Lela (lacslc) | 191 comments Finished Breadcrumbs. Very interesting book the author has written about two kids - written for middle-school kids, I believe but it's a fun book to read. You have to suspend adult skepticism and let magic in!

Am starting Language Arts.

Surrounded By Madness: A Memoir of Mental Illness and Family Secrets by Rachel Pruchno. Compelling and riveting, at times deeply disturbing, often poignant, and beautifully written, Surrounded By Madness tells the experiences of a woman who twice lost family members to serious mental illness. The book provides amazing insight into the turmoil and havoc that serious mental illness wreaks upon the family. Once you start reading Surrounded By Madness you won’t be able to put it down. Guaranteed.

Bridget's Quiet Corner (chaptersandscreens) Going between

Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown

and

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

I tend to kind of lose interest in City of Ashes, so I picked up Hello, Darkness. It was hard to get into at first, as the norm for me when it comes to Sandra Brown but the books I've read and finished by her, I've always ended up loving...I just tend to get a bit bored sometimes...but I love the stories she weaves!

I'm trying to read myself out my long slump that I have been having off and on since the Summer of 2014 :)

Karl Drobnic | 66 comments I'm starting 2016 reading Gourmet's Old Vienna Cookbook: A Viennese Memoir. Gourmet's Old Vienna Cookbook A Viennese Memoir by Lillian Langseth-Christensen . It's a look at the foodie scene in Vienna at the end of the Hapsburg Empire. Incredibly good food with interesting commentary and great photos, but following the recipes can be challenging.

I read the shoemaker's wife and I enjoyed the historical aspects of it. I believe it was inspired by author's grandparents' real life story. An enjoyable read

Lela (lacslc) | 191 comments Just finished Doc - easily 5 stars! Wonderful writing & a delicious story! The voices in my head were from the movie, Tombstone, though the OK Corral played no part in the book! It's mostly historical and a great slice of life from that time in our history.
