message 2002: by Joffre (new)

Joffre McClung | 2 comments I wish I were reading something right now, but I am currently working on my 2nd book focusing on returning to Self-love. When I get a moment to read, I may reread Tathea by Anne Perry. It is quite a remarkable book with many spiritual themes and a great woman protagonist.

message 2006: by Angela M (new)

Angela M I've finished Vinegar Girl. 3 stars . My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show.... This is a retelling of the Taming of the Shrew. This was an entertaining read but the retelling of Shakespeare just didn't work for me .

message 2007: by Britany (new)

Britany | 930 comments Finished Catch-22 by Joseph Heller by Joseph Heller- 3 Stars.

A sarcastic interpretation of war and how ridiculous it can be at times. Easy to read writing, with a hard to digest plot/message.

message 2008: by Colleen (last edited Jun 10, 2016 07:32PM) (new)

Colleen | 45 comments Last finished Emma: A Modern Retelling by Alexander McCall Smith - my first by this author, not my last. Although I haven't yet read the original to compare, I liked this one a lot, his style is great. A great message on how to live/behave.

Now reading The Summer Before the War, which I am enjoying a lot but is not going super fast. Won it in a giveaway, so even better. I love this author and loved Major Pettigrew's Last Stand.

I liked this one too, finally read it last year, and agree with your analysis but thought it was quite well-done.

I want to read LaRose and A Paris Affair as well.

message 2010: by Angela M (new)

Angela M I read Chasing the North Star. 4 stars . My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....

message 2012: by Britany (new)

Britany | 930 comments Finished Bird Box by Josh Malerman by Josh Malerman- 4 Stars.

Page-turning freaky goodness, that you can finish in one sitting. A freakish phenomenon overtakes the world where people "see" something and suddenly commit suicide- what do they see? Will our protagonist survive?

LeeAndra Chergey | 1 comments Hi!

My name is LeeAndra. I read as often as I can. I'm currently reading "All The Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr and "I Still Dream About You" by Flannie Flagg. I hate it when I am reading two books at once, but I do it a lot because my book club book usually sneaks in while I'm reading something else.
