Santhosh wrote: "hi, I am santhosh , a wannabe author with love for books."Welcome to the group, Santhosh! What kind of books do you like to read?
Hi,I am Shubham.
I love reading a lot. But didn't have access to good books when I was a kid.
Have started reading again to compensate for that.
Hello,I am Amanda. I love to read any chance I get, usually when I am not working or playing with my two dogs.

Welcome, Shubhan! You will find lots of great books to read here! I love to scan the challenge lists and reading corners of others to get new ideas!

Welcome Amanda! One of my favorite things about this group is that there is no pressure - it is all about enjoying what we read and motivating ourselves!
I am not sure if i already introduced myself or not. But here goes, I am Mervat from Egypt, i like to read almost all kind if books except for sci-fi. And i really like to make friends with those that love reading as much as i do.
Hi. I'm Gail, from Pennsylvania. Found this group today and was intrigued. Participating in 4 challenges this year, I have had the chance to read some great female writers that I had never read before. Looking forward to this group!
Hello All! I am Alicia Young. I am a fan of books of just about any genre. I've been using Goodreads for awhile, but I have now decided to branch out to groups that share my interest.
Hi my name is Jessica. I wanted to introduce myself. I love reading but I have been in school w. Work and kifs for years. I FINALLY graduated got a job working from home and love reading!!! I'm reading a lot now and hoping my kids will too. I love to be a part of these groups.
Hi i am Rebecca and i read anything and i have wanted to join a book club so i though that an online one would be a more suitable choice
Hi everyone :) I'm Rebecca. I've been on Goodreads for like four years, but I've always been kind of a lone wolf on here...I pretty much just use it for cataloguing books that I've read and keeping track of books I want to read. I'm a college student and I'm trying to read 25 books this year, although I'm woefully behind haha
Hi, everybody! My name's Laura. I've been on Goodreads since 2008. I try to read pretty widely, but enjoy contemporary fiction, literary fiction, and literary nonfiction the most. My 2015 reading goal is/was to read a book a week and also to participate in the Books on the Nightstand summer reading bingo challenge.
Welcome, Rebecca, Rebecca & Laura! I think you will this is an awesome group with awesome participants! Enjoy!
Hi! My name is Samantha and I became a member last year, however I have only just recently became active on the site. I read a lot, although not as much as I would like to. History and biography are my two favorites but I tend to be very diverse in my reading choices. After having my now 2 year old, it was hard for my mind to adjust back into the reading habit (my memory was a bit faulty for a while) but now I seem to be back in my old ways! I look forward to participating in this group.
Hello! my name is Kate. I have been on Goodreads for a couple of years but just now decided to join a group.I am a biologist/molecular biologist so I love to read science type books....but I also love to read in general and I read all sorts of books, that tickle my fancy.
I have already read the time traveler's wife when it first came out but I have been wanting to read November's assignment for a little while now.
Looking forward to participating!
hi, I'm Melani, i'm 23, love reading novels, and haaave little time to read between the work and stuff, but i really enjoy it...
Hi, my name is Bren. I am an avid reader. I am interested in all kinds of genres. I enjoy reading reviews and discovering new books, but I usually read ebooks available from my library. I am on SSI and can not afford to purchase many books. I have already reached my goodreads reading challenge of 50 books, but will try for 75 here.
I am retired and am the very proud grandmother of 3 granddaughters. I have always loved to read. My husband used to laugh when I would read the milk containers and cereal boxes at breakfast. He is a non-reader and prefers picture books. He has an advanced degrees in physics and engineering. Guess reading is not required for those subjects. This year was my first year to try the Reading Challenge and I opted for a conservative 50 books. I have more than met that goal. Next year I will probably try for 100 books.
I am a reviewer for several authors, but I usually buy their books, so that I can truly give an honest review.
I love romances and they must have a HEA.
" " paranormal/fantasies, but not ghouls/zombies. I will read some vampire books.
