I finished Beastly last night and now I'm reading If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I just got it from the library and the waiting list is astronomical, so I decided to just read it fast and return it.

Anne of Avonlea is my least favorite in the series...I still love it, but...anyway. Just sayin', if you don't like it that much don't worry that it gets even worse...cause it doesn't :)
Heather, I did watch them I think two weeks ago...I love them so much! They just give you that "Anne feeling"...like you've known her forever.
I just finished Looking for Alaska by John Green and started The Giver. I can't believe I never read it, but I am intrigued to read the book that all my students who say they hate reading actually liked.
So I finished Touching Darkness and have now started Blue Noon and am loving it! I'm sad that there are only three books.
I just started A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly...it's so good so far. Donnelly uses her words deliciously!
I just started Shift. This was published in 2008 by a new YA author so I'm reading it for task 10.1.
I'm currently reading A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin as well as two other books that are not YA (Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris and North And South by John Jakes).
Tahleen--go for it! I've found that it's one of those books that you can read fifty pages of without even realizing it. I just really enjoy her writing style and the way that she chooses her words. The plot seems interesting enough so far, but based on what I've read, I'd definitely recommend it!
I'll be reading A Northern Light for the YA Challenge (a good thing, since it's been sitting on my shelf for a long time), and I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it, Jess!

I love A Northern Light so far...it's a pretty easy read, and I really like the narrator's voice. The story kinda sucks you in, too. It's probably one of the better YA novels I've read recently!
A Northern Light def. looks like a winner - I added it yesterday! I think. Or did I have it on my TBR before??? I've lost all track. But the book looks really good!
:)

So I started The Fairy Godmother even though I'm already reading Airman and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - bad me.
This weekend I finished Peeps / Parasite Positive, and was pretty disapointed at the ending. I also read Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging Confessions of Georgia Nicolson which I can not reccomend enough and Stargirlwhich made me really sad. Still a terrific read, though.
I just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower and I'm still working on Shift. I'm also dying to start Graceling, which I got from the library last night along with On The Jellicoe Road. I want to read every second of the day now!

Haha me too!!
Haha me too!!
Kandice wrote: "This weekend I finished Peeps / Parasite Positive, and was pretty disapointed at the ending."I have that problem with his books, too. I love his writing style, characters, and plots, but I don't always think he sticks the landing at the end (to use a gymnastics metaphor). It's why I give him 4 stars instead of 5.

I fear I will never get Jellicoe Road or I Capture the Castle from the library! At least not before the challenge is over. Being 10 out of 10 on the hold list is not promising.
I was really surprised that there wasn't a waiting list for these at my library. Maybe you'll get lucky and people will read these fast and return them early.
I'm currently reading Anne of Green Gables (audio) and Chasing Vermeer. I'm enjoying the former a lot more than I thought I would. I thought the pace of the book would be slower and I didn't expect Anne to be so lovable right off the bat. The latter is good so far, too. I'd planned on reading Enna Burning right now, since I loved The Goose Girl so much, but I chose this one because I'm in the mood for something a bit more modern at the moment.
Oi... I've only read 9 books this month! When I've been reading a steady 30 or more per month. What will I do?

I haven't seen it, but I did add it to my netflix que now that I am about half way through and really like the book.

Yeah, only I'm in the middle of a 800 some page book and a 500 page book.. oi! I think I need to read some graphic novels to catch myself up with my monthly number.. yeah that's a great idea.
Kristen wrote: "Oi... I've only read 9 books this month! When I've been reading a steady 30 or more per month. What will I do?"I read 5-10 books a month. It's a pretty good number, I think.

*sarcasm* Easy, huh? *lol*
I've been reading thicker books..yep that's my excuse. *nods* Yeah, 21 books in 11 days.. that's.. two books a day. My fallback is reading through my pile of graphic novels that I haven't read yet or at least in a few years.

I've just ordered the entire Percy Jackson series from play.com. I read the first four after getting them from the library and loved them. I can't wait until the library gets the fifth book in, so I've bought the entire series *lol*
I just finished Airborn (audiobook) yesterday, and started Monster (audiobook), which I believe someone on here was talking about being all the rage where they lived. (I'd never heard of it down here in Texas...) I'm not that far into it yet, but it's certainly interesting so far!(I also read Tap & Gown: An Ivy League Novel yesterday (NOT YA), and am in the middle of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.)
I recently finished A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin, and it just wasn't the right book for me. I'm currently reading The Yearling by Majorie Rawlings. It's super-classic Y.A./children's lit, also it's won a Pulitzer! It's fantastic so far!!
Sara TX wrote: "I just finished Airborn (audiobook) yesterday, and started Monster (audiobook), which I believe someone on here was talking about being all the rage where they lived. (I..."It was me. That book is huge in New York. When you're done head on over to the Multicultural YA thread.
Another friend has been reading the Ivy League books so between the two of you they've been popping up on my homepage left and right. :) They must be fun.
Gah! Once Dead, Twice Shy and Vacations from Hell just came in for me at the library! I may have to hurry up with my two books, or take a break from them to read those.
Kristen wrote: "Gah! Once Dead, Twice Shy and Vacations from Hell just came in for me at the library! I put something like 20 books on order at the library, but of course I find something (or 3 somethings) new to borrow whenever I go there to return or pick up. Now I have about 15 books on loan and more keep coming in.
Just finished The Fairy Godmother and My Swordhand Is Singing. I think I'm going to start You Are So Undead to Me.
Now I'm reading The Secret Garden along with On The Jellicoe Road and Graceling. So far, they are all very good.
I just finished the wonderful The Graveyard Book and am now reading Cynthia Lord's Rules
. It deals with a sister living with an autistic brother, which interests me a lot since my daughter is a director of an autism program that works with kids in an after school program working on social skills.
I am reading The Thief, and I really like it so far...I know there is supposed to be a huge twist at the end so I'm looking forward to seeing what it is :)
Laura wrote: "I recently started The Goose Girl, but I am not feeling it at all and may put it down."aww, I have high hopes for this...sorry you aren't liking it Laura! :(
