Hi, my name is Sue and I live just outside Cincinnati. I'm married and have a 23 year-old step-daughter. I work as a data coordinator for a pharmaceutical research company. I received my undergrad in dietetics and MS in Nutrition Science from the University of Cincinnati. I have had a life-long fascination with all things history, but am especially interested in WWII, Holocaust and Civil War. My dad fought in the Korean War, and I know next to nothing about that particular conflict. My dad passed away when I was 11, so I never got the chance to learn anything about his experiences.

Hi all, I'm Atul. I'm from Kerala, India, currently residing in Delhi. I am a lawyer by profession and love history. Currently reading The White Mughals by William Darlymple. I also enjoy reading books on Indian mythology. Not just mythological fiction, but how different authors have perceived and understood a common known epic. Indian history and mythology is highly interesting and can be related to the mythological stories in other parts of the world. Relating mythology and history to make oneself believe that it's not just a "myth", but undiscovered facts is something that I enjoy doing. The authors who have done that do tremendous amount of research that, anyone who read their works, would be simply drive by awe. My name is Charlie Smith. I'm an author from Negaunee, Michigan, and am 30 years old. I have always taken interest in certain academic subjects, particularly history and science, and while I am looking to considerably expand my reading horizons beyond those subjects, history non-fiction will always be my go-to choice. I am particularly interested in the First World War, and believe that, in America at least, your average person knows far less about the subject than they should.

I also enjoy a broad spectrum of sci-fi tv shows and movies, and am in love with the Final Fantasy video games, but I will refrain from detailing those here, for fear of being ostracized (kidding).

My favorite non-fiction author is Peter Hart, a British historian. If you read WWI history, I recommend you read Peter Hart.

My name is Angela and I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. I'm a chemist by trade but am fascinated with history. My history interests tend to be influenced by my current adventures or environment. For example, I recently read the latest Dan Brown novel and began to learn more about the Byzantine Empire. Also with tv shows like NBCs "Crossbones" or STARZs "Black Sails" I'm interested in pirate history. And I recently visited to New Orleans and enjoyed many historic tours and am fascinated with the city. New Orleans has so much soul, I would love to explore more about New Orleans whether it being novels about or taking in place in the Crescent City. Hello everyone!

My name is Amitabh, and I am from India. Maybe it's a bit ironic, but I am an engineering undergrad, majoring in Computer Science and Engineering!

I am extremely fond of history, partly due to some fantastic teachers I've had in school, and partly due to the fact that I love books, and hence a history book sometimes seems like another good novel!

Thanks to the current Indian school curricula, I've read plenty of Indian history (and I do mean plenty!), and a bit of world history too. My areas of interest include Greek history, Roman history (especially the periods after the reign of Augustus Caesar) and World War II (especially the war on the eastern front and the Normandy invasion). I also want to try out something good in historical fiction(I've read just one- The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone- and I am not even sure whether it falls into the genre of historical fiction!)

I am looking forward to have a good time here, and contribute to this group.

Hello all. New member here to this group. My name is Jesse and I am interested in all things Historical. Reading genre interests go as far as Historical Fiction, Alternative History, Mystery, Thriller & Who-Dun-It's.

My name is Rasmus Dahlqvist, and I am what you might call a general history buff. I have been interested in history all my life, not just accepting what other people write or say, but always checking the facts and looking at history from different angles. I have visited many places of historical interest throughout the world, mostly in Europe, but also in Canada, the USA, and New Zealand. As a matter of fact I live in a village in Belgium that is situated right on top of a Gallo-Roman settlement. I recently studied the French/Spanish colonization of the Americas.

Hello, my name is Mary D, from Santa Cruz, Ca. I recently left a sales position for a premier high tech, market intelligence firm. I have always been an avid reader but I am inhaling even more fine literature and some just for fun reading with more free time.

As a former college history major, I love all types and flavors of history. I am fascinated with every aspect of the American Revolution and Civil War. I continue to marvel at our survival as a country.

I especially enjoy historical fiction which often spurs me on to read additional research on the characters such as the Gremke sisters in Sue Monk Kidd's, "Invention of Wings." I look forward to participating in this group.
