Finished by 4th yesterday. #6 Melbourne Cup Night Street. Set in Melbourne, this was a great read. I wish I was more familiar with the seascape around Melbourne, as this little book is a fictitious account of Melbourne landscape artist Clarice Beckett's life.
Finally finished my 4th book awakening by William Horwood. It is great cant wait it get the next one.

I'm a Melbourne girl and love painting so I'm adding that to my TBR, Lesley, thanks.
Finished book three#10 Aussie paranormal/fantasy Soul's Child

My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I finish my 2nd book 1.) Spring Clean TBR19/09 The Road ★★★½
It could have been 4, but I did not get into the story until about page 60.
Now to decide what to read for my 3rd book. I think I am kinda on track, maybe only a few days behind.
Bette wrote: "Brenda, this challenge has been good. I don't know about other AR's but I've taken a good slice off my TBR list. 6 so far which is great. Thank you!"I agree Bette this is a good challenge. Almost all of my list was on my TBR shelf. I am onto my 6th book too.

I'm the same, everything except the new release was on my TBR list.
I love Brenda's challenges! They're always good for a TBR list clean up.
I'm glad everyone is enjoying it, and it's eating into their TBR lists....that's a great thing:)

Just finished 6. Melbourne Cup
A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court
Marianne Mancusi
gave it 2 stars - story could have been great but couldn't get into the 'heroine' and didn't like the writing style either.
Have another to pick up at the library - so will get into the September challenge for a few days!
I'm swapping around my Sep TBR for Oct TBR. So now I'm about to read #11 Sep TBR which will now be Night Road by Kristin Hannah
I'm very behind in posting this, but at least I can knock one off my list and I've almost another two that are done. So I apologize for being so delinquent, but here we go:
1. Spring TBR:
by Lynn Shepherd 2 Stars - just found this one too slow for my liking, so I'll add another TBR (darn!)So for my 2nd TBR, I'll read
The Night Ferry
by Michael Robotham - Currently Reading One of my newest faves, and I just had the opportunity to meet him so I'm a little biased. 2. Spring Color: Georgia's Kitchen
by Jenny Nelson3. Spring - New Life: The Blood of Flowers
by Anita Amirrezvani4. New Release Aussie Author: Watching You
by Michael Robotham Ok so I realize this came out 2 weeks before the challenge started, so guess I'm cheating, but since I now have my copy autographed I'm using it. 5. Spring Romance: Hush, Hush
by Becca Fitzpatrick6. Melbourne Cup: Bergdorf Blondes
by Plum Sykes The Fashion Element7. Young Adult: The Carrie Diaries
by Candace Bushnell8. Favorite Genre: Crime Fiction - The Quickie
by James Patterson9. First letter of name - C: Capturing Paris: A Novel
by Katharine Davis10. Fantasy/Paranormal: Not sure about this, as this is my least favorite Genre, so I'll keep looking
11. TBR - September: The Wishing Thread
Currently Reading by Lisa Van Allen12. TBR - October: Then Came You
by Jennifer Weiner13. TBR - November: Bellman and Black

Thanks Christy, I've picked up some good books to add to my TBR from your list:)
Finished my 4th for the challenge: #11 Sept TBR
2.5 stars. I'm uncertain as to whether I actually enjoy this series, but somehow feel compelled to keep reading them.

Maybe wait awhile before you pick up another Christina?

I've finished 3 of my challenge books1. Spring clean - The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. 5★ - what's not to love about a book about books?
8. Favourite genre - historical fiction - The Book Thief by Markus Zusak 3★ However this is also a book about books (at least partly) and I found it fairly ordinary... If I could, I'd give it 2★ for the first 10%, 3★ for the middle 80% and 4★ stars for the last 10%!
11. Sept TBR read - Good Girls Do Swallow: The Darkly Comic True Story of How One Woman Stopped Hating Her Body by Rachael Oakes-Ash 3★ - tragic tale of disordered eating but with a light at the end of the eating disorder tunnel that is hopefully encouraging to all stuck on the dieting/bingeing/restricted eating cycle.
Now... I have No. 2 (red/yellow cover) -
The Casual Vacancy, No. 9 (book starting with K) - The King's Speech: How One Man Saved the British Monarchy, and No. 3 (new life) - Perfume from Provence all sitting on the shelf, waiting for me to start one of them...!

I feel the same Christina. They started so well and then became very ordinary later.

Yes Brenda, the 'choices' mentioned in the blurb are gradually exposed throughout, as are the atrocities that all happened on a Nigerian beach. It's very clever, and whilst the subject matter is brutal and horrific, there are some funny and heart-warming moments.
