Am I the only one who hates Annabeth?

You might want to clarify the "she""
Oh wait...I never thought about it like that...could he be meaning I'm f***ing annoying right now? O.o

Either he's talking about Annabeth, which I have a problem with, or he's talking about me, which I also have a problem with....

Final point!!
And even if there are moments when I don't like Annabeth, I'm ok with that. Why? Because that ma..."
XD

I won't even argue with this. I agree XD But oh well, for the Percy I knew in PJO, I'm in this till the end.

Quantity replaces quality in a lot of ways for this series. I was just thinking that earlier.
For example, we're told Annabeth is the "scary blond girl" a lot, but I find I don't agree with that opinion that the author constantly shoves at us. Same goes for his tone about a lot of things.
It gets irritating. Even if his opinions had truth to them, he needs to cool his ego down a little.

Are you sure you're not Katie Gardiner, Daughter of Demeter?"

I LOVE her I would probably be just like her if I were in her situtation.

Stereotypical YA heroines who always need their boyfriends to protect them? What YA books are you reading? Usually the girl can do no wrong.
Equally as annoying, and getting to be far more of a stereotype these days.

That's true.
(I never read the Mortal Instruments).
Do you know what kind of characters I mean though? Like Holly Short and Maximum Ride, where they always have to make a point of how tough they are "even though they're a girl" and rarely do anything we're not supposed to like?

Finally, someone agrees with me! *hugs*
She was HORRIBLE to Rachel and Tyson for no reason! She judged Tyson immediately and she only disliked Rachel for liking Percy!"
So if your best friend was attacked by a cyclops and was part of the reasonshe was was a tree than u would not be angry at cyclopes!? And if you really liked a guy and this other girl comes around than you would not be angry!?

YES

I think Mary Sue is an attitude, not a character. There's no such thing as perfect, but some characters (yes, despite having flaws) are portrayed as such.
It's about how we're supposed to react to them, not about how they are.
(Notice how a "perfect" character we're supposed to think is funny is not as annoying).

Ria, I couldn't agree more.
That's why young adult romance is such a clown show... It's just a gross little game about worshiping each other.

Who are you? Are you even human?

I choose to look at Annabeth the way she was portrayed in PJO. She's one of my favorite characters, because I think her good qualities outweigh her bad ones. She's strong, smart, resilient, and compassionate.

its more than that but you prob didnt have a crush back then some are some arent there is no all young people are chasing
Harry Potter was an extremely rare example of romance that was actually fine in YA literature. I've never seen decent romance before or after, to be honest. Least of all in PJ or HoO.
Probably because YA authors think romance is something that it isn't.

Can you say that again? I mean, was that all one sentence? Because there were no periods or any other punctuation. Perhaps you could write it again with periods and complete words and maybe I would understand it.

You heard right. Because they are amazing. Like, really, really good.
Annabeth is one of my favorite characters!!!!!!!!!!
I actually HATE Annabeth. She thinks she's so mature, but she's really gross when she says things to Percy like, "And brush your hair while you're at it."
You know Rick Riordan is just making her say that so we'll think Percy is so cool and funny in contrast. He just uses her to secretly worship his view of his main character, and it's really gross how he tries to make her all sensible and mature. Elsa from Frozen was like that too, and it's just stupid.
It's just a secret way of patting himself on the back again, and making some characters more boring than others (in the way that they don't like to do fun, normal things, and have to be all bossy). Just ew!
The whole "seaweed brain" thing too. It's just a gimmick to get us to think of Percy in a certain way. Yeah, no. I'm not gonna shake my head at him and chuckle along with Annabeth at him. He's not that impressive. Gag!!!!!
(Oh yeah, and when he makes her say stuff like, "boys!" about normal fun things that the boys are doing, it's soooooo gross. He thinks girls are all mature and boring like her. I just wanna barf when I read that).
