri, we met in Arkansas.

Urgh. I hate moving.
When we moved into this house I told my husband I am only leaving in a coffin or if they make me go to a nursing home! I think I had moved something like a dozen times in 15 years across 3 different countries....!

I feel for you!!!! Where moving is concerned we just go with the flow and think of the moves as an adventure.rofl smile

message 141: by Joanne (new)

Joanne Wow Marguerite you're so organized. I've moved 3 times and hated each one. We even stayed in an apartment that was really truly horrible because I put my foot down, saying there was no way I was moving until we could afford a house. So we stayed there 5 years and like Karen, I plan to leave this house in either a coffin or to go to a nursing home.

We made sure to get a house in a perfect area with everything we need, and we have plenty of room as we don't plan on having kids. We may have paid a little more than I would like as in Canada, real estate is very expensive right now (hoping it's not a bubble that will burst like in some parts of US) but we've been putting extra on our mortgage already and I want to have it paid off in 15 years.

Reading your moving comments, and remembering last summer where I tried to organize what was OK to pack and what had to wait for the last couple of days (why are there always more things when you think you're done) is giving me flashbacks... shudder.

My hubby and I lived in a tiny apartment (maybe only 600 sqft) for 10 years to save up enough money for a down payment on a house. We finally bit the bullet back in March and moved in April. I remember living in a cardboard box shanty town for a couple weeks while waiting to close. i didn't think that tiny apartment could told that much stuff:)
