Tara | 596 comments I really want to give this series another chance. I just couldn't get through the first chapter.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments It's great, Tara. But if the writing style isn't for you, we shan't flog you nor hold it against you!

:p

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) | 295 comments The third omni was a bit disconcerting at first, but I got over it. And I will flog you.

And I appreciate that! That's why I would like to give it another chance. You girls have never steered me wrong before, and if I know what I'm going to be reading I can go in prepared. You see, didn't even read the back blurb or the GR blurb before I ordered it from the library. I just saw how much everyone liked it and no one mentioned it was kind of a historical pnr piece. So I was expecting something similar to Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning where even though it was set in 1513, it was written very contemporary. This was written (at least through the first chapter) very much like a classic- which I was never able to get through- I even have trouble with movies- but I mean if I didn't know it was a new book, I would have thought it was written at the turn of the century!

Hey now, who directed you to Mel for that short story? Remember that before you start flogging people all willy-nilly.

message 356: by Arcadia (new)

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) | 295 comments There's nothing willy-nilly about it. It was a pretty good short story, though... I'll think about it. Maybe just beat instead of flog?

message 357: by Tara (new)

Tara | 596 comments Your graciousness moves me.

message 358: by Arcadia (new)

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) | 295 comments I'm renowned for it :>

message 360: by Victoria (last edited Dec 30, 2009 02:04AM) (new)

Victoria | 1 comments I would have to say:
Eric Northam- absolutely love his arrogance.
Nathaniel (anita blake)- love his dependency
Richard (anita blake) - love his dream
Jason (anita blake) - love his easy attitude
Edward (twilight) - love his love for her
Love the boys from the Dark Lover series, and agree with PR Zsadist. Only just started Merry Gentry series so not sure there yet...so far Frost and Doyle

Kyle- you are right, Merry is not as whiny and demanding as Anita (even though I do love her too) but she gets annoying and i feel sorry for her 'harem'

Kelly | 144 comments Ahrcadia ~(Fhantasie)~ wrote: "Oh, yes, Lord Maccon! Delicious :) I can't wait for book 2!!"

sad to say but I hear Lord Maccon is not in Changeless.

message 362: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Ahrcadia, I really do think you should give Tara a pass. The poor dear...she wasn't prepared. Let her give it another go before you ready your implements of punishment.

Kelly, he goes missing apparently! I'm sure the divine Miss Carriger won't leave us Conall-less for the whole book. That would be a travesty.

message 363: by Arcadia (new)

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) | 295 comments You never know, since it's not PNR. In the UF series Jill Kismet, the heroine's love interest was gone throughout an entire book, with only a few phone calls to let us know that he was still breathing. Maybe we will be "Conall-less," as you put it.

message 364: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Oh, no, I hate it when the love interest is absent, unless there's someone to replace him. Buahahaha.

message 365: by Arcadia (new)

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) | 295 comments Replace him!? What a... stimulating idea :>

message 366: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments How dare you! The very idea of replacing him...

::sputter::

It offends my sensibilities!

message 367: by Arcadia (new)

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) | 295 comments LOL. It could turn into a menage when he got back. Tee hee. Just kidding :) I don't want my sexy werewolf to be replaced. Or joined.

oohhh--make him realize that he needs to really let his beast out. :o) Jealousy can be so attractive on a man, don't you think? As long as its not taking over his personality too much, that is. Can get boring after a while, but as a WAKE UP call--oh yeah, jealousy can be a real alarum clock.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 461 comments Jealous is kind of sexy in a romance book.

None of you have listed the #1 hunk in the universe.

Mike from The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. He was the first fictional being I ever fell in love with.

message 372: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) I have always been in love with Char from Ella Enchanted. He's the first guy I've ever had a thing for in a book.

I could never pick just one. There are too many wonderful Dark Hunters and friends- Acheron, Kyrian, Valerian,Vane, to name a few.

I'm also partial to Jason and Nathaniel from the Anita Blake books, Nykyrian and Syn from Sherrilyn Kenyon's League series Dimitri from Vampire Academy, Seth(not supe but I love him anyway) and the angel Carter, from a Richelle Mead's Succubus series.
