I understand she's getting bigger and I know she's not 12 anymore. But still.
I used to like her until the Battle of Labyrinth. She was so mean to Rachel! And in Mark of Athena, when she reunites with Percy, she judo-flipped him! LIKE SERIOUSLY! Who would judo-flip their boyfriend! That's just abusive!
I used to ship Percabeth too, until I started to dislike Annabeth

we as readers, have the right to dislike a character. Now you, please just go chase a donut

and does that makes Annabeth a perfect Miss-Know-It-All character? No.

I totally agree. Just because she's smart and pretty and stuffs, that doesn't make her PERFECT!

and does that makes Annabeth a perfect Miss-Know-It-All character? No."
That's exactly the problem. People just assume her as Miss-know-it-all, but that's just 'part' of her personality!

But that's one of the greatest things about her character! Being 'perfect' is impossible for anyone, and it shows shoddy character development when an author doesn't give his characters flaws. Those flaws notwithstanding, Annabeth is still one of my favourite characters of the series.

there is absolutely no reason to hate Rachel. I think she'll make a pretty cool friend! She loves art, wow! She can predict future, impressive! She's loyal and fun, amazing! There's absolutely no reason to hate her.

And about the whole "no need for percy and Ann's POV" I disagree. With both of their POV's we get to see two different perspectives and reactions...also, up on the Argo, the crew was together and they still got all of their POV's, so it's kind of like the same thing..

Honestly, whatever I have never met anybody who hates Rachel, so I don't think anybody would hate Annabeth(although, judging from this thread, my feelings about how much everybody thinks of Annabeth has changed.) So what if she's smart? I can understand hating somebody, but you can't hate somebody for no reason!

*Getting all sciencey here*
According to psychologists you can hate someone instantly for no reason. They might remind you of someone you've had a bad..."
I think you're not giving us the whole truth here. It's true that you may feel opposed to someone from the first time you ever see them, but to hate would be taking it kind of far. You cannot HATE, but you can feel discomfited around whoever. Hate is an emotion felt only when two people get to know each other or what not.
Also, I did not say that people who do not like Annabeth are terrible. Don't know where you got that from... In fact, I think it's quite interesting when two people discuss why they like/dislike a person. In the end no one person's opinion is superior to the others.
As for the Argo crew going off on their own, yes, I'm aware of that. Putting aside the part where Percy was unconscious, Annabeth's POV gives us some insight on the way she is feeling about things, and that might be vital because it may lead up to more of her in the last book. She may have a role to play, and to suddenly throw in her POV in the last book without it being there in HoH might make things a bit confusing. Whatever, we won't know until the last book comes out

Sorry you feel that way. I for one just like going back and forth XD At the end of the day everyone'll see things differently, there's nothing wrong with that. (as for: I'm not sure where you got where I was saying you were saying we were terrible people for disliking Annabeth. Please tell me where I said that.// just look up at the first time you replied to me. I guess you meant to direct your comment elsewhere)
PS. Annabeth disliking Rachel "for no apparent reason"...lol, what was that psychological thing you were saying about it being possible to dislike someone for no reason? But actually there was a reason. It could have been that Annabeth didn't like Rachel because it might have to do with jealousy or maybe Rachel cuts into her pride, what with that being her fatal flaw and all. Ann hating Rachel really makes her a 3 dimensional character. And in any case, she's over it, so I suggest everyone else get over it too XD

Not to mention the other reasons Annabeth had to dislike Rachel: she hijacked the first quest Annabeth led, she easily succeeded in the things Annabeth failed at, and, to top it off, Annabeth was forced to risk her own butt to save Rachel a couple of times (not to mention Rachel almost getting both her and Percy killed at least once). Also, I think Annabeth may have been jealous that Rachel was a rich mortal who wasn't hunted by monsters constantly. Maybe she thought Rachel was weak (which she isn't, but in comparison to Annabeth, pretty much everyone is). Maybe she was simply jealous. Any which way, in my personal opinion, Annabeth did have some fairly decent reasons to dislike Rachel- although she shouldn't have acted the way she did, she did have her reasons. Just thought I'd put that out there, since Annabeth's dislike of Rachel seemed to be a big issue with a lot of people.
*Just for the record, I actually love Rachel. But I get why Annabeth doesn't like her, and I'm pretty sure if I did this from Rachel's POV, she would have reasons to dislike Annabeth.

I think the judo-flip was for comedic effect…

THANK GOODNESS! SOMEONE UNDERSTOOD!!

:P people make a big deal out of everything.
I'm just saying if my boyfriend went missing for 8 months and I spent all those 8 months looking for him I'll probably judo flip him too.
Percy didn't mind. He got it why can't you?

I ..."
Right? I'd rather see the judo flip than her getting all mushy...

Unless you see me saying 'Oh yeah, Ann..."
Naah no one's trying to change your opinion..just defensing I guess :P

Please don't be mean to our OTP Percabeth thankyou very very much.

I understand, and Im an Annabeth-admirer. But it's a discussion thread so I guess everyone's got to say something on Annabeth whether they like her or not. Nobody's making it a Annabeth-lover topic, but let's not make it Annabeth-haters unite either. It's a discussion thread, not a gang-maker or something XP

P.S That was supposed to be dramatic, not real.

This thread is open to anyone and everyone. It's quite unreasonable getting annoyed because people are mingling and sharing their opinions. Loosen up and just enjoy the different perspective. If you state a reason for hating Ann, someone else might try to rebut that reason, but that doesn't mean we expect you to change your opinion. Some of us do it just to give another take on the same situation..
