Lela (lacslc) | 191 comments Working on "The Third Life of Grange Copeland." Not really sure how I feel about it. Hard to read in so many ways; no really like able characters; wonderful dialect dialog; and such good writing. It's a love/ hate novel, I guess.

Toby Haberkorn | 1 comments Hello!

As an author, I appreciate and understand the effort that goes into great storytelling.

My favorite books include The Ken Follett’s Century Trilogy, The Orphan Master’s Son by Adam Johnson, The GoldFinch by Donna Tartt, Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, The Children Act : a novel by Ian McEwan, and The Nightingale by Hannah, Kristin, as well as nonfiction such as The President’s Club and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.

I’m currently reading The Museum of Extraordinary Things : a novel by Alice Hoffman.

I love sharing book suggestions.

message 1894: by Lela (new)

Lela (lacslc) | 191 comments Read the story "Room with a Tree" by Michael Twist in Pooled Ink Anthology ((goodreads author) which won 2nd Place in Short Fiction. It is a wonderful piece with such well-drawn and fleshed out characters. Excellent story line for moving everything along; good tension; and, as always with Michael Twist an excellent way with words. Full disclosure - Michael is a goodreads friend and I learned of this anthology through his post. I will read the rest of the anthology and review at a later date.
Michael has other short fiction books available. I highly recommend them!
