**Spring Reading Challenge - 2013**
Finished my ninth book #10 Fantasy/Paranormal Picnic At Hanging Rock. 3.50★ I first read this over 20 years ago but still found it an intriguing read this time round. Thanks to Brenda whose review brought the book to my attention again.
Finally finished my first book of the challenge The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides, not sure why it took me so long, but I'm onto my second book Eleven Seasons by Paul D. Carter.

Finished my 4th for this challenge Tampa
. Gave it 3 stars but not really sure what to think. It definitely was an interesting read.
Thanks Brenda. It really is an interesting read. I did initially feel a bit put off by it but I really needed to see how it would play out.

I enjoyed those books too. But it's a very long wait to the third one!

Katrina wrote: "Brenda i just realised that i had the option to pick other titles in the book search and so here is my cover forConfessions of a Jane Austen AddictI added this after seeing it on your book list, Katrina. Although I don't imagine it quite compares to Jane Austen... I'm reading Pride and Pyramids (not part of my challenge list) and while it's an interesting and light read, it's not a patch on the original Austen :-)
Here's my review for Tampa. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/....
Thanks Brenda for teaching me how to do it, although it did take my son actually helping me as well.
Thanks Michael. It really is a surprising read. I know now why you were so keen that it didn't just get lumped into all those other smutty, badly written books. It really does have something to say.

7 down 6 to go!
I've finished my 4th book - no. 9 - Book beginning with first letter of my name The King's Speech: How One Man Saved the British Monarchy by Mark LogueIt was a great read - different to the movie, but that didn't worry me (normally that's only a problem if I read a book and then see the movie!). It was interesting to see the differences between it and the movie - the movie is certainly meatier with more drama and conflict than the book, which is more biographical and more spread out through time, but interesting, just the same.
I think the movie makers must certainly have taken some liberties in some of the scenes that I'm sure they couldn't have gotten ideas for out of documents and research! But that's to be expected, of course!
I have finished my seventh book for the challenge:

Barbara Kingsolver is an acquired taste. I started reading her with The Poisonwood Bible which I found hypnotic. Maybe you should try that one later on???
Am currently in the middle of reading Cross Stitch which I borrowed from the library. I am enjoying the read even though at a vital moment in the story I find a page is missing. :-(
