message 509: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 3569 comments I've finished my fantasy/sci-fi read - The Puzzle Ring by Kate Forsyth - 3★ from me (I may have given it more if I hadn't read 11.22.63 by Stephen King immediately previous to reading this one - the premise was similar but King's was superior, although this one was certainly a much shorter and faster read!).

I think I'll have to change my YA read - The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is still heavily in demand at my local libraries so I think I'll be switching to The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith.

But up next is my October TBR read - Oranges & Sunshine by Margaret Humphreys - and my no. 6 - Melbourne Cup-related book - Death at Victoria Dock by Kerry Greenwood.

Trevor | 643 comments I've finished book no=umber 3 for the challenge The Light of Day by Graham Swift which I enjoyed and gave 3★, would have given it 4★ but I found if confusing in the beginning with multiple story lines in different times. Now I think I'll start on The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.

message 512: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 2001 comments Finished my fifth for this challenge, No.10 Aussie fantasy/paranormal Dragon's Child (King Arthur, #1) by M.K. Hume . I've also started my sixth, No.1 Spring clean Reconstructing Amelia Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight .

Are you able to request a purchase from your local library? That's what I do. If my library doesn't have a copy of something I want, I use their online purchase request form. They usually do go ahead and purchase it, and then I get first dibs on it :-)

Great idea Amber, thank you. I have requested before but only from other linked libraries and if they have the book already available. I never thought about a request for them to purchase. I will have to check out how to do that with my library. Cheers!

Heather | 388 comments I'm moving at the moment so reading is not a happening thing at the moment.
In the last two weeks I have read 6. Fashion Black Roses by Jane Thynne which I found totally facinating. I wouldn't call it a spy novel more about how the German people were controlled in 1933
8. Starting with H - Half Moon Bay by Helene Young

I have reviewed on GR, but it's just a link to my BL review. I'm not sure I'll remain on GR after the whole censorship/deleting people's content *thing* that happened.
