I love him too! I wish we could see more of him...

message 403: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Stefan is an under-used character. He's barely there, yet what we do see still sparks our interest.

Good God, yes, about Eric. But everything he says is titillating.

Just finished Death's Mistress last night and I have to re-vote for Louis-Cesare. Gorgeous, fierce, with a talented tongue and skillful fingers, and so sweet and vulnerable at times. Like Dory says, he's a delicious study in contrasts. He's swoon-worthy.

message 404: by Mel (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments Oooh yes. That guy is singlehandedly responsible for the fact that I now associate the words 'callused fingers' with sexiness!

message 405: by Tara (new)

Tara | 596 comments Callused fingers is a common romance trait. I have been searching for a real life callused hand man for years!!

message 406: by [deleted user] (new)

I married a guy with callused hands. :D

message 407: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments I agree, the little we see of Stefan is very interesting. ;)

message 408: by Mel (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments Diremommy, if his hands are as capable as Louis-Cesare's than I am very jealous indeed!

N_U, I have yet to read Mercy #3 but I heard that there's little to no Stefan there. Do we get to see him later on?

message 409: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Oh, I think I'm at the same place you are, Mel! LOL. xD

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments Hehe, that's okay, I already got my answer :)

Jennifer (jenlopez1283) | 116 comments my ultimate favorites have to be between, Natianiel form the Anita series, Vishous from BDB, and Ash from the Dark hunter series

For Stefen lovers--he's in the last book that is currently out quite a bit. Bone Crossed

message 413: by Arlene (new)

Arlene (asr_latinchica) | 2 comments Well if you are a female, and looking to look up to a character, like if you could be like that character and etc, well in that way Rose she a real badass from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and fall in love like if He was for real or just admire well Dimitri also from this series.

message 414: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Harris | 77 comments I'm also in love with Eric Northman and I love him for the same reason I love Damon from the Vampire Diaries series. Why do vampires have to be tortured and unwilling to be monsters? There is something sexy about a vampire who is just proud to be so.

message 415: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Harris | 77 comments I have to add, I have always loved Lestat.

message 418: by Mar (new)

Mar Ok so I'm fairly new to paranormal reading and of course, I'm hooked like a mo fo...so, so far my faves are:
Devyn from Seduce the Darkness by Gena Showalter
Reyes from Gena's LOTU series
and
SYN from Born of Fire by Sherrilyn Kenyon...ghast, damn it I love that man.
I'm sure my list will only continue to grow. Yay!

message 419: by Heather (new)

Heather | 243 comments Hi, I'm Heather, new to the list and I thought I would jump right in. I have to agree about Roarke, Eric and I am going to add Lorgin from Knight of a Trillion Stars!! Oh heavenly sigh, what a hero..

message 420: by Leah (new)

Leah (ling_ling) | 81 comments Omg this is fun! I would have to say Eric from the Sookie books.. and either Adam or Stefan from the Mercy Thompson novels.. and I kinda starting to like Charles from the Alpha and Omega books ..(i tend to lean towards shifters/weres if you can tell.. haha)

message 421: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Danielle, as well you should.

There are some new men being mentioned, ones I haven't heard of before! Must investigate...

message 422: by Joan (new)

Joan (Silverstream) | 3 comments I'd probably have to say...Damien from the Vampire Diaries, um... Dimitri from Vampire acadamy, Stark from House of night. I guess that's it. By the way, what is BDB? ppl keep mensioning it and i feel so out of the loop! =P

message 423: by Sara (new)

Sara (crestedwlf) | 5 comments Ok, So you all have listed them for everyone lol, But All of the Argeneau men and the hot enforcers. Leaving even one of those men out would be a sin in it self. Quinn from Sookie a most sexy Bengal. I could seriously add to this list because Demetrie,Graham,Tobias Rule oh man I can keep going, any ways all from the Others Series are all amazingly gorgeous too.

message 424: by Mel (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments Joan wrote: "By the way, what is BDB? ppl keep mensioning it and i feel so out of the loop! =P..."

Joan, the BDB is short for the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward. It's about a brotherhood of vampires defending their race against vampire hunters. It originally started out a PNR series but has gotten more and more urban fantasy along the way.
Everything about the books is intense, so are the men in it. That's why they're always listed as hottest, most intriguing, sexiest, etc.
I started the series quite reluctantly but I ended up loving it. Seven books out till now, number #8 coming out in April.

message 425: by Joan (new)

Joan (Silverstream) | 3 comments Oh! Thanks so much for telling me, I was so confused. When you say intense dose that mean it would not be okay for a 14 year old to read? My mom is way overprotective, I don't want her to look at the book and be like, "where the heck to you see this!" She's been looking through the books I want even more, ever since that trueblood book I got from my english teacher.... good times. Anywho, thanks for the information!

message 426: by Mel (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments You're welcome. Hmm, a hard question though. I think it would be best for you to wait another few years to read the books. There are some quite explicit parts. I'm sure you could take it but I don't think your mom could ;)

message 427: by Joan (new)

Joan (Silverstream) | 3 comments Hmm...okay. Do you know of any other good paranormal books with romance? It has to have romance or I probably won't read it. Something about Pg-13 rated please. I don't mind a huge list! Thanks~

message 428: by Mel (last edited Jan 17, 2010 01:02PM) (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments Well, I'm more of an urban fantasy girl myself. The PNR books I read (JR Ward, Kresley Cole) mostly have quite a lot of sex in them. Nothing raunchy, but I'm sure your mom wouldn't appreciate it.