" " erotic literature now that I am older.
" " menage stories, whether they are MF, MFM, or more. " " menages that include Bisexual couples as long as
a female is part of the grouping.
" " BDSM
" " Sci-Fi
" " time-travel or westerns.
" " Regency period or earlier romances.. and they do
not all have to take place in the UK.
" " modern romances with a strong heroine and an alpha
male.
" " Gaelic stories both modern and old.
Time travel,
westerns, but not 'old' stories that take place
post Queen Victoria.
No steampunk, please.
Any review that says that I will need tissues because it is very sad, even in some places, I will not read. Life presents too many opportunities for sadness and tears. I look to my reading for happy escapism. I will not read terror or murder mysteries, for the same reason.
We often do not watch the nightly news as my husband refers to as the 'murder and mayhem' hour. We both think that much more time should be spent on what is right with our country and world. It would make a better model for our young folks to emulate.
Right now, I seem to be reading a lot of rock band stories and some of them are so good, that I am rereading them! Imagine me, a grandmother reading about rock bands. I used to go to symphonies, ballet, and opera, and never attended a rock concert.
Well, that is a good intro into what I like to read. Chat with you all, soon,
susan
Welcome Bren, I love when I surprise myself and finish my reading goals earlier than planned - congrats to you! Goodluck with your 75!Welcome Susan! I'm living with a non-reader as well so I know how that feels! Also, I loved pretty much everything in your post and am looking forward to seeing you around our great little group!
Welcome Veronica! We're glad to have ya!
Hello! My name is Elizabeth, I am twenty-two years old, and I live in Canada.I will read anything, and I have become more interested in experimenting with that in the past year or so. I also enjoy music, TV, movies, video games, and history. Basically, I like anything that will give me a good story, good characters, good art, or good emotions. I'm happy to experiment in my taste in any of these, I have an urge to experience everything.
I currently work for an ISP, attend a college course online, and volunteer for the local library, which unfortunately does not leave me with as much free time for reading as I have always been accustomed to.
I have a goal of 50 and I'm a bit behind (three books) but I shouldn't have too much of a problem hitting that before the year is out.
Hello to all. I realize that the 2015 challenge is almost over but I'm hoping the group will morph into the 2016 challenge. I read just about anything and everything with a passion for history and biography but love really great fiction and classics as well. I had already read "All the light you cannot see" earlier in the year and had to agree with most everyone's' comments. Since I have no-one to discuss my love of books with I felt your group was the most appealing to my style of reading. I have just today finished "The Book of Ruth" by Jane Hamilton and if anyone has read it I would love to hear what you thought. Looking forward to hearing from one and all. Oh, by the way, I have a sick sense of humour so be forewarned.Debi
Debi wrote: "Hello to all. I realize that the 2015 challenge is almost over but I'm hoping the group will morph into the 2016 challenge. I've been a member of the group since Dec 2011, so yes, we will transition into 2016 Reading Challenge!
Welcome Elizabeth! I am doing a couple of online classes as well and they definitely keep you busy...plus all of the other things mentioned! Very awesome. Glad to have you.Welcome Debi! 2016 is coming soon and the mods always do a great job of turning us over into the new year. I'm sure we'll be seeing new things very soon. And hey, bring on that sense of humor, 'sick' or otherwise! ;D
Hi, my name is Clare. I started my reader challenge in January but have only just discovered this group. I like murder mysteries, thrillers and legal thrillers. My aim for 2015 is to read 50 books, I have read 44 nearly 45 books.
Hi. My name is Stephanie. I am an aspiring (read: not yet published but I write everyday)author and due to my intense focus on the writing my reading had fallen off. I am hoping that by joining this group that I will be motivated to read more again because it is one of the things that got me through puberty.I am 31 and have 2 girls- Aviana (8 years old) and Ilyra (5 years old). I have never done a thing like this, chat rooms and such, so I am looking forward to learning new things.
