Hi Everyone! I'm Lindsay and I'm from Portland, Oregon. I've been on Good Reads for a while but I'm just now really starting to use it. My plan is to read more in general, especially when on public transportation (instead of playing games on my phone!) and before bed.
I enjoy lots of books, but I tend more towards fiction and fantasy. My goal is 24 books this year but I'm fairly confident that I'm going to go past it. I am also trying to read more books by female authors, and more 'classics' as well.
Right now I'm reading White Teeth by Zadie Smith, Capital in the Twenty-First Century by Thomas Piketty and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. Next up is O Pioneers by Willa Cather.
Hi everyone! I'm Hayleigh from New Zealand. I am 25, married, no children and I am an English and Linguistics Major at Otago University. I am a budding writer and am getting stuck in with reading as many books as I possibly can! I have just finished reading The Luminaries and I got to meet Eleanor Catton a few months back and she sign my book (fan girl moment). Anyway, she is a huge inspiration to me and I plan on following her path to Victoria University to study a MA in Creative Writing after I finish my Honors Degree. I'm also a feminist so if anyone can recommend some awesome feminist books I'd love to read them :)

Young adult books are a good way to improve your English. I could give you some more suggestions. But writing letters haing someone reafd your papers to check them, wull help your writing. I would like to help if possible. I have a couple college degrees and work at our elementary school in the library.

Hi my name is Kathleen. I joined the goodreads site on the recommendation of a friend last year. It has given me a lot of assistance in choosing new books to read and remembering old books that I have forgotten. :). For 2014, I decided to challenge myself to reading 10 books a month for the year. I am on track but finding it harder to keep motivated as the year goes on. So , I decided to join this group and I must say I am blown away by the amount that some people read. I find it extremely inspirational. If anyone has suggestions of books to read, I would love to hear them.I am also a single mother of 1 beautiful girl and am proudly Canadian.

You can be as involved as you want, and if you haven any questions, don't hesitate to ask! We're glad to have you (and everyone else who has joined recently)!