Here's a list of UF series I like (with very little sex in it):

Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
Mercy Thompson series by Patrica Briggs
Alpha & Omega series by Particia Briggs (PNR/UF)
Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong
The Hollows series (Rachel Morgan) by Kim Harrison

And have you read the young adult series written by Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong and Melissa Marr? I don't read YA-series but I've heard these are pretty good.

message 429: by Allison (new)

Allison | 7 comments Zadist is so easy to fall in love with because you're not supposed to. I love to reread that book.

Not Now...Mommy's Reading (notnowmommysreading) | 3 comments Oooh, I would have to say Valerius from Sherrilyn Kenyon's DarkHunter series and Paris from Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. Valerius is just so sensitive and yet so fierce in battle - he is the ONLY DarkHunter not granted supernatural powers due to Artemis' prejudice against the Romans. So you know he's a force to be reckoned with! And Paris - I admit I wasn't too intrigued with him initially (bedding a different person nightly *shudder) - but his character has evolved into one so tortured that I am just wanting to give him a hug...for starters. *lol

message 431: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Joan, you should definitely check out the Mercy Thompson series. :)

Hum, I don't know about the Women of the Other World series--at least not the first one. Not sure its entirely appropriate for a 13/14 year old.

Have you read Patricia Wrede's "Enchanted Forest" series? The first one is Dealing with Dragons. This one might (or might not) be a tad bit juvenial for you, not totally sure of your reading level.

Check out Tanya Huff's Summon the Keeper series--this is humourous and not exactly PNR--but not exactly UF either. There are 3 books in the series, the 1 I listed being the first. Well, actually check out any of Huff's series--they are usually UF, and not all are funny--some are serious, but they are not really "scarey" more mystery with PN elements.

message 435: by Mel (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1188 comments It's hard to answer your question if I don't get it. No offence but would it be possible to spell out your words?

message 436: by Rachele (new)

Rachele | 11 comments Joan wrote: "Hmm...okay. Do you know of any other good paranormal books with romance? It has to have romance or I probably won't read it. Something about Pg-13 rated please. I don't mind a huge list! Thanks~"

I just finished Shiver, which reminded me a lot of Twilight. It's got a great romance story, and the one bedroom scene is not explicit at all. I don't think your mom would mind it at all. :)

message 437: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Joan: Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers series and Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires are both YA and include some romance. Not naughty, so I think Mom would still approve.

:)

But most of the stuff we're mentioning...Mom might not be so happy!

The books Mel lists are good ones also.

I loved all the "Vampire Academy" books by Richelle Mead--this is her YA series and it's great--romantic, but not explicit. "Evernight" by Claudia Gray, "Graceling" by Kristin Cashore. They all have elements of PNR, and wonderful stories. My teen daughter is in our local library teen book group, and brings home all kinds of good stuff to share. She's just finished "The Olympians" series by Rick Riordan (movie to be released soon) and she loved those too. She went out and bought all the books, so I get to read them next.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Why is Ann yelling Mike...

message 443: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Bair-Epps | 725 comments I've come to realize -thanks to this thread- I like my men manly. Which explains why I lean more towards were/shifters. I really don't care too much for those pretty boy vampires who morn the loss of their humanity.

I'm so on board with Eric though! I love him in the books and can devour him on the show.

message 444: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Jessica, I'm all for the manly man too, and Eric certainly fits! Oh, that Viking. He seems to be the common denominator on most everyone's lists.

message 445: by Lissette (new)

Lissette I'm in love with Edward Cullen(Twilight), Jace Wayland(Mortal Instruments), and Alexander Sterling(Vampire Kisses).

message 446: by allison (new)

allison (itsmealliebee) | 19 comments Dimitri from The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Jesse from The Mediator series by Meg Cabot

message 447: by Heather (new)

Heather | 243 comments Hey Heather, I just started Halfway to the Grave and I have to say that Bones is working his magic on me. I can't believe I forgot about Edward, Ranger (and come on, how can you not include Joe?).

message 448: by Heather C (new)

Heather C (heathercook) | 44 comments Heather,
Yeah, I love Joe, too (kinda felt dirty naming them both) like Edward and Jacob.

I plan to start Destined for an Early Gravetonight, I don't want it to end.

message 449: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (funlovinlady) | 138 comments I have started to really like Gabriel from the "Nice Girls" series by Molly Harper. I like how much his character has changed and soften.

I love BONES, Z, Rhage..........Jamie Frasier

message 450: by Heather (new)

Heather | 243 comments Are you kidding me? You felt dirty naming two hot guys? Nope, nor dirty, maybe crazy for saying their names, but not dirty. I am training someone so I have to limit my time reading Halfway. I am dying for some Bones..