As far as the kind of things I like to read goes, I tend to prefer fantasy/sci-fi and young adult books in general but I am trying to expand my interests, so I am interested in reading almost anything.
I am hoping this group goes into 2016 as well because I think my New Year's Resolution will involve books this year and I think this group will help keep me honest.
hi, I'm Ree. 34, step mom (fill time mom) to two wonderful kids ages 14 and 10. I'm a lover of all books except horror and want to expand my bookshelf.
My name is Gretchen. I'm a stay at home mom with three girls. I have a seven year old who is in first grade and a pair of three year olds who define the term threenager. I'm just looking to branch out on Goodreads a little bit. I've done a few challenges here and there. I read mainly historical fiction but I'm looking to expand. Right now the only person who really challenges me at reading is my thirteen year old brother. I keep beating him so I need a new challenge.
I'm looking forward to trying some of the 2016 challenges.
Hi fellow bibliophiles. I all ready have some great books to read since I have been on goodreads. The people here are fun, knowledgeable and can take a joke which is a prerequisite for me.I read to relax and entertain myself and lately have been drawn to the dark side of people. Look forward to spirited discussions with all of you.
Happy reading and thanks mods.
Hi, my name is Marina. I joined this group a couple of months ago, but haven't participated in the challenges so far. Now the new year is coming, so I'm planning on being more active in the group and participate in some (hopefully many) of the challenges.I'm from Denmark and mostly read books in/translated into Danish, but the last year I've been challenging myself to read more books in English.
I read a lot of different genres but historical fiction and thrillers/crimes are among the favorites.
I'm looking forward to join the challenges!
Hi, namesake! Is Marina a common name in Denmark? So far I had only met Italian and Russian people with my name :-)
Marina wrote: "Hi, namesake! Is Marina a common name in Denmark? So far I had only met Italian and Russian people with my name :-)"Hi, no it's not a common name here. I've been asked a lot of times where I come from, but both my parents are Danish :)
Hi everyone! My name is Maureen and I'm from Belgium. I just joined the group and I'm really excited about it. And I might love reading challenges a bit too much ;)
Hi Maureen, welcome to the group! I lived in Luxembourg for two years -- not Belgian Luxembourg, though, I was in the Grand Duchy. Anyway, I visited Belgium when I was there and I really liked it :-)
G'dayI am Sally and I live in Australia. I am an eclectic reader but lean towards lighter and fluffier reading across the genres.
I love reading, and I love challenges - spotted a few friends in this group and those I'd poke my nose in and see how it is. Like what I see - and with a new year starting soon seems like a good to make myself known before the new challenges start.
Hi everyone! My name is Joann and I live in Los Angeles, California. I'm new to Goodreads and just discovered this group! I haven't set a goal yet since I just discovered and joined this group but I have so far read 41 books this year. I am currently in the middle of reading Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon & Shana Knizhnik (which I am enjoying so far!). I love reading fiction, memoirs, nonfiction, classic lit, short stories, horror and thrillers. I am definitely interested in joining the readers challenge for 2016!
Hello, my name is Andrew and I live in N Va, outside Wash DC. I am relatively new to Goodreads. I really haven't been able to commit myself to reading for my own pleasure in a long time. I have two kids: a 4 and an 8, one is reading and both are being read to each night. My wife and I take turns. However, I recently started a new job where I am on public transport for 60 minutes twice a day, so I've started to read for myself again. What a joy. My interests are primarily in sci fi, history, and thriller/crime fiction. I've been on a Hugo Award (best sci fi) run since September, having finished 8 so far. I am on my 10th book since Sept 1st. Currently, I am reading Gateway by Frederick Pohl; Hugo winner from 1978. Fave authors include Robt Heinlein, Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Chricton, and Tom Clancy among many.
hi Andrew welcome. I just finished The Riverman: Ted Bundy and I Hunt for the Green River Killer if you like crime you will love it if you havent read it.
